Ok so I love the flavor and feel of the Swashbuckler, Daring Champion, Learned Duelist, and even the Duelist PrC but I don't know if any of those really makes a character who is all that great when it comes down to being a sort of Jack Sparrow meets Zorro style character.

I want to build a character who is a devil with a blade, skilled and capable of doing a good deal of damage but also being able to be charming, stylish and not invest every player resource into being able to poke a fool with the pointy end of his sword.

Any ideas in general? I actually liked Learned Duelist, and I wish I could just merge Swashbuckler and Learned Duelist into one character class because they would be pretty effective. I know I could gestalt but really if I was in a gestalt game I couldn't take those two and be anywhere near as effective as anyone else. That is doubling down on one gimmick and really killing yourself overall.

I thought of maybe suggesting Learned Duelist as a Swashbuckler VMC build, it has five class features and could be sprinkled into the class effectively

Let him reselect his known spells, let him readjust his gear if he bought items to allow specific focus on the mind controlling aspects. Add in a few more human encounters, especially people with key intel so that when he gets them to talk its even more awesome for him.

As far as I can tell Kasatha can use four rapiers at once making four attacks at -2 to all. You still cannot add more then one hand to the rapier and cannot get 1-1/2 str.

So... I GM'ed a drow paladin through all of RotRL, and she started as a regular drow, then paid the appropriate feats as she leveled up to "evolve" into a drow noble.

So why not take that tactic and avoid the drama?

Because being 6 feats behind everyone else in a combat class that really does require feats to be useful. Things like Power Attack, Cleave, Furious Focus, etc things we tend to look over as Duh choices for the feats.

When your fellow Melee Party mates are Charging and PAing and are just using their feats properly they are straight up going to make any damage you deal seem minimal at best.

Your party is likely going to be getting annoyed when it takes you twice as long to kill an opponent as it is them. Your Spell-Like Abilities at level 11 are no where near as useful as a Wizard with the same spells. I mean Deeper Darkness is cool and all, and a Wizard with a wand has invested less and has the same effect.

Lets be fair and see what each trades off. Drow with the Nobility Feat line is the same CR as the Party but comes in with 6 less feats. Where the Drow Noble starts as 1 level higher then the party and the same feat progression.

What player wouldn't rather take a 1 level gimp rather in 11 levels of being gimped by no feats.

Of course this is not counting a Fighter Drow Noble who can do this by 6th level, but even they will be gimped, just not nearly as hard.

Ok so... still confused because the Design Team's post is full of double speak.

So if you have a bonus equal to.. it stacks.. except when it doesn't because suddenly it counts as the ability even when they just said it didn't....How does that make sense?

They are saying a Wis bonus is an ability score typed bonus.. fine makes the monk and sacred fist absolutely useless above really lower level games and only if you give them 18 in Wis as a default...But if an ability or feat or spell.. whatever grants a bonus EQUAL to something that bonus is untyped and will stack. Ok makes sense its fine... except then they go on to say, unless it stacks with something else that gives you a bonus equal to the same ability score which then the first bonus is treated as if it were a ability score typed bonus.. except that.. how can stack in the first place?

Yes they used Divine Protection and Paladin as an example but doesn't matter. What they are saying is anything related to ability scores never stack. Just say that clearly... like really just say it.

Because a Catfolk Swashbuckler could be called Puss in Boots and be totally 100% awesome.

This multi-armed creature is skilled at making attacks with multiple weapons.

Prerequisites: Dex 13, three or more hands.

Benefit: Penalties for fighting with multiple weapons are reduced by –2 with the primary hand and by –6 with off hands.

Normal: A creature without this feat takes a –6 penalty on attacks made with its primary hand and a –10 penalty on attacks made with all of its off hands. (It has one primary hand, and all the others are off hands.) See Two-Weapon Fighting.

Special: This feat replaces the Two-Weapon Fighting feat for creatures with more than two arms.

Now if used by a Kasatha a being with Multi-Arms (Four in this case) how many off-hand attacks can the Kasatha make each round?

I would say 4, but at a penalty of -4/-4/-4/-4 to the BAB.
If all are light weapons reduce this to all -2. Can we get a Dev to just make a quick comment on this?

Please FAQ

So in short, the Wis to AC should stack just because the secondary part of AC Bonus does (Dodge and Deflection are not in conflict) and since we do not break up a class feature it would right?

Sir there has NEVER been an Ability Bonus type anywhere in 3.5 or Pathfinder. Your comment is foolish.
There has never been that Type of Bonus before, just because YOU and only you consider it a bonus type that makes it your own personal Homebrew.

Even if Paizo where to release a statement saying there is no such thing as an Ability Bonus. I can safely assume you would reply with "Till its in a book it doesn't matter"

They could put it in a book and you likely would say that you are not buying that book and because you didn't see it in the book it still exists.

Fact is google search Ability Bonus, you will find nothing on it. It does not exist.

Because d10 is reserved to Full BAB classes.

Well that just makes me ask, why is Monk not a full BAB class instead of a Pseudo-Full BAB class.

Ok so far as I can tell all Four Archetypes do in fact stack with one another.

Now the question is, what can we do with this?
Monk of Four Winds
Sensei
Ki Mystic
Qinggong

What can you make to accent these odd class choices.
How could you make a top notch monk with these classes (As they do not include many of the stock choices for worthwhile monk)

Alright so I want to make a Catfolk Swashbuckler and I am not sure what to actually do for it.
I know there are tons of feats for this potential build but very few feats available to me so I don't want to muck this up.

With the racial modifiers I have right now my scores add up to
Str: 13
Dex: 18 (16 +2)
Con: 15
Int: 18
Wis: 12 (14-2)
Cha: 16 (14+2)

Now I get 1 feat and we begin play with 2 free traits, and the option to take 2 draw backs for two more. ( I considered taking two drawbacks to reduce my ACP to 0 for any of the light armor is this a good idea?)

I am likely going to take Inspired Blade due to the increase in use with the Rapier but I am not 100% on that just yet.

Any Advice?
[Obviously the Puss in Boots from Dreamworks, the charming kitty with a sword]
