![]() Rock: Looking at the gameplay thread a few quick questions. Are you wanting me to create a character for Magnum or someone to take the place of Magnum if the group decides to pass on the rogue/guide? Either is fine with me just wanting to clarify and get some direction before I start work on him. Should he be a ranged, melee, or skilled focused character? Also noticed they leveled up. Is this a 1st or 2nd level character? Other wise I will build either the melee ranger (1st choice) or paladin. ![]()

![]() DM Acid if you ar still accepting applicants I submit for you: Korag Garn Urlot VIII of the Goldenhammer Clan:
Dwarven cleric of Abadar Korag is something of a red-headed step child of his clan (literally and figuratively). Where the rest of his family are miners, smiths, or craftsmen, Korag longed for the road and the wonders around him. Thus he turned to following Abadar. Thinking that the best use of his abilities and passions that would still further the clan would be one of the traveling merchants. Alas Korag had neither the talents or the drive to learn the tradecraft. However, while apprenticing for the merchant guild, he was accompanying a caravan when some bandits attacked. Here Korag's abilities and passion finally meshed with a need with his clan: that of a traveling caravan bodyguard. Not only would he be able to see the world around him, but he would still be a valuable asset to his clan. It was on one such caravan that he ran into Professor Lorrimor. The professor was on one of his long trips exploring the realm of Golarion. Reaching an agreement with the caravan, Professor Lorrimor, joined the group. Korag sat listening to the tales and adventures that the professor experienced in his long years of life. Eventually the 2 became friends and whenever the caravan travelled to Ustalav he would visit his friend and share the experiences that they both had since they last saw each other. Upon hearing of his friends death, Korag left the caravan and travelled to pay his respects to the man who taught him more about the world than anyone else he has ever met. Profile will have full stats for Korag this afternoon. ![]()

![]() Forgot to add this earlier: What lands do these dignitaries come from? Are they close enough to talk matters of trade and border disputes? If so, then Selena will definitely be spending more time each month discussing such matters of state. 1 week is not nearly enough time to do justice to all the different personages that we are seeing. Between crafting items and diplomatic endeavors, I am going to have little time for else. I am glad that we have ended the troll threat because if anything else comes along I just don't know when I will get around to it. Granted, all of this will take place once we get back home from our current exploits and dealings with the lizard people. ![]()

![]() Also, since it is Chad and myself who are the support type characters, was wondering what spells you would all like to see me know. At next level I am looking at create pit, blindness/deafness, silent image, and what 3rd level spell I don't know yet. So far the majority of spells have been to mess with the opponents (DM) and not too many buffs. So I was thinking halt undead, ray of exhaustion, hold person, or go off and get summon monster 3. ------------

![]() Just curious, if we are going to meet in June, and we only have a couple of encounters before the next kingdom building segment, what are some buildings/upgrades that we want to purchase during that time? This is more for finding out what each character would like themselves to have built in the upcoming months than to say this is what we are doing for game mechanics. For myself, I would like a library at some point for research. Hopefully, this will help and not take so much time when we finally do get together. ![]()

That is just it. the whole reason i put the bluff check in there was to make it seem that it wasn't personal reasons and that is was all about the state affairs. i don't think our leader being a paladin would approve of me consorting with a hag that might deal with demons ![]()

What boar are you referring to? We have already taken care of Tuskgutter. As for this 'prissy little diplomat' I would like to consider myself more open to the possibility that laymen don't know the difference between a witch and a hag, although they might look alike. If we talk to her with a show of force, how amicable do you think she will be? She is more than likely to ignore us (at best) or attack us (at worst) than talk reasonably. If things do turn for the worst, then yes I would return promptly and report to the council and take actions then appropriatly. are all of these posts chad in character or out? I can't tell sometimes. It will be nice when everyone is back together and discuss this with everyone's input. Its kind of wierd having an 'argument' with out the others chiming in. ![]()

![]() warham wrote: As far as BP spending goes, I say we either build a town/country with our BP or use the BP to rob our townsfolk and make them make magic items for us. Either one works, cause you can build the town however you wish, but we need to decide and whatever that decision is, the other view needs to be dropped. My vote is that I don't want to go home to a town of magic shrines and monuments. I think its great that we don't have to travel to a foreign land to get our wagon fixed because we now have a blacksmith. I like the idea of having our own brewery which makes a unique liquor. It gives our nation some character. If the rest of the party wants to go the other way, thats fine too, I can munchin with the best of 'em if thats our goal. I just need to know, because it makes a difference how I play MY character. Right now I'm the approachable loving and caring councilor, but that may change if we decide we are only in this for ourselves. So make a decision as a group, so I know how to play on Saturday. I am a little confused, I thought we talked about not making magic items last time and already agreed about that. This BP use would not be for that at all but is how I would go about hiring the citizens. Yes Selena has alternate reasons for going to the 'hag'. That is why I am trying to convince the council to let me go on the state appointed trip, funded by the state, and hide my real reasons behind the bluff check. If you think Selena is getting any of the moeny from the BP exchange she is not angling for that. My duty to the state is as Grand Diplomat. It is my job to meet with foreign dignitaries and individuals and discuss goals, agendas and the like. I am using that as the excuse to visit the 'hag'. Yes, you are in charge of our people. I could care less about them when it comes to the perception that other nations have of us. If we decide to stick with only 1 district and dont expand, I am fine with that as well. In fact I have a few requests for city improvments that Selena would like. (A brothel is not one of them.) ![]()

![]() warham wrote: Why are we hiring townsfolk when we are more then capable of escorting you down to the hag. Its been two years, I think a trip to the hag could wait until we've solved this boar problem. Or vise versa, whichever we feel is the most important. If we start taking out BP all willie nillie when will it stop. Does the assassin need some extra cash to go kill someone? Will the Marshall be pulling funds as well? Where does it stop? I don't think the town should be used as our own cash cow. As far as an army is concerned, that was going to be on my list of things to start working on. Unless we are going to get a significant economic boost from this 2nd city, I'd point out that our 1st city is no where near completion. Building two cities at once seems like a huge drain on our limited BP's. Especially when we are going to start building defenses, and some of those larger buildings that the town could use, and maybe that Grain Mill we were talking about. I know someone has been itching for a Whore House which Briana thinks is vile, but won't oppose if out voted. I still think we need to look at getting a list of the next 10 buildings that we think should be built and work from there. I agree that we also might need to expand out country, but we should agree as a group in which direction to go. I'm glad that our buildings are starting to help us out in more that just country stats. Its good that this new tavern is paying off in more than one way. To answer your question about why hiring townsfolk, this way we can find solutions to to both problems at the same time. I do not fancy a hunt with some beast and would much rather put my skills to use in speaking with the woman. As far as the pay of the townsfolk, we have resources (16 BP) with which to furhter our kingdom. These funds are not solely meant for building but furthering our community. If our citizen are worried about this woman than no justification is needed in spending the taxes we have accumulated already to hire these ciizens. I don't know how Mark would view this, but I look at is as spending the BP and not withdrawing the gold into our own account. As far as expanding our nation, yes this must be decided upon by all of us. This is just a proposal to start another city in a different location. This location is mainly for trade with other nations. Right now we are a nation that is centered on itself without any interactions with our neighbors or the world around us. By opening up trade lines, we can influence other nations and stabalize our economy with trade. Does this slow down our capital cities growth, yes. But who is to say when our capital is finished growing. Is it after 4 districts are completed that we start our 2nd city? That is what we have to decide as we go forward. As far as the exact order of buildings that we add to our capital or another city, lest be flexible and take it 1 building at a time. We do not need to constrain ourselves to regimented decisions that may take 2 years to complete when we don't know what will happen next month. ![]()

![]() If we, which I mean I for now, am going to go to the SW of the Tuskwater to talk to the woman, would this be a good opportunity to claim the old fort's territory now and expand our holdings on the land. If we founded another city along the banks, it would be a second and more secure stronghold to reach farther south. In addition, the waterways would provide ample resources for the people to use to further our economy. With the addition of a pier or 2 we could start trading with our neighbors. this addition to our territory would necessitate the expansion of our farming districts as well to provide for the new city. When does the consumption increase for adding another district? Is it when the district is finished or when it is initiated? As far as the citizen volunteers, do any of them seem quite capable of handling themselves in the wilderness? If so, what would it take to hire their services for the journey? As this is a diplomatic journey for the state, I would expect the state to pay for the services instead of myself. Loyalty check to withdraw 1 BP of funds (2000gp) with which to fund this and further expeditions that require hiring of citizens. Speaking of which, do we have any town guard? If so how are they being paid or is it just assumed to be paid in the course of the city's monthly stability check? ![]()

![]() "I can't believe the gall of some people. Just because a woman who may not be that attractive, lives in an unhospitable location, and has arcane power is labeled as a hag witch. She is probably just a misunderstood person that plays tricks on people just so they avoid her. I mean for crying out loud the fey in the forest do the same thing, but they aren't labeled so cruelly. What we really need is to send an emissary to her and get her side of the story. Find out who she is and if we just leave her alone like we do Bokken." (thinking to myself)This may be quite the fortuitous circumstance here. If this 'hag witch' really does deal with demons, I wonder what I can learn from her. Dealings with demons may very well give me knowledge of dealings with devils as well. She may have an idea as to how to break my father's pact. I will have to tread carefully on this matter. There may well be those among us that would rather see her harmed first before questions can be posed. If she is as formidable as the rumors make out, it may very well be my death if I visit her without the rest along. Yet if we all go and smoeone blunders, I may lose my chance at talking with her. "If the council agrees, I will undertake this journey with a couple of local guides to go speak with this woman. I will gather what information I can from her and report back to you. If it is the will of the council, I will spend the next 3 weeks travelling and speaking with Bokken, the 'witch', and the boggard that we met. Since this is more of a diplomatic mission and only I would be leaving, this frees to up to figure out what this Arven is complaining so much about. An 'ill-tempered' beast sounds like a great threat to the local fishermen." bluff to hide real reasons to go speak with the hag 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 ![]()

I am 1 econ higher, 2 loyal lower, and 1 stab lower than you. the loyalty I have been off since the very beginning and it has been the same throughout. I thought was with you on the stability and economy at Chad's. Now I am off somewhere. If you want I will just say screw it and leave it be and just adjust my numbers accordingly. ![]()
