APPEARANCE
Nejm is typically wearing any array of rough-spun robes and scarves in desert fashion. He carries an assortment of weapons, most visible are the short bow and javelins on his back and big axe he carries. The bardiche is a gnoll weapon he pulled from one of his kills in the wastes. Under the robes he wears leather armor vented for desert heat.

His skin is a bronze-tan, and his hair and eyes are dark. He stands under 6 feet in height on a frame that holds a lot of muscle, yet he appears more agile than on would expect. His face and hands are weathered for someone so young (24), and like his boots, seem to tell the tale of someone who has spent a lot of time in the open desert.

BACKGROUND
Nejm's early memories of his family are faint and best not remembered. At a young age he found himself in Haleen's care. She said she found him after a gnoll raid but never gave him the full details of what had happened. Although Haleen gave him a place to stay, she was not a replacement mother. Nejm learned to take care of himself, especially as Haleen often took on jobs for weeks on end. The lone house in the waste they shared was a small oasis in the midst of wastelands of sand and rock. Nejm grew to understand the desert and reveled in the independence that Haleen's upbringing granted him. She trained him to defend himself and the oasis and to live in the dessert. But it was always like she was looking after a little brother more than raising a son.

Nejm reached an age to branch out and discover the world beyond their shared oasis. He took on occasional caravan work and would come back home to exchange news and stories when he found her there. But this last time Haleen had been out and did not come back. She had left a message that she was taking a job heading for a old ruin of a town called Kelmarane. But it was dated 5 months ago. Nejm knows Haleen can take care of herself, but he has begun to worry and decided to set out and trace her steps to find out what happened to her.
