In Hero Lab, you can buy an Oil of Keen Edge for 750gp. The item description only says this, "Aura: Faint Transmutation, CL 5, Slot None, Cost 750GP, Catagory: Oil/Potion, Doubles normal weapon's threat range." That's it, nothing more. Now the Spell Keen Edge says that its duration is 10 min./level, which would be a minimum of 50 min. Is that how long the Oil lasts or is there a different duration for it? ![]()

Thank you both for your answers. I had it the back of my mind that Mage Armor would not stack, but I could not think of a reason it would not stack. Personally, I feel that if the spell description does not state that it does not stack, then it should stack. ![]()
Does Mage Armor stack with normal and, or Magical Armor? The spell description says that it adds +4 to your armor class, which to me reads like it stacks.

So I can put points into survival, but get no bonus for class skill and that total is my Tiger's tracking ability, even though he is trained to track? My Ranger tracks better than his Tiger, even though his Tiger has sent and my Ranger doesn't. This confuses me!!! Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question, Deighton Thrane. ![]()
I have a Tiger as an animal companion and according to the Core Rule Book page 53 says that Acrobatics* (Dex), Climb* (Str), Fly* (Dex), Perception* (Wis), Stealth* (Dex) and Swim* (Str) class skills for ALL animal companions and that an animal companion can have ranks in Escape Artist (Dex), Intimidate (Cha)and Survival (Wis). Why does my tiger get Fly as a class skill (+3 Trained) instead of Survival??? This is especially confusing because Survival is used for tracking and my tiger is trained in Hunting (Attach, Down, Retrieve (Fetch), Heel, Seek and Track). ![]()
In First and Second Editions of AD&D projectile weapons had Short Medium and long ranges plus Point Blank range if a fighter or sub-class specialized in the bow. creating only 4 range increments with a -2 at Medium range and a -5 at long range. Given that all bows have 10 range increments and point blank shot is from 10 to 50 feet ((which is way too short for a real long bow, a re-curve bow, or a compound bow) my 42 pound re-curve bow has a point blank range of 30 YARDS), How can the ten range increments be broken down into Point Blank, Short, Medium and Long ranges and shouldn't there only be penalties at medium (-2) range and Long (-4) range? |
