"I agree with Castiel. My preferred course of action is to end our explorations here today, return to the village and warn the villagers that further trouble is coming. This place is clearly haunted, and the haunts are equally clearly aggressive and malignant. We should try to fortify parts of the town against further nightly incursions by the shambling dead; then, once that's been accomplished, we can return here over the following days and clear out the infestation of unquiet spirits. However, our first priority should be to safeguard those that still live."

"Ugh! That stung a bit." Undeterred, Myron slashes at the ectoid that wounded him.

Attack versus the closest ecto-slimer 12+3=AC 15, damage 2d6+1=10.

Disable device 11+7=18, which is not enough. Can I sit down and take 20? It'll take 10 minutes or so...

"Yum, biscuits!" Myron helps himself to one; munching contentedly, he wanders over to the safe. "Very nice... *chew*chew* Now, let's see if we can get this baby open..."

Perception 11+7=18 to check out the safe and its immediate surroundings. Disable Device 13+7=20 to open it.

"Meh. Nice and solid - we might need to chop it down with axes. Unless someone brought a battering ram?" Myron looks the party over. "Didn't think so. Let me check the mechanism first..."

Disable device 11+7=18, just to see if it is the lock that's keeping the door shut. I can't finesse open a ghost-held door, after all.

"Interesting. Just in case the fires become more real over time and we need to make a quick escape..." Myron walks back to the door, inserts his greatsword between the door and the frame and shoves, testing the structural integrity of the construction.

"Could be ghosts, could be actual people in actual pain. Either way it merits investigation." Myron nods at Castiel and Rholf. "Lead on. I'll follow right behind - and let me open all and any doors we encounter, just in case they are trapped or unsound."

Earlier, Myron has helped himself to a heavy crossbow. "Nice. A portable arbalest! This is more my thing. Needs a bit of work to return to proper working condition, though."

"A question." He squats down next to the runic gibberish. "Assuming you're right - if the runes called up the dead, shouldn't they be returned to their rest if we scrub out the rest of the writing?"

Attack roll 12+4=touch AC 16. The bomb hits the rat in C12, dealing 1d6+3=8 points of damage. Splash damage equals minimum damage, so all rats within 5' take 4 points of damage, with a Reflex save DC 14 halving that. Sadly, I don't have the Explosive bomb discovery, so they don't catch fire.

Wod prepares an action to smack the first rat the runs out the door.

"Hey, careful there, Drood, I... GAAAAAH!" Myron disappears underneath a cloud of dust and debris. "Ah. I'M RIGHT NEXT TO THE STAIRS! There's an old bookcase on top of me, I think."

"I'M ENTERING THE ROOM TO THE LEFT! The damn stair's too rickety to support me and my armour!" Myron carefully makes his way into the next room. G@%%%!ned rats. Someone needs to burn this place down...

"OK. I'll do the second floor first, just to get it out of the way. I'll yell out which room I'm in whenever I enter a new one, in case you need to dig me out."

Myron carefully walks inside. "ENTRYWAY! I'm looking for a staircase!"

I can be the trapspringer for now - I actually have pretty decent Perception and Disable Device skills.

Myron's updated; he's wearing full plate and carries a greatsword.

I'm taking that fighter level. Rolled 8 for hit points and put a skill rank into Climb, Handle Animal, Intimidate, Know (dungeoneering and engineering), Ride and Survival. My new feat is Dodge.

Finally, I'm helping myself to a set of platemail and a greatsword.

After getting my zombie-reaping sickle, I'm headed up to the graveyard to map out which graves produced zombies and see if I can find any kind of pattern. What kind of skill check, if any, would that be?

"Ooooh, coffee. Good coffee, even!" Myron quickly downs a mug, then helps himself to another one. "One thing that zombie-hunting twerp did demonstrate yesterday is that I am poorly armed; my poor spear is badly suited to dealing with the shuffling, restless dead. I'm headed off to the blacksmith for something with a cutting edge to it. After that, I'd suggest we map out which graves erupted - there might be a pattern to this madness."

I'm going to buy myself a sickle - it is the only slashing simple weapon out there.

"Keep your boots close by. We might need to run out quickly again." Myron looks up at the overcast night sky. "Too wet to sleep on the roof, though. I want some creature comforts now that I have rejoined the civilised world."

"What kind of idiot put a zombie in the stocks? Just burn them up, scatter the ashes and move on." Shaking his head, Myron proceeds to do just that.

"Sounds like good plan," Myron nods to Alinya. "The walking dead are mindless, right? They wouldn't be hanging out in the professor's stdy, reading philosophy and sipping brandy anyway."

Myron has been quiet after the fight with the zombies, shaking off the aftereffects of his alchemical draught. He shakes his head at the grim old granny as he walks past her. "Your grandson is not a good boy," he mutters to her. "He is a useless little t%!~, and Wod would have saved you a lot of future disappointments had he cleft the dumb sod in half."

"Urgh. The undead bastard got in a lucky shot." With a grimace, Myron gets off the floor. He quaffs a small bottle of murky liquid before utilising his temporary size and strength to move the dead bodies to the side of the room.

"I'll carry them upstairs. Some fresh air should to the two them good."

I'm gulping my Cure light wounds extract, regaining 1d8+1=7 hit points. I'm only down one, so use any healing on someone else.

Myron lobs another bomb into the scrum.

This one hits the MN 11-12 intersection. Sorry 'bout your dog, Nigel, but burning zombies takes precedence. Attack roll 11+3=touch AC 14, damage 1d6+3=7 fire.

From his sitting position, Myron tosses a bomb at the face of the zombie next to him.

The bomb hits the KJ 10-11 intersection. Attack roll 13+3=touch AC 16, damage 1d6+3=8 fire.

Mega-Myron leans forward and rams his spear into the chest of one of the zombies menacing Wod and the fallen divines.

5' step to KL 12-13. I attack the zombie in O11. Attack roll 13+3=AC 16, damage 2d6+6=15. My current AC is 18, BTW.
