Myroft continues to analyze the bugbear's combat tactics. I think that's round 5/7 for bardic performance.

In between his comments he can be heard to mutter something else. He fishes a small pat of butter out of a pouch on his belt and tosses it toward the bugbear. Grease DC 14 on the bugbear's weapon.

Dark Archive

Mycroft manages to deduce some of the bugbear's special abilities which he shares with the group, while he's at it he begins another a discourse on the strengths and weaknesses of bugbears in combat.

Move 20' Standard action: begin bardic performance 'naturalist' +1 attacks, +1 ac. vs bugbear. round 4/7

Dark Archive

Mycroft hustles forward to take cover behind a pillar and get a better look at the enemy.

Ready to go.

Dark Archive

Mycroft doesn't like jumping. he takes a deep breath, shuts his eyes and attempts to jump over the chasm.

Mycroft moves closer and takes a shot with his bow.

Forgot to mention I'm attacking goblin #2

Dark Archive

Do the pipes on the map constitute any kind of cover or obstruction?

Mycroft darts forward and fires a shot from his bow.

Dark Archive

Mycroft will target the square between the three, trying to catch them all in the 10' burst.

Dark Archive

"Uh wow, Is that wise Kam... Nevermind!" As the tengu leaps over the gap Mycroft rushes forward to bring the goblins into view and casts a spell.

Sleep DC 14 I guess the exact targeting would depend on intiative.

Dark Archive

"Ahem, Joof I do not know who Zarongel is but I would be pleased to lean about him or her in detail. In the future. For now I hope very much that you and Zarongel would allow me to take one of those?

"Ermm, Ekkie? What exactly would you do with one of those flasks?"

Mycroft tentatively tries to take on of the alchemist's fire flasks.

Dark Archive

"He's getting awa... Oh my he's fast!"
Mycroft ceases his oratory about the strengths and weaknesses of goblins.

end bardic performance

As Yarak buzzes past him he whips around and fires off a shot with his short bow at near point blank range.

Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Wonderful.

He is totally unable to track the speeding goblin and badly bungles the release of his arrow, sending it in completely the wrong direction.

Dark Archive

Mycroft keeps talking, "See! We can use their rashness against them!

He fires an arrow at the remaining 'normal' goblin.

I'm assuming he's under soft cover.

I don't know if an archivist bard needs to make a knowledge check if he has previously identified an enemy but I'll make one to be safe.

Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 Ack! Not sure if that's good enough, or if you can take 10 on a knowledge check in this circumstance. Presuming he can, Mycroft starts his performance. +1 to hit and AC to all allies in 30 feet

Mycroft once again begins a quick running assessment of the tactical situation. "Remember they're not to sophisticated but they're cunning!"

Dark Archive

ready, I swear I posted earlier.

Dark Archive

"More of the same. Nothing for it but to move on. Doubtless we'll encounter a few more goblins sooner or later."

Dark Archive

"Well, I'm not certain if that's disappointing or a relief. Shall we move on?/"

Dark Archive

"As long as we are careful to insure the Marauders are properly dealt with I support that strategy."

Dark Archive

"Well, that was invigorating. Shame about the hostilities but some creatures are so difficult to talk sense into. It's very luck for us that we encountered so reasonable a goblin as Ekkie." Presuming the pit does indeed close Mycroft will trot along after his comrades.

Dark Archive

Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 To identify the goblins.

Mycroft runs forward and takes a look at the goblins. "Ah yes! Local sewer goblins! Peasky creatures. They're quick but they telegraph their movements with their eyes! Mycroft launches into a detailed breakdown of how to target the goblins and anticipate their attacks.

Bardic Performance: Naturalist. +1 to Attack Rolls and AC vs the goblins for allies within 30 feet of Mycroft.

Dark Archive

With his shortbow out Mycroft moves forward trying to clear the corner and open a line of fire on the goblins.

Dark Archive

Mycroft nods nervously. "Ready to proceed." He whispers. "Though it pains me to say it most goblins are less reasonable than our new friend here. We should seize the advantage of surprise and attack."

Dark Archive

"Eh, yes. Quite happy to have you Ekkie!"

Myrcroft delicately tries to position himself towards the rear of the group.

Dark Archive

Mycroft peers into the sewer entrance and sighs a little. "Of course it was going to come to something like this sooner or later... I would still have prefered later." Then he follows his fellow pathfinders into the dark.

Dark Archive

"Oh yes well that does seem a problem." Mycroft bobs his head. "Lucky for you we came along then. Any goblin capable of such relatively organized mayhem certainly needs to be dealt with."

Dark Archive

"Ah good, thank you Ekkie! Mycroft smiles and indicates the wayfinder. "I don't suppose we could have that back? And do you have anything else that you've taken from other houses. We'll need to return everything to their proper owners."

Mycroft blinks at Heidmarch's words. "Uh yes we are still in the process of learning everything we can from our new friend here. As our tengu associate says it seems she's acting at the behest of another goblin who himself serves an unnamed and unknown superior. What is clear is that there is an active group of goblin thieves in the vicinity who have a particular interest in obtaining a wayfinder."

Dark Archive

Mycroft looks bemused.

"Well that Versevosh fellow sounds terrible. I'm sure, eh, Plarg is much more pleasant. Um, can you show us what it is you were supposed to take?"

Dark Archive

"Eat you! Oh miss I don't know what you've heard from this ah, Plarg, fellow but we don't eat anybody."

Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

"Why don't you come along inside? We can talk about why you were looking through things that don't belong to you. Fellows, do you want to escort our guest inside?"

Mycroft stops to think.

"Um, say, is Plarg around here now?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Dark Archive

Mycroft again yells from the window, speaking in goblin. .

"I'm sorry but we just can't let you go without asking some questions. If you come quietly now I promise you will not be harmed. As you can see we have not used lethal force yet!

Not sure if that's diplomacy or intmidate.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Not a great result regardless.

His words are rushed and lack conviction.

Dark Archive

A goblin!

"Ah miss... wait!

Mycroft pulls his shortbow out and rushes to the edge of the window shouting in goblin.

"Please wait, or I will be forced to shoot you down."

Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Knowledge (local) identify: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Dark Archive

"Um, yes I agree Joof! Very nice."

Mycroft perks up a little at the sound of a game. "That sounds very ni..." The he tilts his head and looks toward the stairs. "Say did you all hear something from upstairs? Is anyone else supposed to be here?"

Mycroft starts moving towards the stairs.

Dark Archive

A bookish looking halfling bustles in an looks around.

"Well yes this will do nicely!"

He marches up to each of his fellow pathfinders and offers his hand. "Mycroft! Mycroft Anselm. Call me Mycroft! Pleased to meet you."

At meeting a fellow halfling he smiles. "Ah yes, um, Joof! I'm new here. I'd be pleased to hear whatever you have to say about Maginmar."

In his downtime after any introductions are complete Mycroft sits down with a notebook and begins recording his observations for the day, in tiny neat handwriting.
