Not sure on full details yet, but I'm going to go with a single class Wizard, something I've wanted to do for ages, but it never really worked out.
Also from the interest thread. Dotting til I get home, so I have time to consider.
Thanks for running this.
Ok, now I'm DEFINITELY interested. That teaser for a game run by Dread?
Sold.
Hmmm. You had me at Megadungeon. lol. Yeah, interested.
I see more than a few posts regarding Rise of the Runelords on the boards. Anyone considering or willing to consider running RETURN of the Runelords?
Would seriously love to get into a game like that.
Humbly, I will withdraw from this recruitment, and not waste anyone's time. The dwarf cleric I envisioned for this just isn't working for me, and anything else I'd offer up would just be filler. And there are many more viable and interesting applicants in the list.
So have fun, people, and kick ass. :D

@Mr Nevets: You can add racial modifers to the 18. Others have already done so. If you're asking if racial modifiers can be moved that's a no.
The former, and thanks.
NOT looking to munchkin here, but since I'm considering a Dwarven cleric, is 18 the max for ability Stats, or will racial bonuses increase it to 20? I ask, since I'd like that 18 to end up in Wisdom, and a dwarf gets a +2 there. Can any be shifted?
If it's an issue I'll just pick another race.
Consider me intrigued. Would totally be interested in a 1e version of this. Cool premise.
If you ever decide to run a PbP version, I'd be interested, but don't have the bandwidth at the moment for a live game.
I'd definitely be open to playing Ekundayo, if he's needed.
Haven't played 2e at all yet, though I've been itching to do so. This might be a good time to jump in, eh?
Will have a look at the rules and whatnot and get back to you.
In any event, Welcome!
Leaning towards rolling a human Barbarian. Is there a specific ethnicity that would make sense for the region?
I know next to nothing about that AP, but would definitely be game to submit a character. I'd be willing to toss a martial character into the hat.
Dotting. Very cool. Definitely interested, likely as a Ranger of some sort.

Vaeldon- we won't be using the 3pp non lethal force feat, but there are several feats (and maybe even a trait or two) that let you deal non lethal damage with no attack roll penalty (bludgeoner is the first one that jumps to mind). That said, with 200g and proficiency in all martial weapons, spending 1g on a sap for if/when you have to subdue townsfolk may really be your best bet? (Aside from the RP angle of being in the watch, I'm planning to follow the AP pretty faithfully, so there actually won't be that many times when it comes up, I don't think.) Wasn't sure how much of a factor it might be, and was trying to think like a paly/policeman. :D That said, a sap it is.
Giant Halfling wrote:
Anyone still looking for a 'different' concept- As I've said previously, I'm not super concerned about filling traditional party rolls for this game but if you're looking for unexplored build space one thing that we don't seem to really have yet is a force multiplier? One person mentioned multiclassing into skald but I don't think they've made an actual submission yet, and Orin was thinking about maybe taking bard levels but I think he changed his mind about that. There's a number of archetypes (and even base classes) that give martial classes some party buffs if anyone is interested in being a support type character?
I had considered an Inspiring Commander cavalier archetype before realizing it was also 3PP, with exactly that in mind.
Hmmm. Do we have anyone leaning towards a roguish role after 2nd level? Trapfinding and sneaking?
Giant Halfling wrote: Nevets- I specifically mentioned Abandar (and Erastil) as being options for a paladin because that seemed like the most logical fit for someone who also joined the watch but there are other options if you want to look at them. Erastil, Sarenrae, Shelyn, and Abadar are all worshiped at the Cathedral in Sandpoint (alongside Desna and Gozreh) and all 4 of them can have paladin followers. There’s also the shrine of Irori if you want to make an Iroran paladin. Thanks. I think I'll stick with Abandar. It does indeed fit.
Giant Halfling wrote:
Mr Nevets- The cathedral in Sandpoint (where the shrine of Abadar is) is dominated by good gods (there are 6 worshiped there and 4 are good; only Abadar and Gozreh are neutral) so it would seem kind of weird for that to be Brother Crispin's objection (Brother Pelius Crispin being the NPC I just invented to serve as the local priest of Abadar). What if the brother was like a cloistered cleric, much more interested in economics and trade than combat, so he suggested joining the watch (in addition to your religious training) as a means of answering your clearly more militaristic calling in a manner consistent with the Lord of the First Vault.
Ah. I have never played through this AP and hadn't realized that Abadan wasn't the only option, and was trying to come up with a reason that my paladin would be nudged out. ;) I'm totally good with your recommendation and will adjust accordingly.

Hey, GH,
Still working on the actual character sheet and background, but as a concept, I'm going to be submitting a Paladin of Abadar. His father will be a merchant and scribe who is well known for his artistry in caligraphy and who has at times worked for the Temple. He is a devout follower of Abadar and he and his wife offered their son for training in the ways of the church. The boy was obviously gifted and blessed by the "God of the First Vault", and accepted by the clergy as an aspiring knight.
However, during his training he proved to be inclined far more toward "Good" than "Law", and has a merciful streak that the LN Abbot/Bishop/(*Whomever the GM wants in charge of him) finds distasteful and distressing. Still, the young paladin continues to exhibit abilities that prove he has not lost the favor of Abadar, and so the Abbot* strongly suggests that this young knight would prove far more valuable to the body of followers as a member of the Watch, specifically as a representative of Abadar's justice.
...or something like that.
Reasonable or am I way off?

This adventure is short like 8 encounters or less, so I figure it'll be done around or before the first Week in August., if we have a good posting rate.
I'll stick with these rules, no worries. ;) They're well thought out and reasonable.
I'll be ready and willing to go. :)
What a clever idea to run it this way. Count me interested.
Dotting for now while I consider my choices.
EDIT: What would you think of a character training to be a Paladin, if that class is problematic for this? Say, starting as a Fighter and becoming a Paladin at 2nd level?

Negotiations are underway...
* cryptic GM comment is cryptic *
And you will, of course, oblige them, no? :D
Leaving the ol' homestead is never easy. The transition can be quite jarring.
Tara Ravenheart wrote: @Mr Nevets 4+3d6, drop lowest? So your maximum was 16 without racial modifiers? Interesting. Far less interesting when I admit that I typed that wrong and it's supposed to be a 6+ rather than a 4+. LOL

I will say that if there is any adventure path to play a paladin in, this is the one. We'd almost be doing a disservice to the campaign as a whole if we didn't have some kind of paladin with us on it.
Totally agreed, and will definitely be one of likely several people submitting Paladin characters for review.

RHMG Animator wrote: yeah, we are Waiting on the GM to post up the full Character Creation Rules. Wow. Loving the response, and I guess that answers my questions about there being interest in this. Unfortunately, I'm not ready to roll with this just yet, but will be soon, probably in August when my workload slows down. Didn't mean to insinuate otherwise.
So, basically what I'll do is post an actual recruitment then, and give you guys all first shot at a spot in the party.
Just a quick comment: I'm fine with however you choose to do attributes, but personally a fan of rolling them. (4+3d6, drop lowest die was our group's usual way)
Very interested indeed. I also missed out on the aforementioned 300 post recruitment-cut, and would love another shot at this.
No worries, Gimmy. Do what you need to do. We'll be here.
It's a first level crawl with some investigation and opportunity for rping and diplomacy. Pretty standard setting, (Dalelands in FR or Furyondy in Greyhawk), with an ancient keep/citadel that as a result of an earthquake ages ago has fallen deep into a fissure in the earth.
While I've run games for years on tabletop, (though not recently, to be fair) and I'm really not sure if I'm up for it here, yet...I just can't get the idea out of my head to run something, y'know?
I figured I'd look around and see what I might be interested in offering, and I stumbled upon this classic from the relaunch of 3.5 D&D. I remember those days and new and exciting, and frankly, fun.
So, even though a quick search shows that this has indeed been run here before, would anyone be interested in delving into the Sunless Citadel? As a starting point, I think I'd go with all Base and Core classes and races, but without Archetypes. Probably 20 pt build.
Again, this is just an interest check at this point...and opening for discussion.

[Dice=rolls]6+3d6
[Dice=rolls]6+3d6
[Dice=rolls]6+3d6
[Dice=rolls]6+3d6
[Dice=rolls]6+3d6
[Dice=rolls]6+3d6
Edit: * grin * I can work with that. Leaning towards making a Barbarian...not sure on the race yet.
So, dropping the lowest die:
rolls: 6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (1, 5, 6) = 18 [17]
rolls: 6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (1, 2, 6) = 15 [14]
rolls: 6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (1, 1, 6) = 14 [13]
rolls: 6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (2, 1, 1) = 10 [9]
rolls: 6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (1, 1, 4) = 12 [11]
rolls: 6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (4, 4, 6) = 20 [16]
Question from above, and checking for myself:
Rolling 3d6 + 6 and dropping the lowest, yes? Not keeping the total?
Ok, can't resist both the rolling and the possibility of getting in on this classic!
rolls: 6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (1, 5, 6) = 18

Congrats to the selected! Well done!
See the rest of you around the boards.
Dot. Rather interested if it's Rebels.
Need to think on this a bit.
Hell's Rebels? Definitely interested. Less so with Vengeance.
Tuesday is a long way away. lol

Ouch. That ALWAYS hurts, Grimmy.
You have my sympathies.
GM Trifty wrote: Thanks for keeping us in the loop Grimmy, I'm still excited.
@Nevets do you have any ideas on how we met? Obviously at an academy together, but like, how exactly? I will work on developing my character a bit more if you want to wait and see what I've got. Maybe you helped me with some reading assignment (as I had imagined my character being dyslexic) and in exchange my character helped you make a friend or get laid or something like this. And then from there we were just friends. Don't want to box you in so let me know if that doesn't work for you.
@Albion maybe we met at a tavern or whatever and my character just loved teasing you a bunch. And then when Nevets and I decided to track down the prophecy person we asked you to come with us for protection, plus maybe you also took an interest? Or not? Maybe something completely different? Again, don't want to box you in.
As for how we met at the Academy, Trifty, I simply LOVE the idea of my wizard tutoring your character because of her dyslexia. I wasn't originally intending to go all "haughty elf spellcaster", but more and more, I'm digging it. He likely wouldn't be helping out of the kindness of his heart, but instead because of the challenge it would give him, as well as the thought that he might somehow be able to make use of the fundamentals of the ailment as a code cypher or something.
The idea of Albion jumping in to help us out of a scrape would do much to endear him to my wizard as well...or since he's a dwarf, at least help the elf to see the value in keeping him around? :)
EDIT: Just saw Grimmy's comment on this and we can go with whatever works.
Grimmy, Has our starting level been decided for sure? Any other details? (Or was that in the ill-fated, lost post?
Should we eventually be on the lookout for a new game recruitment thread or will it be through this one?
Wyniess Morgethai wrote: Huh! No Marshall trait at all? Weird!
Wyniess could work with that trait I think. She's a child of the crusade already, it's just a different crusade somewhere else.
Likewise, I would be willing to play Khaleros as a Child of the Crusade as well if that'd help.
Really. Very interesting. I think I like that.
I've only played in a couple of one-shots with 5e, so I'm really interested to see the interaction of classes.
As one of the aforementioned "bookish types", my elven wizard would also appreciate having a meatshield...er, skilled warrior...along.
:)
Still here, whether 5e or Pathfinder.
Grimmy wrote: Hilarious!
No, I was thinking like "according to the chart the fiend-child has already taken birth... 27 years ago! In this backwater town here on the map... well how far could he have made it from there?" or some-such..
And yeah a straight-man and a conspiracy nut would be great contrast.
How do you think they would view the thiefling? A threat to all existence? A key to save the world? An annoying baby-sitting task? Haha.
Tell me what you guys think. Could be a good bit.
What else?
LOVE this idea, all the way around! Definitely like the concept of the wizardly elf taking the prophecies seriously, mostly because it COULD be real, and bears investigation.
