F Human Bard (archaeologist) 1

Sorry for the delay, y'all. I'm usually fairly regular in my posting. I had an event going on yesterday that stopped me from checking the recruitment thread, though. Am I still in?

I will be submitting Morgan Allegretti for your possible selection. Archaeologist Bard, so she fills the skill monkey / trapfinder role rather than the normal bard support role. It's not an optimal build, but I like her anyways.

I made this alias a couple years ago for a S&S game that died 3 posts in. Let's give this a try again. I've adjusted her to fit your character creation guidelines. Morganna fills the "skill monkey" role of a party, providing an assortment of skills, bardic knowledge, and trapfinding (at level 4). She's rather combat oriented, since the lack of Inspire Courage means she has to pick up the slack in combat herself rather than contributing through passive bonuses to her allies.

Roleplay-wise, Morganna(goes by Morgan) is a self-confident risk taker who has some issues with pride. She has few ties to her past and enjoys her lack of obligation to others. She's impulsive, but isn't dumb. She will wait until the time is right for her plan, but not a moment longer.

The Night Before!:
Morganna lifts her cards to hide a small smile. The air is stale, the table is rotting, and the cards are grimy, but the mound of copper in the center of the group is at the largest it's been all night. It's a low stakes game, mostly to pass the time, but the thrill of possible money is always enough to draw her in.

No magic, seven card draw, pass two, shuffle three. Strange house rules, to be sure, but sailors have more variant card games than types of knots. As Morganna raises one last time, her last opponent folds, exclaiming, "I see that smirk, Morgan! You read like a book!" Morganna laughs and collects the coins, revealing a pair of goblins as her hand.

She stands up, deciding to quit while she's ahead. A double-bluff only works once, anyways. "It's been fun, but I should stop now. I still have another week while the Kelp Runner repairs, and I'd hate to go broke so soon."

She looks around as she walks up to the bar, taking stock of how the evening has progressed throughout the tavern. She drains a tankard of ale slowly, content to watch the people around her for a while. 'Must be "recruitment" night for some ship,' she muses to herself, noticing a couple men, obviously drugged, being "helped" out of the tavern. 'I guess that's my cue. I rather like my current ship.' She refuses a drink offered to her as she makes her way out of the Formidably Maid, suspicious that it too is drugged.

An hour later, Morganna is sitting on the docks, watching the moon's reflection over the harbor. Only three days at port so far, and she's already itching to be out on the sea again. Suddenly there's a dull pain on the back of her head, and the water below seems to be getting closer. Darker. She doesn't hear her own splash, nor feel the hands pulling her out and dragging her across the docks, but once she wakes up, she will definitely appreciate the irony of her situation.

I'm gonna say this one seems to be dead.

By room, I meant deck. Wasn't really thinking in terms of ships for some reason XD

Morgan clambers up the stairs as attention turns away from the loud girl. She tries to take stock of the room at the top quickly as she moves forward to let everyone else up.

Everything okay, Wulfson?

Morgan pauses on the stairs with her "escort," glancing back down at the loud girl who hasn't been grabbed yet. She must not have grown up on the streets. Judging by the look of these men, they're a bad sort. Got to keep your head down, don't stir up too much trouble. Acting before you know what's going on? That's bad.

The trait I took implies that I was sapped on the docks rather than drugged in the nearby tavern, so I'll go with that for now.

Morgan's mind races as she processes the words of the shouting man. I don't even know a Captain Harrigan, and what is he doing on- Oh. The events of last night come flooding back into her mind as she is hauled to her feet, the jolt making a lump on her head from last night painfully obvious. Well, I wanted to be back at sea, I guess. Finding a small amount of irony in her situation, a grim smile plays on her lips as she stumbles up the stairs to see what future awaits her.

She takes quick stock of her situation. Clothes? Check. Equipment? Nope. Ship? Check. The question now is whose ship, and what destination.

Knowledge (Local) to see if this Captain Harrigan is someone of note that Morgan may have heard rumors or tales about on the docks:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

That's what he said in the recruitment thread, yeah.

Yep. After several days, I'm still surprised I got picked. This is going to be great.

Anyone heard from Nark's player? I checked his alias and he got Nark into another PbP. Is he still planning on being in this one?

F Human Bard (archaeologist) 1

Will do.

Since we're talking about ourselves: I started playing D&D in 2007 with 3.5, moved to 4E when it came out, and then switched to Pathfinder during its open beta.

I've DMed several campaigns since then, and I'm currently in a Carrion Crown campaign as a player. My job as a technical developer in DFW gives a good deal of spare time though, so I've joined two PbPs (this makes number 2). I have a decent amount of spare time at my job, so I'll be checking decently often.

This should be really fun. It must have been a pretty hard decision to narrow down the characters. Thanks for picking Morgan as one of them!

Should I finish buying starting equipment? I'm unsure if it matters for this campaign or not.

Just about finished other than picking out a few things for starting equipment (not that it really matters for this AP, from what I've heard). Other than that, I'm ready to fill out the skillmonkey slot in a party with the very well-rounded and capable Morgan. :)

Let's make it 35. This character is still a work in progress. Basically, she's a human bard (archaeologist). I went through a bunch of concepts and this one finally clicked with me.
