"Well, that was just the best day ever! Wasn't it?" she asks her companions after they land back in Highdelve. "My sister won't believe a word of this!"

"Well, what a beautiful gift! Thank you!" Molly gushes. "Oh, when we get back home I am going to sing your praises all through Absalom!"

Hello everyone. This weekend is Thanksgiving so I will very likely be unable to fit in a post. I’ll be back to regular posting on Tuesday. Thanks for understanding, and I hope you have a great weekend!

"Well, hi there! You sure are magnificent! The tales don't do you justice!" Molly grins. She holds out the amulet to the dragon.

Molly keeps singing, hoping to inspire her comrades even if she can't hit the broad side of the barn. Then she takes another shot at the ettin.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 - 4 = 7
Piercing Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Molly sings as she moves over and fires an arrow at the ettin! Maintaining inspire courage.

Molly continues to sing as she takes a shot at the ettin with her bow. Inspire courage!

But she's not much of an archer.

Molly shrieks in pain as the javelin tears right through her. She staggers back a step and begins to sing a song of thanks to Nei.

Inspire courage. Allies within 30 feet get a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.

"It's the Brightbloom Ettin!" Molly exclaims. "Why, I thought he only existed in stories! He's a two-headed giant! Though this poor guy looks rather weak."

She smiles helpfully.

Molly gives the kids a pointed look. "You two have better behave out here." She puts her rope away and heads into the cave.

"Well, I suppose I can stay in the back, if you like." Molly replies. "Lead on then, you two." She pulls out her bow.

In addition to the dancing lights spell, Molly has darkvision 60 ft. She also has stonecunning, allowing her a free check to notice unusual stonework, such as traps and hidden doors located in stone walls or floors. Her perception modifier on those auto checks is +3. She'll proceed in the back with Tera while in the cave, and have her bow in hand.

Molly shrugs. "The decision is yours. But, if you're not under our protection you're under arrest. That town you hate so much will get to decide your fate. Hold out your hands."

Molly pulls out a rope and ties up the kids. She has every intention of leading them around for the rest of the adventure by this rope.

"And for your information, we have this fella's journal. He's using you, and he called you stupid. You really should choose your friends with more care, hon."

Clearly Molly is not impressed with their attitude.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

"Oh, hush your mouth! There's bravery in knowing when you've been beaten." She nods her head matter of factly. "Besides. We already told you. We're from the Pathfinders. We came to check on you two, and look what we find! Manipulated by some foul demon worshipper into hurting the people and the town who have sheltered you! You should be ashamed of yourselves!" Molly gives a shake of her head and makes a "Tsk, tsk, tsk." sound.

She sighs. "You two need a new start. Help us now, and tell us everything you know. Then we'll bring you with us to Absalom. We can get you entered into the Pathfinder training program. It's tough work, but you'll gain independence, learn the value of teamwork, and get to explore the world. Hopefully they'll knock some sense into you. How's that sound?"

She crosses her arms and waits for an answer.

Molly swings her axe at Tolwin.

Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 1 = 15
Slashing Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9

Molly lets her sad song about revenge to a close. Then she swings her axe at Tolwin.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Slashing Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

"You really should give up, dear. This doesn't need to go on."

Molly slides her lute behind her (it's on a guitar strap) and draws her axe. As she does she pulls the arrow out of her shoulder and drops it to the ground. She sings: "You'll be sorrrrrryyyyyy!" Maintaining inspire courage as a free action and takes a careful step forward.

Then Molly swings her axe at Tolwin.

Slashing Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 = 10

Molly continues to pluck away at her lute, then she begins to sing a song -- a sad little song, about a pair of angry children who only wanted to belong but went too far. As she sings she strides forward, walking right up to the kids.

"Sat down and cried today... Just put the weapon awaaaaaaay... Causing pain won't make your huuuuurt go awaaaaaaaay..."

Maintaining inspire courage as a move action, then moving over to the kids.

Molly sighs. "Well, that's not very nice at all!" She pulls out her lute and begins to strum a happy tune. "You know when I'm angry, I find it's best to sing a little song. All together! Won't that be nice?"

"Gather round, and calm on down, put down that sword and smiiiiiile!"

Inspire courage. Everyone gets +1 attack and damage and saves against fear.

As Molly sings she dances closer to the kids.

"We're from the Pathfinder Society. We were going to offer you a chance to head back to Absalom with us and sign up, if you wanted, but now you're all messed up in this: giving holy relics to evil cultists thing, so we're going to have to have a little chat first. Yeah?" After a moment she pulls out her lute and starts to strum a little tune. "Chatting is so much nicer than forcing us to fight you, sugarplum. Trust me."

Molly waves hello to the boy and girl hiding behind the rock. "Hi there! Tolwin? Richelle? Is that you? Come out and chat, would you, dears?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Molly makes her way through the flowers towards the cave.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

Not sure if those perception spoilers above are still in effect or they're different. I might have found something cool...? Haha.

"Well, hi there, Acel! I'm Molly. This fellow over here is Tera -- he's a sweetheart, I promise. And that handsome dwarf back there is Nei." She offers Acel a handshake. "I'm a waitress down at the Wounded Wisp, and a singer." she nods proudly. "This will be my second mission! We're here to watch little Tolwin and Richelle, too, and let me tell you! It seems like those little scamps are up to no good! They tried to rig the Bloomblossom festival, and then attacked the Bloomgivers, stole their protective amulet, and handed it off to some demon worshipper. Apparently there's something she's raising in a cave. We're just on our way to check out the cave outside. Hopefully that's the right one. You ready to come along, hon?"

"Oh, dearie me!" Molly exclaims. She puts her hands on her hips, looking rather like a mother, and grins. "Why, you're a Pathfinder, aren't you? I've seen you around the Grand Lodge!" she nods. "I never forget a face! Come on in, sugar, let's get you up!" She helps Acel up to her feet and dusts her off. "There. Good as new! Now, tell me, how in the heavens did you get in there?"

Chcking it out.

"Well, would you look at this! A secret compartment! That's so exciting. You know, I think it's my first one!" She smiles, then sings a quick refrain and examines the potions for magical auras. Casting detect magic.

Spellcraft (potions): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Spellcraft (scroll): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

"Hmmm... These potions have got me stumped, but this scroll is interesting! It can shoot a ray of fire at your enemies. It's not something I could make work, though." (Scroll of scorching ray, which is not on my spell list.)

She places the scroll in her pack (unless someone wants it) and then reads the journal. "Well, I'll be! The woman who wrote this worships demons and wants to protect a 'beast in the cave.' So she tricked those poor kids into getting her the amulet!" Molly passes the journal onto the others and puts her hands on her hips. "We need to stop this woman and her beast! I wonder if Richelle and Tolwin know where she went, or where the caves are..." She snaps her fingers. "There's a cave just outside! Maybe that's the one. Shall we check it out?"

Molly wanders over to the bedroll, daggers and food. She picks up the daggers and rations and puts it all in her pack.

Then she wanders through the cabin, giving the place a good, thorough search.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

"I don't suppose either of you boys are good trackers, are you?" Molly heads back outside and gestures at the footprints. "I lose them at the rocks, I'm afraid."

"We're just here to talk!" Molly calls out kindly from behind Nei. "And maybe share a song or two!"

Thanks, Tera. I'll take the blunt arrows. That gives me 20 total.

"Why, that's a lovely idea!" Molly remarks with a smile. "Nei? Why don't you lead the way and I'll be right behind you."

I'm adding myself to the map instead of the pre-gens. Did you also want us to fill out the perception and initiative boxes?

"Of course! Let's be off, then!"

Oh, I get what the Bloomdgivers say happened. But when the youths tell her this do they seem to be honest and clear in their story? Molly just wanted to hear them say it so she could watch them closely to see if they're telling the truth.

Molly approaches the youths and pulls them aside. Quietly she asks them to tell her exactly what happened -- slowly and thoroughly! As they talk Molly smiles and nods compassionately, but she's also watching to see if they're being honest, exaggerating, or if they're confused about any parts of their story.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

Then Molly smiles at them. "Don't you two worry about a thing. We'll handle everything."

Molly rejoins her companions. "Shall we?"

No specific questions for them, but she wants to hear them tell the whole story. Then she's ready to leave.

"Oh, now, now," Molly exclaims loudly, punctuating her words with a strum of her lute to get everyone's attention. "It's dangerous out there. And making decisions out of anger never helped anyone." She strums her lute a few more times. "Calm yourselves. Fetch a medic for the Bloomgivers and enjoy the rest of the festival. My companions and I are Pathfinders. We can retrieve the amulet, find out what's going on with Richelle and Tolwin, and handle anything that comes our way, besides!"

With a flourish, a brilliant smile, and a curtsy to the mayor, Molly asks, "Would you accept our aid, Madame Mayor? It would be our pleasure."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Molly grins up at the half-elf. "Why, Tera, you're sweeter than sugar!"

Molly tries her best not to fall off and land on her bum, but the odds are not in her favour.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Molly tumbles to the ground with a laugh. "You win, you win!"

She dusts herself off an tosses the kids four copper.

She looks at her companions. "Well, let's go find Richelle and Tolwin."

Molly smiles. "Well, why not! Looks fun!"

Molly climbs up to try playing the kids game with them.

"Why, those are the very two kids we're here to check in on! Of course I know something about those two scamps! Let me see here..."

After she shares her information on the cheaters with the others she points at some nearby kids. "They say they saw someone slinking around town with pale skin and horns. The watch scared him off apparently. Let's ask what happened."

Molly approaches the chattering youths and asks them all about what happened.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 2 = 12

Molly shrugs and goes back to wandering through the market. "Do you think we should go look for those Bloomgivers?" she asks Nei as she looks around for Tera. "A lot of people seem to be worried about them."

"Oh, what an honour!" Molly exclaims. "I can't wait to meet her! When do you expect them, dear? Are the bloomgivers often late?"

"Mmmm! THIS IS DELICIOUS!" Molly raves. She buys an extra one and grins. "Well worth the coin, Nei!"

Molly proceeds to eat her corn dogs with great enthusiasm!

"Dogs? Well, that's rare! Sure smells good, don't it? I'll have one corn dog, please."

Molly pays the man a silver piece.

"Oh, bravo! Bravo!" Molly exclaims as the puppet show comes to intermission. "A glimpse at genius, that was!"

At her fellow dwarf's suggestion, Molly grins. "Why, I would love to, Nei!"

She heads over to check out the food.

"Oh, look! A puppet theatre! Oh, I'd love to stay and watch the show. Come and join me for a sit, boys."

"Well, this festival is just the sweetest thing! I hear that the Bloomgivers are a little late this year, though. Poor dearies! I wonder if they're lost."

Molly also shares the information from those three spoilers with the group. Feel free to read all three, guys.

"Oh, of course we can share!" Molly assures the innkeeper with a brilliant smile. "Thank you for the cots, hon. That would be lovely!"

She gives the innkeeper a nod and gets settled into her room, then she heads down to the common room for dinner. She looks around with curious eyes. "What a lovely inn! The Wisp could learn a few things! Mark my words!" she chuckles, then realizes there's an open table and squishes past the other diners on her way to the table. As her food arrives, Molly smiles up at the waiter. "Why, thank you!"

Looking to her companions, she remarks, "Such wonderful service."

Clearly she's impressed.

She starts to eat her dinner with gusto.

I'm ready to start.

Molly smiles at Nei. "Well, ain't that the truth!" She gives Dreng a nod. "We will."

"Well, this sure is interesting! Check in on Richelle and Tolwin and see why they're misbehaving. And find out what we can about the missing relics, Gilda, the cult of Kossy-chi, and their plans for Aurelliax. Whooo! Sure is a mouthful!" Molly laughs pleasantly.

"Hmmm... I haven't heard of this Kost-chi-chitty fellow before. Who is he?"

Molly smiles brightly. "Of course, sir! I have heard all kinds of songs and stories in my time at the Wisp!" Looking at her companions she adds, "Let me tell you what I know! Knowledge plucked from the tongues of other Pathfinders, and passed on to you!"

"Now, Highdelve is a town of around 4,500 souls located in Brevoy, a country far to the north that's been embroiled in political squabbling for years! Long ago, Brevoy was two vastly different nations locked in a constant state of war. Then one day they were conquered by a despot. After centuries under the rule of a line of conquerors that only recently disappeared, Brevoy must now decide its own destiny." She smiles. "Interesting, huh? I thought so, at least. But, I should warn you. Being so far north, winters are long and harsh up in Brevoy. Hmm... I wonder what the weather will be like when we get there..." Is it winter there right now?

"As for Aurelliax, she's a gold dragon! If the stories I've heard are to be believed, she's lived for more than a century in the mountains near Highdelve. She admired the town’s tenacity, kind spirit, and generosity. Well, that little town warmed her kind heart! It's the truth!" she nods. "Shortly after Highdelve broke from House Garess, Aurelliax offer the humans her patronage and protection for free. Elated and humbled, the townspeople accepted—provided that Aurelliax never involved herself in the settlement’s internal affairs. After all, the Highdelvers did not wish to simply trade one overlord for another. Her motivations genuine and pure, Aurelliax assented. Time and time again Aurelliax has demonstrated her dedication to the town, and these days the townsfolk regard her with genuine affection. Isn't that nice?"

Molly gives a nod of her head and looks at the others with eagerness, clearly expecting at least one of them to have something interesting to add.
