Hey gang. I hate to say it but I'm really struggling to keep up on this thread. The game is awesome and I love the character, but between the 3 RL & Roll20 games I'm running, a podcast and video editing (not to mention the day job going 10 hrs per day latley) I'm going to have to step away for the time being. Startled awake by the warning, the monk is greeted with a burst of light. The illumination bathes the beatial form of a half man half tiger, blood dripping from its claws. He leaps to his feet and races to put himself between the animal and Pratavh. Along the way he focuses his Ki for added protection.

"The dark goddess is calling her servants south. Perhaps their final gambit is closer to hand than we'd like."

"We have two or three hours of travel on the day. I suggest we camp nearby, rest the animals, then set out at first light."

Mohktar spares a glance for the odd curator but turns back to the group to await their decision. In the back of his mind, the monk considers what would push a man to live alone in a place such as this isolated shrine. Was his duty passed down aso a part of his lineage? Or was it a calling of thus "central deity" to which he ascribes?

"Well done, Hirati. But what is this Vudrani writing here?" He hands the ring to Alwyn or Pratavh. But something catches his eye...

In a flash, Mohktar is heading towards the male laying face down in the muck. "Cover me in case of mischief..." He says as he moves to roll the body over. "...but I think this one still lives!"

Just verifying my math here...my normal AC is 22, -1 for the Enlarge, -1 for the dex penalty for enlarge, then +1 for Alwyn's haste spell. So that's a 21. Is that right? If itnks, then the slider missed the wily monk.

Don't forget Mohktar is super sized now. So he's git the 10 ft reach too. So if the desiccated guy moves nearby, I get a hit on him.

His bone and muscle and sinew expand as he leaps forward, Mohktar's body and weapon double in size as he lands within 10 ft of the now grappled and desiccated being. Mohktar finishes gathering his belongings and shakes his head. "A shortcut with such large animals does not seem sens..." He pauses and slips a glance to Bvar, keen to observe his sensibilities and pride. "...my vote is to follow Bala's advisement in this instance. His is the purview of these majestic animals. I should think he desire to take the road is in the interest of keeping them...battle worthy. In the opposing view, I would see that all considerations be given in the use of tactics and the ballista."

To hopefully dissuade major argument, Mohktar reports his sighting during watch. "A rider past in the night. Horseback, very fast. They took pains to avoid our camp. We should be cautious."

I posted my survival roll on the previous page as requested. As far as that goes, Mohktar would not have skill in the endeavour since all his out doors experience would be roughing it for purposes of self improvement. So no tents, etc. Plus be spent the last few years in Absalom. Lastly, he doesn't speak Vudrani so he remains quiet during the social moments.

Mohktar aids aa best he can with camp setup, following direction and doing anunheard lifting as matter of conditioning. Then he volunteers for first watch.

Monk Fashion | Day Before Departure
Mohktar excuses himself from the group for a time, electing to venture back the garment district to look in on Mistress Varunasi. Though the monk had little in the way of such cultural etiquette when it came to clothing, something told him visiting her would be of benefit. Before leaving he notifies the others, "If you recall, my friends, the Mistress Varunasi the clothier indicated she could provide us with specialty garments. While I had been searching for monk's robes..." Mohktar smiles and gives a chuckle. "I realized my allotment of blessings could not match the cost. But I did remember the clothier's offer. If any would wish to attend, I'll be going there today to see what is available."

Arriving at the shop, Mohktar enters and bows to the proprietor. "Mistress Varunasi, it is my honor to return to your establishment to view your creations. He presses his hands together and bows the namaste. "Master Bvar, surely a leader and warrior such as yourself, knowledgeable in the use of such fine equipment..." Mohktar gestures to the ballista. Even as he asks the question both men turn to see the gigantic waves approaching from the bay. "Our friends are down there, yes? They'd have used the acolytes' scrolls by now."

Mohktar springs forward, leveraging every ounce of speed granted him by the Master of masters. His foot presses outwards against the man's knee, turning it at an awkward angle of grant the monk room to slam into the would be assassin. His other leg comes up and slams into the man's elbow while his hands snake out to put his hand into a firm grip. His eyes go from the man's then to the area of his vest to spy what sort of object is held therein.

Going off of the 26 perception I rolled earlier for the other ahead, if things look clear, I'll head up to assist Skiho.

"Alwyn, Lilly, Pratavh, remain with the palanquin. The path ahead looks freer to the water." Mohktar cinches the straps on his haversack and scopes out a path upward to the roof and his friend.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 (spot a path up)

"If you're comfortable with this, I shall go and assist Shiko-san. Then we will move along the rooftops to follow this path." If the others are ok the plan, the monk makes his way to the rooftops.

Once he hits the roof, Mohktar scans the area for other enemies who might harass the palanquin.

Mohktar's face is grim, eyes seeing the poisoned javelin (?) sticking out of the ground. He sees Alwyn make a slight gesture to the alleyway, the monk considers the proposed route and sprints forward to take the lead. (Considering his study of the route, I'm thinking the combination of that and Alwyn's direction will show him the path.)

Mohktar cinches the straps on his haversack and eyes the closest buildings to pick his climbing approach. "Dear Hirati, if I might prevail upon your graces and ask that you accompany me. In such a way I can maintain contact with the group, yes?"

The monk takes a few bounding steps and leaps to the firmest handhold leading upwards then swinging and jumping his way to the roof.

Reaching the roof, Mohktar takes a moment to get his bearings and then starts to run and bound along the rooftops, making his way to the downed cart.

Mohktar nods agreement, his duty is to Bahni and seeing her safely through the city. But to know he could do something good for these catatonic revellers gnaws at him.

"Shiko-san, Pratavh, Lilly, get the palanquin moving. Quick as you can." He looks to one of the water bearers along the road and withdraws a few silver pieces, handing them to him and pointing to a bucket of water for purchase.
