Chuck walks up to the man to loosen the bonds and get's face to face with him.

"I promise you'll regret seeing my face again." He says, cutting the bonds.

Chuck steps to the side and walks over to the Professor's side to examine her.

He waits for the soldier to leave.

I'm just here to be Chuck and have him react to the things he knows. Table talking out every situation seems like it could bog down the flow of the game. I like that everyone will interpret and perceive situations differently. It lends to be IN character instead of just thinking of the optimal solution. It's a fun dynamic to react to what other people do and think on what my character would know and not know. It's on of my favorite RP aspects: learning how other players react/handle things and using it as cues for my own actions.

I appreciate the urgency to save the Professor but just can't like in-character and OOC knowledge enough to justify it at the moment.

Looking forward to learning how we all operate together! :)

"Crap! Must've been an EMP or somethin', my laser pistol is out. Z, I'm going for those swords by the stairs. I'll grab you one." Chuck shouts as he holsters his pistol and starts to sprint down the hallway to the stairs.

"Oh! Wow! Yea, that's great Detective. What a relief." Chuck answer abruptly.
"Welp, who is this Jak fella' and does he have a record or anything? What's the motive? What gave it a away? Y'all get him to run his mouth or somethin'?" He gives a dubious look to the others, as if to say this seems too convenient, right?.

Also, Am I supposed to have more sub-skills? I only saw Melee (blade) explicitly list it. (Edit. Read more in the CRB, I'll get subskills setup soon)

Now that Chuck has a golfing buddy (Ben), his Athletics goes up. And obviously there is a hole by hole wager every time we golf because they're both Gamblers.
Athletics > 1

Through golfing, Chuck is introduced to Erryll who gets him wrapped up into a Duel as a second. While Erryll taught him to duel, Chuck expanded on his Gun Combat as he taught Erryll a thing or two about pulling a trigger.
Gun Combat > 2

Is that how this works? Then that would be my two Connections, correct? at least the ones that affect skills and such.

How do these sub skill things work?

Chuck jumps up from his seat, fist pumping into the air.
"Yaw!" he shouts.

His mother comes running. "Charles dear, is something the matter?"
"Nah ma, just YOUR SON'S GOING TO BE A FRIGGIN NAVY PILOT!"

Ancient Terran Navy Sailors were known for their drinking habits, and unfortunately things have not changed much in the centuries since.

Chuck partied hard but studied harder and managed to graduate top of his class. His aerial prowess created a slogan around campus. "Mess with Chuck and he'll put your ship in the Mudd."

Neat! I'll finalize my sheet after clarifying the questions above.
I also tried to ponder any ties within the first term here but couldn't come up with any. Maybe partying, maybe my talent is scouted by another? I'm assuming future terms will link Chuck to the rest of the crew.

Oooooooohh, another Traveller new player. Yay!
If I was the only one, I considered pitching the idea of "my PC has amnesia from some botched high tech cryo freezing or something" but now we can just be two green around the gills recruits that don't know nothin'.

Either way, totally fine with someone else being the Captain. I'm pretty regular on the posting too (luxury of a software job).

My wife is my sounding board for most of my PC gen and she told me I should be a boat mechanic (fwiw, no context given to her) so I suppose that's my angle. However, I will not be taking her name recommendation this time... "Reginald The Mighty" doesn't seem appropriate for the setting.

I enjoyed the gunslinger but did get a bit repetitive, but that might be because we're all gunslingers. I could see how each would fit into certain parties especially well.

The small orange haired gnome rushes down to the newly exposed doorway, ignoring the bedraggled man.

She begins to thoroughly inspect the doorway and newly exposed hallway, but then freezes. Her head slowly turns to look at Lukas with a big grin.

She says sheepishly, slinking backward from the awkward situation.

Lilika stares on with mild amusement but remains quiet.

I am using source control to track changes in my Profile for a couple of PbP characters I have. This is publicly available so I wanted to share out to a larger audience. Ahhhh... This was part of a convention? Did not realize that. :/
I did jump into this on recommendation of another internet stranger GraySquid at the last minute.

I will definitely continue to play PbP since it's the easiest way for me to scratch my RPG itch while still maintaining a good work/family/gaming balance.

Now to go read up on how to use the boons again.... it's been a while since I used them

Ornaculus makes grand gestures, miming out the story.
"A pleasure to meet you! I have come from humble beginnings. You see, I was Absalom's greatest street magician, but never touched any real magic. One day, I was performing at my nephews birthday when the unicycle caught in a crevice and I went for a tumble. When I regained consciousness, I spoke five more languages! I also suddenly had a thirst for knowing more and found I could consume a tome in merely an hour."

"One thing led to another and now I am here with all these fabulous people!"
He looks around with amazement, gesturing to his companions.

"I have read so much about far off places, that now I must go see them for myself!" He punctuates his need for adventure with a pointer finger jabbed into the air.

Ornaculus settles and adjusts his hat that went askew during his diatribe.

I walk about with my staff, grandiosely gesturing to nobody and nothing in particular. I'm wearing ornate but cheap blue clothing with a pattern of yellow stars, a matching cape trailing behind and a matching cone shaped hat atop my head.
"I'm sure you're all so glad to have me. I'm quite glad myself to be able to elevate the status of the Pathfinder Society to a new level! We're going to add some pizzazz to this Lodge and put on quite the show."
I cast Dancing Lights and have them swirl around my hand to punctuate the last statement. Dismissing them with a flourish.
"My magicks aim to enhance. I can make even the stoutest Dwarf swift as an Elf! The most mundane blade will become interwoven with POWER! What about you good Dwarf?"
I gesture at Dorian "The Hammer" Gravendak.
"Would you like to fly on winged feet?"

Ornaculus(link) is a Transmuter Wizard that will primarily focus on buffing others in his party. As you may have noticed, he's a bit pompous but eager to start adventuring.

Other than the encounters being a bit overpowered (unless you level them up ahead of time) I can’t see it being a problem. Especially since Shimmerglens isn’t super important to overall storyline and could be optional anyway iirc. Love some GM magic to get creative. Also, this would force them to recover Lamatar and return with part of him. Could be a good way to “motivate” the PCs to hurry their plans.
