Was just reading through the Advanced Player's Guide and found the second paragraph in the 'Caster Level (CL)' section on page 282: APG wrote: The creator’s caster level must be as high as the item’s caster level (and additional requirements may effectively put a higher minimum on the creator’s level). This replaces the following text from the same section in the Core Rulebook (3rd printing) on page 460: Core Rules wrote: For potions, scrolls, and wands, the creator can set the caster level of an item at any number high enough to cast the stored spell but not higher than her own caster level. For other magic items, the caster level is determined by the item itself. So does the APG supercede the Core Rulebook stating that CL is not a requirement? Mike

The inside covers are there. Look at pg 2 of the Cover or Front Cover and Rear Cover pdfs. Regarding the file-naming, I think that was already addressed earlier in this thread. Mike

Have to say, I didn't really have a problem with the original map of Westcrown. However, judging by the PDF, the new poster map version of Westcrown looks amazing! Thanks! Mike

The stat block for Ezren in Crypt of the Everflame supports your second option, which is the way I read it, too. However, even though it's not stated explicitly, I would still apply non-proficiency penalties. Mike

Saw this on Sunday with the family (wife and 2 girls ages 6 & 9). Everyone enjoyed it, but I don’t think any of us would pick it as our favorite Miyazaki film. We’ll be adding it to the collection when it is released on DVD, and it’s definitely worth seeing in the theater. One thing I did realize while watching it was how nice it was to see a hand-animated movie on the big screen again. Mike

Reckless, We both had a great time running through the delve with the two of you as well. Jenny's Merisiel dished out quite a bit of damage with thrown dagger crits, too. And in my defense, I think Kyra's -1 Init was rubbing off on me. :) Mike

It seems kind of overkill to me, as if we had any resistance left. Or is this the next generation of gamers? Discuss. Wait a minute, Katie's no marketing strategy, she's my kid! And yes, that is her own copy of the rules. :)

Gary, Just to let you know, the one file per chapter .zip that I downloaded this morning does not contain the Ch13 file at all (not even the incorrectly named one). Just wanted to pass this along. Thanks! Mike

I have to vote for Ticket to Ride in all its flavors, but primarily the USA version with the 1910 expansion. It is currently the game of choice for family game night in our household (me, the wife, and two girls ages 9 & 6). It is also spreading throughout the extended family. My parents, brother's family, and my brother-in-law's family have all purchased copies of the game after we introduced it to them. The simplicity of the game play (play trains, draw trains, or draw tickets) makes the game very accessible, and the strategy element can be as casual or as cut-throat as you like.

Cool, I guess that makes me one of five! :-) Also, a friend of mine started a sub last month after I told him about Planet Stories, so word of mouth is working a litte. Mike

Hey all, It looks like the one-file-per-chapter version of the PFRPG download in my download page isn't complete. The ZIP file only contains the back cover PDF (size 2.3 MB). However, the single file version seems OK. Don't know if this is affecting everyone or just me, but I thought I'd mention it. Thanks! Mike

First off, a big "Thank you" to Eric and all the folks at Paizo for being so open with the community during this whole '4E' saga. Now, on to the questions: 1) Do you plan to convert to the new edition of D&D? No, although I plan on looking through the PHBv4 and DMGv4 at my FLGS. If I see anything I like that I want to convert to v3.5, I may pick them up. -- 2) If Paizo converts its RPG products to 4.0, how will that affect your purchasing patterns for our products? Pathfinder - If this goes 4E, I will continue my subscription through the first issue of the new edition. I will then make a decision on whether to continue the subscription after seeing that first 4E issue. Gamemastery Modules - I currently don't have a subscription, but I have purchased all of the modules so far from my FLGS (trying to share the weath). My decision process for these will be the same as for Pathfinder. Pathfinder Chronicles - These items will be decided on a case-by-case basis depending on the amount of 4E specific crunch (i.e., the more 4E specific crunch there is, the less likely I will purchase the item). I would probably cancel my Chronicles subscription in this case (but that does not mean I would never buy another Chronicles product). -- 3) If Paizo does not convert its RPG products to 4.0, how will that affect your purchasing patterns for our products? Pathfinder/Pathfinder Chronicles - I would continue my subscriptions. Gamemastery Modules - I would continue purchasing these through my FLGS. -- As for the non-RPG product lines: Planet Stories - I'll be keeping this subscription forever. :) Titanic Games - I plan on getting Key Largo and still need to get the Stonehenge expansion. I've been spending most of my gaming $$ on boardgames over the last 6 or so months, so if you keep this line going, I'll be happy to support it (although I would probably order the games through my FLGS, trying to share the weath again). Hope this helps with your decision making process. Mike

Olaf, You might want to check any nearby big name brick and mortar book stores (Borders, Joseph Beth, Barnes & Noble, etc) to see if they still have a copy on the shelf. I managed to pick this up at a local Borders earlier last month. Good luck! Mike |
