Renegade stands quietly to let the others do some scheming, trying to get an idea for their plan making capacity.

The adipose blob clearly has nothing to work with in mental faculties beyond finding his next meal or entertainment. This Tracy seems at least open to suggestion, and Carl at least has some creative thought processes going on. The camera is a good idea. Imagine seems to think that feminine wiles can overcome anything, a surprising lack of imagination given her alias.

Realizing that his thoughts are not necessarily safe, he attempts to steel his mind before adding, "I think Carl here has it. This is a SOCORP escort, keep in mind. If we make a move on it once the Slashers are in control, we risk pissing off an organization that is aware of our whereabouts. But SOCORP is significantly more dangerous. I think having Imagine "will" someone to drive a car in front of the escort to force them to stop, as he said, then Carl pops in, snaps some pictures of the contents, then pops out, then we should be able to accomplish the mission with minimal risk to those involved."

He looks around and adds, "If there is a computer here in this...lair...then I could even provide some additional data on the mission."

Renegade agrees to go along with the charade for now.

I've been ridiculed once before, I can handle one more time.

Regarding the Milk Run.

Once they return to the safety of their "secret" lair, Renegade reads over the Milk Run mission one more time. "Hey, it seems that we don't actually have to ACQUIRE the shipment. Just learn of it's contents. Perhaps Mr. Intangible here could lurk along the transport route while Lady-Invisible lurks nearby, and when the truck is passing over, he comes up into the truck from beneath, finds out what's inside, then disappears back into the road beneath the truck. No muss, no fuss?"

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

Renegade casts a stern glance at the woman continuing to tip toe inside his mind. "I would suggest sending at least SOME muscle to the negotiation. These types, as has already been pointed out, respect shows of strength. Plus, if things turn hostile, some brute force may be required."

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

Hearing the unfamiliar voice in the communicator, Renegade says to those in the lair, "Who in the Hell is that? Did one of you lose a Comm-Link?"

Noting the absence of Rigor, he adds, "Is that Rigor? Is she a shapeshifter?"

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

I don't think there is going to be any way to hide the fact that we are meta-humans when we undertake missions, so I think that much is a wash. However, after we settle this little debacle, I do think it needs to be made clear to all that care needs to be taken in returning to our hideout.

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

"Or, once they get tired of losing men, they send an anonymous message to the V'sori and have THEM deal with us. And I never said we go crawling to them. I said we make peace with them. We scratch their backs, they scratch ours, kind of deal."

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

Renegade maintains a constant vigil on the security footage, and grows more and more anxious as time passes. Eventually, he steps away and calls out, "Alright, we have a problem and we need to deal with it before it gets out of hand."

Once everyone is gathered, he continues, "Whatever you guys did, you thoroughly pissed off the Slashers. Seeing as I have no interest in getting killed or handed over to the alien bastards over something done before I arrived, and I doubt you guys want to deal with the same, I suggest we find a way to make peace with the gang so that we aren't constantly worrying about a SECOND threat, or we relocate the lair. Seeing as the latter is not going to be easily conducted under the constant watch we find ourselves in, I suggest we find a way to make peace with them, and get them off our asses."

To emphasize his point, Renegade holds out his palm and projects an image of the building they reside in as well as the locations of the various identified gang members around their location.

"If we are constantly having to defend this spot from the gang, not only do we face the risk that they JUST MIGHT eventually overwhelm us, but we also have to accept the fact that it may bring down the attention of the V'sori, Fins, and Drones. At which point, I think we are sufficiently, as the phrase goes, boned. Also, if we keep antagonizing the Slashers, it will make any attempts at making amends that much more difficult. So if we are going to make nicey-nice with the gang, we need to do it sooner than later."

Aside from my computer woes, I've been patiently waiting something to really interact with in game, I just don't wanna hog the thread...

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

For the record, I'm fine with the group having to "learn a lesson." We may even have to relocate lairs. But Renegade did in fact take measures to lose trackers, so...yeah...up to you guys.

My computer has finally died. I am limited to ipad use until I can get it fixed. My posting may be a bit slower than usual.

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

As the group separated, Renegade accessed his file with the basic information he had on the location of his new Cell, and headed in a round-a-bout path to the lair. Upon arriving, he at first was disgusted with the appearance of the place, but once he noticed the high-end security access, he smirked behind his helmet.

Well, at least they have the place on lock down. Perhaps the way it looks is just camouflage from the V'sori. I mean, if it ACTUALLY looked of value, I'm sure they'd have already raided it by now...

He moves to a hidden location to avoid any curious glances he might receive standing around in his battle armor, then flips up the access panel on his arm for his CommLink, and begins attempting to find a way to grant himself access to the building as he waits for his new found allies to arrive.

Knowledge (Electronics): 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Wild: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Aced Knowledge Die: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Result: 14

Given my flying Pace, I assume I make it back here first. Hence the assumption that I'm likely standing around here nearby waiting to try to get in.

Assuming he eventually gets access, via by hacking the system or one of the originals granting him entry...

Renegade then finds himself an unclaimed office to settle in to, and then moves to the group's "common area." He was, indeed, disappointed with the interior of the place as much as he was the exterior, though the Med-Tank was indeed a very interesting acquisition. He looked it over thoroughly, certain he could improve on Alpha Squadron's original design.

As the tub of lard commented on the missions on the VMAP, Renegade sighs and moves over to him, pulling them up on his holgraphic projector. "Indeed, in normal situations we should likely target the more serious missions first, but you see how this one is labeled 'Time Sensitive?' That means there is a very narrow window of opportunity to act on this mission. As such, we should probably hit it first. The serial killer is likely not going anywhere, and if another cell manages to take him out in the mean time, all the better. Although, I do have to say the idea of finding a spy satellite of Alpha Squadron's sounds very interesting to me."

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

My assumption is that, in these missions, we have the coordination of other cell activity as well as Dr. Destruction himself taking efforts to smoke screen our actions. Also, especially the one with the escort, I assume part of the goal would be to leave no credible witnesses.

Taking actions that the boss man does not approve of, though, opens the door for him to not provide us background security, or if we tick him off bad enough, he may even take actions against us personally.

Granted, I'm sure that confrontations with the V'sori are inevitable. But, they are likely out of our league atm.

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

Nope, all the message you provided works well enough for me to do something with.

Moving the data from the VMAP post earlier to here for quicker reference (Original Post on Page 7 of the Gameplay thread):

Milk Run. Time sensitive task. Priority low:

Message form Dr Destruction begins: “The V’sori have been sending, something, to the Southpoint Slashers. On an irregular schedule an armored transport leaves Beachhead and drives across town to Southpoint. I want to know what is in that transport. Whatever it is it is important enough to have a SOCOP escort until it reaches Slasher territory in Southpoint. The transport is making another run tomorrow The map displays the transports projected route at 0227. Find out what is in that transport, I do not care how. Steal it , find a manifest, or blow the thing up and sift the rubble.” message ends.

Star City Stalker. Priority moderate:

Message from Dr. Destruction begins: ”We have a serial killer operating in Star City. Normally I would not interfere with a harmless hobby but three of the killer’s recent victims were useful to me. Find whoever is doing this and stop them or at least point them at better targets."

Big Fish down. Priority low:

Map shifts to display pre-invasion Richmond VA. The display focuses and highlights the Sun trust bank building at South 9th st and Highway 60.
Message from Dr. Destruction begins: ”The V’sori invasion began with a wave of terror attacks made by deorbiting our own satellites into our cities. An excellent plan as it not only spread terror it also crippled earth communications system. However the V’sori were rather indiscriminate in what they sent down."
Display changes to a picture of a large satellite. "This was Big Fish an apparently defunct communications satellite but in fact a very active spy satellite used by Alpha Squadron. Big Fish had a plutonium core for long-term power and judging from the lack of fallout in the area it appears to have landed intact. You will find Big Fish and bring what has survived to me."
"Transport has been arranged with the trawler Lady William. {Mooring address in the Docks given here.} Contact the captain, Mr. Jack Everett, he will be expecting you."

As Renegade works his magic on the networks, his suit detects and informs him of the various potential threats assembling around the group.

Telepathic Message to Imagine: For the record, in case you weren't aware, we are being followed and our movements are being tracked very closely. On foot, scooters, and bikes. I don't have any doubt that they can be taken out easily enough, but it is going to draw a lot of attention, even more than we have so far given our brazen parade through Southpoint. Also, I've managed to locate a security camera functioning about two blocks away from the main building. There are several vehicles parked there, including a heavily altered bus with "Axe!" painted on the side in graffiti. The other vehicles appear to be of decent size as well. In case it isn't perfectly clear...this looks to be a bad idea. However, I am reading on the VMAP that our benefactor has several missions he DOES want his cells to undertake that are available, one of which is indeed in this area. Perhaps we should reconnoiter back at your base of operations and research one of these options?

Notice: 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Notice Wild: 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Am I correct in assuming that as long as Imagine maintains the telepathic link up, I can initiate a message to her? Also, do I happen to spot any of these Slashers that are following us carrying any obvious tech or things that should be beyond their means?

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

Regarding the attempt to generate a 3D "map" of the area, I seem to recall reading somewhere that you don't intend to use maps for combat, so I am not really expecting a map to be presented or even described in a ton of detail. Just Renegade really trying to find out how many potential threats are in the area and trying to maintain an idea of where they are and how they are responding to their presence.

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

Once they are somewhere secure, Renegade holds up his hand at the others and says, "Hang on, let me see what I sort of recon I can do from here."

Knowledge (Electronics): 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Wild: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Things Renegade is trying to find out (if this requires a separate roll for each check, let me know.

1) Find a blueprint for the Slasher hideout.
2) Hack into local traffic/security cameras to locate threats, then display those on a 3D map using his Holographic Projector for others to see right now, but maintain one on the HUD of his visor.
3) Access utility grid to hack into communications coming into and out of the building.
4) Access utility grid to find out if he can cut the power supply to the building/block.

Just in case you want separate rolls, I will now roll for options 2, 3, and 4.

2) Knowledge (Electronics): 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Wild: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Best Result: 9

3) Knowledge (Electronics): 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Wild: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Best Result: 10

4) Knowledge (Electronics): 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Wild: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Best Result: 6

In response to your wall-o-text, which I did read...

This is kinda the thing Renegade was trying to point out, though his primary concern is not the V'sori, but rather Dr. D's unpredictable reaction as well.

However, I do not want to crush anyone from actually pursuing their own goals, as a game on rails makes players feel like they have no control over their own actions.

Sooooo...being the new guy, I have no real way to add input on this in-character really beyond what I already have, I think.

Ok...making a post in-game with the Comm-Link, since it can access the web and networks...

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

GM: Any response to my question in thread?

Repeated here for simplicity: Do I happen to see anything around here that might have a link up to the internet? Or, are we able to access the networks through our Comm-Links?

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

Renegade clenches his teeth as he can hear Imagine continue talking in his head.

Telepathic Response: Fine, but be warned that should I sense you meddling about in my head beyond just conversation, you will have to answer for it!

At the request of the telepath, Renegade lands and falls in with the rest of the group walking towards the Slasher hide out.

Telepathic Message to Imagine: For the record, my personal experience with Dr. Destruction does not bode well for anything going on beyond his grand schemes, whatever they may be. If this cell does anything that draws too much heat on itself or Omega, he is liable to respond even more viciously than the V'sori's Fin lapdogs. Just so you are well aware of what you may be setting yourself up for...

GM: Do I happen to see anything around here that might have a link up to the internet? Or, are we able to access the networks through our Comm-Links?

Renegade's head turns about, trying to pinpoint the location of the voice. Realizing they must be hidden, he brings a hand to his helm and switches on his sensory array, trying to pin point the target.

I don't think by the rules the Awareness power can detect invisible targets, but hey, he'd at least try it. He doesn't even know for a fact that you are invisible, just hidden in some way and tinkering in his head.

Telepathic Response: I don't like people inside my head. See your way out of it unless it is of life-or-death importance.

He lands and asks, "So...Dr. Destruction wants the Slashers brought under Omega control? Or..." he pauses as he thinks on the last thing the voice in his head said, "Is this a personal venture?"

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

What starts as a dull roar quickly amplifies as what appears to be a black robot soars into view and floats above the ground about 10 feet from the group. It looks you over quickly before saying, "The name is Renegade. Someone has requested that I come along and make sure you guys don't get yourselves killed in a spectacular fashion," he holds his hand out and a three dimensional image of Dr. Destruction appears above his palm briefly, before he closes his hand and lands in front of the group.

"Who is in charge here?"

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

Won't change my movement method since I had already said I'd fly, and hey, what's an up-and-coming villain without a few potential rookie mistakes, eh?

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

A) However the rest of the group wishes to travel.
B and B1) Renegade will fly. He will maintain the pace of the group and remain just below rooftop level to avoid detection.
C) Will indeed ATTEMPT to be somewhat sneaky, though likely not doing so well. He will also have his Awareness power activated, using his Sensory Array to detect anything that might be lurking about somewhat obscured/hidden.

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

So, I think the consensus on Renegade's introduction is:

However you feel like doing so, GM!

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

I had figured on a reinforcement from Dr. Destruction as well. But if they had a piece of tech that he desired, he wouldn't be against working with them, though then we would likely need a scene of Dr. D formally (and forcefully) inducting him into Omega.

Not that Renegade would put up a huge fight on the matter. More of a "But, I don't, aw s$##. Fine."

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

Heh, I wanted to start with a Vibro-sword, to let my melee attacks be heavy weapons. But, I suppose I'll just have to scavenge one, as I felt some back-up Heavy Armor and wound soaking capability was more important, so I bought a Z-belt.

Hopefully, it won't be too hard to find.

Parry: 4 (6), Toughness: 5 (11), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Status: Armored

Hello one and all!

Glad to be here.

Just to give you guys an idea: Michael Weiss looks and sounds almost identical to Quentin Tarantino.

In his armor though, he looks like an evil Iron Man, and has a much deeper, robotic sounding voice.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hi and see how you guys wanted to have me join in.
