Merisiel purses her lips as she looks over Amiri and the giant arrow she was holding.

"You know," she says with a chuckle, "I bet that would've helped out. Erastil's holy weapon, something descerating Erastil's temple? I bet Old Deadeye would've done us a solid." She shrugs and then continues, "It's over now, anyway. Time to report in, I guess. They'll be wanting their spear back at home base, probably."

Merisiel pants at the end of the battle, taking a moment to recover. In the past minute or two, she had run laps nearly, while also jumping and striking. Her muscles ached, but she maintained a wary eye on the daemon's body. I've seen these things come back to life one too many times. Better make sure it's really dead.

"Hey, Muscles" she said after a moment, "and Fists, good work. Thanks for, you know, not letting me die. You too, Eyebrows. You and your chicken dinner helped out. You really did. I'm happy to have been forged in battle with you."

Merisiel chargers forward, putting all the momentum into her blade, hoping that Padrig distracted the creature enough for hear to stab under-handed. "Keep going; I've chipping it down!"

Merisiel furrows her brow, looking over the fight.

"I've got an idea," she says as she begins to move backward into the hallway, ducking to avoid the daemon's attack. "If we lure it into the hallways, it'll have to stop flying. It's simply too big." She directs her words to the daemon, adopting a childish taunt, "Aren't you, you little bugger. You should've laid off the all-you-can-eat soul buffet a little."

With a glance at Amiri, Merisiel mutters under her breath, "Dear gods, whoever'll watch us, please let Amiri see past her anger."

"Hey!" Merisiel shouts at it, waving her sword. "No fair! Against the rules!"

The creature now far out of her reach, she pulls out a small sack seeming to ooze with chemicals. She twists her arm back, throws forward and the sack flies gently through the air toward the daemon.

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 7 - 6 ⇒ (13) + 7 - 6 = 14

Calculated in being 3 range incremements away.

A tanglefoot bag is a small sack filled with tar, resin, and other sticky substances. When you throw a tanglefoot bag at a creature (as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet), the bag comes apart and goo bursts out, entangling the target and then becoming tough and resilient upon exposure to air. An entangled creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity and must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be glued to the floor, unable to move. Even on a successful save, it can move only at half speed. Huge or larger creatures are unaffected by a tanglefoot bag. A flying creature is not stuck to the floor, but it must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be unable to fly (assuming it uses its wings to fly) and fall to the ground. A tanglefoot bag does not function underwater.

A creature that is glued to the floor (or unable to fly) can break free by making a DC 17 Strength check or by dealing 15 points of damage to the goo with a slashing weapon. A creature trying to scrape goo off itself, or another creature assisting, does not need to make an attack roll; hitting the goo is automatic, after which the creature that hit makes a damage roll to see how much of the goo was scraped off. Once free, the creature can move (including flying) at half speed. If the entangled creature attempts to cast a spell, it must make a concentration check with a DC of 15 + the spell's level or be unable to cast the spell. The goo becomes brittle and fragile after 2d4 rounds, cracking apart and losing its effectiveness. An application of universal solvent to a stuck creature dissolves the alchemical goo immediately. Crafting this item is a DC 25 Craft (alchemy) check.

Merisiel yelps slightly as the creature materializes behind her. "Yeah, guess this'll do, teddy," she quips as she dodges the creature's claws, almost dancing past its arms.

As she bounds toward it, she draws her rapier. It hisses slightly as the metal scrapes against its scabbard. She ends her tumble with a bounce, propelling her thrust forward into the beast's shaggy fur and glowering eyes.

"Muscles, I'll need you over here," Merisiel calls out, seeing the magic disappate from her blade. Dear gods, this is going to hurt.

Raising the DC of the acrobatics check by 10 to move full speed.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (13) + 17 = 30
Attack with Rapier: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

I'm working my way over, haha.

Sorry it's been taking me some time to post. I agreed to GM this month more than I should have (seriously, it's been a lot - I've gotten over 15 table credits in the past three weeks), and it's been really draining me. I'm trying to keep up as I'm really loving this game and hope to do more PFS play-by-post after this experience.

Merisiel, unable to see but hearing the devastation this creature is causing, draws a small vial from a belt pouch and quickly uncorks it. Drinking deeply, her movements suddenly begin to blur, her outline wavers.

"I can kill this thing," she shouts, "just, you know, get it in my reach."

Draw and drink my potion of blur. Five foot step over.
I am also around a corner and unable to see that I could reach the creature.

I am switching to daggers, sorry. Thought the thing was good for all rounds, not just one attack. The attack would've then been a 19. New damage is:

Dagger damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Merisiel scowls at the ram bleating in her face as she tries to slide past it, then waits for Sajan to come forward and attack.

"Sajan, distract it!" Merisiel cries out, then grimances. Let's hope that this thing hasn't learned how to speak Taldane yet.

Merisiel springs back toward the rams, ignoring the flying creature for now. She readies to strike out with her rapier if one of the rams comes within her reach.

"When those rams come near," she says with ragged, panicked breath as she realizes there would be no way for her to reach the large beast, "flank them and I'll take them out."

"Very well, Balazar," Merisiel says as she moves to the door, quickly checking it as well to see if it was trapped. "It seems safe enough."

"I would not be surprised if the same things that controlled the creatures that killed Enoras and Larya were responsible for this," Merisiel says.

She strides forward to touch the seeping water on the wall, looking closer to see if it gave up any secrets.

The dead bodies in the pool cause Merisiel's face to fall, and she mumbles to herself, May Erastil judge your sacrifice meaningful" before she begins to drag their bodies from the water to lay into some semblance of peaceful rest.

Then Merisiel nods at the holy symbol. "It is always worth a shot; keys come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes. Balazar, I will only need one coating, or else I will need," she pauses for a moment as she takes stock of her daggers, "at least 6, possibly more. It would likely be best to cover my rapier and leave the daggers alone."

She draws her rapier and dips it into the pool.

Merisiel nonds and joins the group gathering at the door. It seems reasonable, after, examining that. Stone on stone could be many things, and nothing good. Best to leave that until nothing else could come around a corner.

"Ah, Sajan, but what if I find a small vegetable garden and am overcome with excitement? In that case, I guess that you'll want to see it anyway, so it's likely a moot point," Merisiel says with a laugh.

She looks down at the creatures and examines it, attempting to find any possible note or marker from its master, maybe even an indication of the true Enoras and Larya's fate. These humans have such short lives. If only I could give part of my life to lengthen theirs. If only Kyra was here; she would know what to do.

Face still, Merisel straightens to her full height and says, "Yes, let us go through the front doors. Let me examine it for traps first, though."

Taking a lantern, she strides forward toward the door, moving her feet slower and quieter as she passes through the arch. She quickly runs her fingers over the door, looking for any sigils or switches likely to trigger a trap, then leans down with her ear to it. Placing the lantern at her feet, she gestures to the group, indicating they should come forward.

Merisiel looks at the foul beast in anger and calls out to her allies, "Let's take these creatures down. Perhaps the priests still live."

She moves forward over the broken column yet again, her rapier pointing at the featureless creature. However, the column shifts under her weight, and the rapier barely nicks the creature before her.

Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 73d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 2) = 11

If the attack does hit, she applies both her slow reactions ability and her debilitating injury to make it belwidered for one round.

The abilities are:

Bewildered: The target becomes bewildered, taking a –2 penalty to AC. The target takes an additional –2 penalty to AC against all attacks made by Merisiel.

Slow Reactions: Opponents damaged by Merisiel’s sneak attack can’t make attacks of opportunity for 1 round.

Meriseil glares at the woman and says, "Who are you? What have you done with Larya?" She steps next to her and draws her rapier. The steel glints sharply in the rapidly darkening courtyard as Merisel thrusts foward, hoping to catch the woman impersonating Larya off guard.

Merisiel furrows her brow at the strange markings, but turns away from them without being able to decipher their meaning. She looks over to Enoras and Larya with suspicion, taking in the whole of them rather than the part. Something does not seem right about this at all. She gives a curt nod to Sajan and motions to the figure with a jutting thumb.

Also, your map looks beautiful. I think I'm going to adapt that style of map for my Second Darkness game.

Merisiel steps over to examine the broken column, a thoughtful look clouding her face as she pokes through the rubble for anything notable. Why can't vandals ever accidentially drop their coin purses? Would be good for them to do that on occassion, but noooo.

"Well, these do seem to be former columns. But staring at them won't get things moving, will it?" Merisiel kicks a bit of loose rubble before glancing over the room for any other signs of the vandals.

Merisiel comes slinking back from the temple, breaking into a stride once safely out of the building.

"I think we're overreacting, guys," she says with a smirk. "The only person in their is that priest with the abs. Enoras, if the name comes back to me. There seems to have been some sort of damange done to the building, though. Perhaps there was a scuffle earlier? In any case, Muscles can lead that way if she wants."

Merisiel moves towards the shadows of the building, hoping to gain some sort of cover in order to sneak through the door and peer into the room beyond.

The elf rolls her eyes almost audibly, a clever trick for an elf with no whites of her eyes. "Look, muscles, don't damage the goods. We don't deliver the arrow-thing, we don't get paid. Besides, who knows if you can even break it."

Merisiel looks her companions over before saying, "But I do think that she'll be the best weild it. Muscles is a good name as any for you."

A tall, black-eyed elf stares out over the small group gathering as she mentally assesses her preparations. Her hands fly over the pouches and bandoliers she keeps her supplies in, light touches to count each item carefully packed for quick retrieval. 12 knives, 1 rapier, a couple potions... should be enough. What have I gotten myself into this time? Pay's better be good to bring me to this godsforsaken backwater. Her face pales slightly and she lets out a groan.

"Ah, sting me," she says as she rechecks her bags. "I forgot my lockpicks.
