Some new source books came out, family the new tool box. Before this it was hard to do a good twf Investigator without going Super Dex. Now we have the Artful Dodger feat and I would like to discuss an Str based twf Investigator.

Could going str help in the early levels of an investigator? He has alot more options when it comes to buffing for an Str build.

So I am making a PFS elven investigator. Who is not proficient with is not normally proficient with martial weapons. Weapon Familiarity (forgive spelling) states that elfs treat all elven weapons as martial weapons. So then heirloom weapons was made only allow me to use one weapon (Martial or Simple). Would this allow my investigator to use an elven weapon through heirloom weapon?

So I was playing a few different classes for my first Parhfinder society character. I was going to do an EK but since early acces got faqed I been a bit lost. I instead tried out a dervish of dawn bard and while it was fairly decent in combat I felt he was lacking. So I think I want alittle less combat and some more skills. I found the investigator and think he can be a cool addition to any group given some work.

So I am using the archetype Empiricst to combine with Student of Philosophy and just dump cha.

Stats
14 str
17 dex
10 con
18 int
10 wis
7 cha

So u was thinking I have some dex and str so I can pick up a bow and Maybe a eleven curved blade. I can use potions and mutagens to buff stats as needed.

So maybe
weapon Finese
Power attack

Help me think of a good path to go ...shield of swings? Combat expertise? Spring attack?

Help me improve my Build and make it Society Legal!

Basically the idea is a switch hitter type build, where i can make Combat Expertise Useful! Twf with Shield and Fist in melee and throwing the shield while at ranged. Basic idea is get all the Preqs for combat styles (Melee/Range/Defensive) and when i need to preform a task i have Martial Flexibility!

Brawler Shield Champion
1 Improved Shield Bash / (H) Shield Proficient (Defense) (Stupid Design Flaw)
2 (B) Exotic Weapon Prof Madu
3 Combat Expertise
5 Dodge / (B) Shield Focus
7 Extra Martial Flexibility
8 (B) Improved Critical
9 Two Weapon Fighting
11 Bashing Finish / (B) Shield Slam

(B)= Brawler Bonus
(H)= Human

(Free Feats)
Far Shot
Improved Unarmed Strike
Greater Shield Focus
Shield Mastery

Martial Flexibility
Power Attack/Pummeling Style/Pummeling Charge (Melee Charge!)
Crane Style/Crane Wing/Crane Riposte (Turtle!)
Deadly Aim /Two Handed Thrower (Ranged no one in melee)
Point Blank/Precise Shot (Shooting into Melee)

Potential Traits
Shield-Trained= Shield Proficiency (Attacking) (Not sure i need it)
Threatening Defender= Comat Expertise reduced Penalty

What feat do i need to take to become Proficient with the Madu?

Does Shield Proficiency? Give it to me? Or do i have to Take Exotic Proficiency Madu? (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/armor/madu)

I am very new to Pathfinder Society. I have a bi-weekly game playing through First Lore ect.

I am looking for a group that can ethier go Biweekly or weekly so long as it dosnt interfere with my current bi-weekly game.

I am familiar with Skype, google sheets, and roll20

My first character is a level 1 Arcanist who i may switch to a swashbuckler, (according to the level 1 rules, allowing me to augment before level 2). Eventually i think i will turn him into an EK if i can manage to get the requirements.

I am excited to be taking a part in the Society :D

Background: Making an elven arcanist->inspired blade->Ek

I am using early entry via wizard school exploit diviner. I am a Dex build, using fencing grace, eventually piranha strike and arcane strike.

I hit a wall reguarding the best way to defend myself. Rearranging feats and gold to bring up saves and ac. I understand I am a spellcaster, but some defense is nice.

So I was looking at Combat Expertise which I know is normally a waste of space. My question is, combining it with the Madu shield and the threatening defender trait make it worth while?

Madu and trait lower To hit penalties by a total of 2 with comabt expertise, and the madu lowers the penalty for fighting defensively by 2.

So
-2 fighting defensively (reduced by madu)
+2 ac fighting defensively
+1 3 ranks acrobatics
+2 combat expertise no penalties
+1/-1 combat expertise after

So ur looking at -2/+5 then every 4 Bab above +4 (+8/+12/+16) a -1/+1 trade. And then we can add our shield bonus :)

Think it's worth it for 1-2 feat + trait expenditure?

I have a question with my Ek build, I plan on using a sword and shield. If I bond my weapon can I cast with it in my hand?

(PathFinder Society)
Race: Elven

STR: 10 DEX: 16 CON: 12 INT: 18 WIS: 10 CHA: 10

Blade Adept Arcanist->Inspired Blade Swashbuckler->EK
Feats

3 Arcane Strike
5 Extra Arcane Exploit
7 Fencing Grace
9 Extra Arcane Exploit
11 Extra Arcane Exploit

Inspiring Blade (free)
Weapon Focus
Weapon Finesse

Arcane Exploits (No Particular Order)
Potent Magic
Weapon Specilization
Arcane Weapon
Eldrith Blade
Dimensional Slide

Traits
Magical Knack
Warrior of Old

So I mixed a souls knife with a vitalist.

I am pretty much making a gifted blade using the vitalist as my full psionic side.
* high wis and dex based Sk
* focused offense

Can anyone explain to me how enhancing your blade works for two blades?

Ie at level 12 your max blade is level 3 lowered to 2 for two blades. Now I have 5 enhancement points and they must mirror so

+2 enhancement on both not leaving me enough to do anything with the +1

Mind blade 1 +2
Mind blade 2 +2

1 enhancement unused due to not enough points

Is this correct?

Am i correct in how i read this... I have a DD build i am using with Sorcerer Blood Lines.

So i figured whats a cool way to get even more natural attacks in? Monstrous Physique!

But now i read that i loose my SU and EX abilities when i poly morph ... so i lose all my Natural Armor and my Str bonus (abyssal blood line through feats).

Did i read this correctly? (Under Polymorph it says you lose all SU and EX abilities ... why would a sorcerer ever take these spells? Why are there even blood lines that encourage them to take these spells?

I can probably guess the answer to this but can you use Vital Strike on a Ranged Spellstrike?

I am making a Card Throwing Magus who can channel spells through the throwing cards.

Using myrmidarch and staff master ... in a hope of making the dmg from the playing cards (uses the stats of a Dart with a feat) viable i was hoping to use vital strike.

So Vital Strike (1d4+1d4) + Ranged Touch Spell (1d4,1d6,ect)

Do you think at level 6+

2d4(Vital Strike)+1d3(Acid Splash/Ray of Frost)+Str 2 + Arcane Strike 1-2

on 1 attack a round would be too much to ask a GM to wave?

Main goal i want you all to see if i messed up. Does he meet all requirements for feats? Is he viable?

Race Oakling
Age: 60
Deity: Gorum

Str 15 (17)
Dex 13 13
Con 13 13
Int 10 10
Wis 14 (16)
Cha 14 (12)

Toughness (This feat i am debating. Is there better?)
Power Attack
Shield of Swings
Extended Bane
Intimidating Prowess
Mighty Oak (Oakling Racial for Reach)
Judgment Surge (Is it worth getting this feat this late?)
Cornugon Smash
Furious Focus

Domain: Destruction (Rage)
Powers:
Smite: 1/2 lvl to Damage on Single Attack (3+ Wis mod)

He is a melee Damage Dealer ... starting off with Smite (Rage Sub-Domain) followed by power attack (lvl3). Adding in Bane and Rage later on.

By lvl 10 he can Rage (10?) times a day, Bane 10 times (Extended), Use cool Judgements, cast some decent spells and Power Attack. Using Shield of Swings for Ac when necessary. And he has a natural reach :D.

Bonus on Sense motive and intimidate. Wis to Initiative.

Everything after that just is butter ... Intimidating well every time he power attacks and Judgment Surging.

Elven Magus (Black Blade)
STR: 15 DEX: 15 CON: 12 INT: 18 WIS: 10 CHA: 10 (25 point buy)

1 Exotic Weapon: Bastard Sword
3 Arcane Strike
5 Power Attack/Shield of Swings Combat Feat
7 Combat Casting
9 Eschew Materials
11 Heighten Spell/Intensified Spell Bonus Meta Magic
13 Preferred Spell Shocking Grasp
15 Spell Perfection Shocking Grasp
17 Spell Pen/Extended Spell Bonus Meta Magic
19 Greater Spell Pen

I made him just today and could use some advice on the build. (Note dont worry about the bastard sword i talked to my GM to OK this.)

The first few lvls i focus on setting him up for some melee goodness.
with the Power Attack/Arcane Strike/ Shield of Swings i pretty much get a full power attack worth of damage and +4 AC to negate my lack of armor probably.

From there i focus on my spell casting working up this shocking grasp combo. I pick shocking grasp b/c it is a lvl 1 spell that benefits the most from Intensify. And with Spell Perfection and Preferred Spell on it i can sacrifice any spell for it and give it a free Intensify :D Throwing it out as part of my melee combo above.

What do you all think? Is such a build legal / decent? I am not sold on my Extended Spell bonus spell :/ idk what spells i would with it.
