![]() I hate to post this here, as I've already sent two emails to customer service, especially at a time when you folks are really busy. However, it's been two weeks and the most response I've gotten is "we'll get to you eventually". I really need some attention on this. A few days after placing order 3284119, I received a package but the order inside was intended for a customer in Kansas. The order # on the paperwork was order # 3287041. I would really like my PACG play mat instead, as it cost about 10x what the other customer paid for the module that arrived at my doorstep. ![]()
![]() I've noticed a trend of "winter editions". Other than the obvious (snow layers), are the products relatively the same? Or are there layers in the originals that don't appear in the winter editions? If I have the original, I don't want to buy another just to get snow, and if I don't have the original I'm afraid I'll be missing something I'd prefer over the snow. In short: is there anything to gain by buying the original edition over the winter edition? ![]()
![]() Forgive me if someone mentioned it already, but are there any plans to make it easier to spot if a product has been updated since the last time it was downloaded. I know buyers get an email, but sometimes things end up in a spam folder. Drivethrurpg has a nice method wherein if a product has been updated since it was last downloaded, it will turn red on your product archive. This would be an ideal solution for me, as it means whenever I'm looking at my downloads section, I could make a quick visual scan to see if I missed any updates. I know I can sort by date updated, but when you have a product list as long as I have, the idealness of the method weakens. You guys have several methods to help, so I'm not complaining in the slightest, so much as offering suggestions to help you help me. If it's an idea that's been brought up and dismissed, I'm not upset or anything, I just thought I'd ask. ![]()
![]() The setup: Campaign setting is kind of a "What would happen if the Celts had been integrated into the Anglo-Saxons instead of subsumed/eliminated, then progressed to the Middle Ages?" So think of it kind of as a mesh between the Tain, Mabinogi, and Le Morte d' Arthur. Literally. As in the militia still goes into battle wearing wode while being led by "civilized" knights in chain armor and during a timeframe that's a variation on the Arthur story. Without going into overly unnecessary detail, the artifact is a great axe whose name will translate into "Claw of the Dragon" and I'm trying to decide on which fits better: Brachium Draconis (from the Latin and fits the Arthurian aspects of the theme) Aisghlamagh Dragon (from the Irish translation, I've been pronouncing it "I-leh-maa". I'll happily be corrected if someone knows better) The latter has an older feel to it, but the former rolls off the tongue better. It's also easier to remember the spelling and doesn't have a word in it that is the same in english. But I was hoping for something with a little more Gaelic history to it. Perhaps Aisghlamagh Draconis, a blending of the two? Or something completely different and more "made-up" instead of real world translation? ![]()
![]() Ok, so I play a Cavalier/Wizard/Abjurant Champion. Two sessions ago we became lost in the desert without (surprise) my mount. Last session we were defeated in battle by a plot point, during which I not only cast almost every spell I had, but had my spellbook stolen by the plot point before he vanished and left us for dead. The GM laid a deus ex machina on me and I now have a "borrowed" spellbook with three spells of use to me, the rest of which are useless considering my concept (TWO abjuration spells!?!? Really!??!) The spellbook has plenty of blank pages and I have materials to scribe, but since I don't have any of my old spells prepared, the rules on replacing spellbooks pretty much says I'm screwed. So at 6th level I have one feat of use, one class ability of use, and a smattering of spells that are nerfed by the other half of my nerfed concept. Would some awesome peeps help me salvage this situation with nerdly rules lawyering of awesomeness? Is there any way to restore my spellbook without finding the old spellbook or finding our way back to civilization and making me spend ridiculous sums of... oh wait... he stole our gold too.... Note: I'm not looking for "you could take the Tattoo Spellbook Feat!" type of advice. Future feats, magic items, or class abilities are all great ideas, but I'm specifically looking for a way to help me *before* a CR 1 creature kicks my shiny metal posterior ![]()
![]() Basic Request: I'm working on a Cavalier/Wizard with an eye for Eldritch Knight, and I need help finding a good list of buff style spells with a swift casting time. Expanded Explanation: The purpose of spells for this character are mainly buffs to help take advantage of martial combat [mounted or melee] and control of the battlefield either through environment (think Web and Grease) or by manipulating the combatants (spells that aid others) The problem is, I have a DM for whom combat is almost always an ambush situation with the PC's on the receiving end. So my martial character never gets to cast preparatory spells and is constantly finding himself on the front lines of melee with wizard level armor class. Casting standard action spells during combat means he's spending his standard actions "preparing" to mow down mooks with his lance instead of actually accomplishing anything. OR he has to abandon the spells altogether which destroys the character concept and why would anyone want to play an Eldritch Knight style character this suxxorz. Does anyone know of some really good buff type spells with swift action casting times? I have an extensive library, I just don't have the time to search through all the material. Any help is greatly appreciated! ![]()
![]() So... with the FR advancing 100 years into the future, does anyone know whats in store for Salvatores Dark Elf series? I tried checking around the web-tubes, but didn't find anything. WotC is welcome to advance their FR timeline... but I don't know if I can handle it if they advance the big D's storyline. I mean... if Bruenor lasts another 100 years, I'll be impressed but everyone else is either human or halfling. They'd be long dead, and I don't know if I want to read that. The impression I got were that there were no exceptions, which saddens me greatly. So if anyone has the dish, please scoop. Note: This is not an anti-4e/pro-4e thread, PLEASE do not turn it into one. ![]()
![]() Is there any way we can make the Paladin more generalized? I've seen it done in Dragon and in some other company releases. Basically, I'm asking: What about Gods that aren't so... so... lawful good? Don't they have Holy Warriors? Why do they get the shaft? Can't we give them something? Ok, we have the Blackguard, but that's more of a corrupted Paladin thing instead of a true Holy Warrior for evil. What about the other 8 alignments? I understand the concept behind the Paladin. It was TSR's original Knightly concept. But I guess I'm asking if we've progressed to the point yet where we can seperate this into it's to core ideas: Knight
I say, make a Paladin/Holy Warrior whose abilities depend on alignment (where Lawful Good creates a typical paladin), and make the Knight a core class. May the rude gestures commence... ![]()
![]() Why do Barbarians get to be the exception to this new HD system? If it's that important to make them HP beefier, there's other ways to keep that extra HP per level without breaking rules. Keep in mind that the difference between an HD of 10 or 12 is 1 hp per level on average. This can be accomplished by... A) A class ability that adds +2 to Constitution. This is normally reserved for Monster classes, but not unheard of. or my favorite, B) Give them the toughness feat at first level. By giving them Toughness for free, even at 20th level they'd only be 2 hp beefier on average than under the current system. For a character that can top 200 hp at that point, there's no way to argue that that 2 hp is a broken system. so it's not broken, doesn't really alter the statistics on the character sheet, and doesn't have to be yet another exception to the rules. |
