That is currently what I am concerned about. It honestly feels like common sense for it to cascade to every race that has unarmed strikes. But this means that two of my SFS characters (Morlamaw/Formian) are going to have to buy a hecking Mnemonic Editor to rewrite the levels in other classes/feats they took to make shields a part of their outfit. I felt like we simplified things a bit with the errata with unarmed strikes around when COM came out, but now we've taken a step backwards into complexity/"well in this case that doesn't work."

Similarly, I don't think that the ability *designed for a class whose primary function it seems to be is making Power Armor useful* (Prototype Armor Mechanic) is not going to work as a result of this ruling. Common sense says that when your armor gives you a Fly speed of 30 feet, the synonymous reading of that is "your power armor gains a Fly speed of 30 ft" which then confers that to you the character. Since that ability is you tinkering with your armor and doing things with it that have previously been unavailable, sure that fly speed will work on Power Armor.

Looking at building a Solar Flare solarian. When I read the sentence that states "anything that specifically affects solar weapons (such as solarian weapon crystals) affects your solar flare in the same way...." I got excited and thought I would put Solar Flare on it. But then the sentence goes on to semi contradict itself in saying, "....though it can't gain any special weapon property, critical hit effect, or weapon fusion that can't be applied to a small arm."

One half of the sentence seems to state that the Soulfire fusion should work with the solar flare, as your solar flare is meant to be interhangeable for solar weapon, thus granting backwards compatibility for solar flares to be used with the old Revelations and such. But then the back half is being interpreted by some to mean it can't accept weapon fusions that can't go on a small arm.

My thinking is that it should be compatible, since the Flare seems to be intended to be synonymous with the Weapon in regards to the Soulfire fusion. The "can't take fusions that can't be placed on Small Arms" condition seems to be intended more so that you can't put Defending Fusion on the Crystal, since you could normally place it on a Weapon.

So:
-Soulfire fusion applied to Crystal
-Crystal plugged into Flare

Since the Flare is stated to be affected by everything that affects solar weapons, Soulfire should apply Charisma damage to Solar Flare attacks. Yes?

Ok so what about from the other direction. If I spend a move action to grant my drone mount a standard action on its turn per the Master Control rules, my drone can still use its move action to move and the Standard I gave it to fire. Whereas in the other scenario it wouldn't be able to move and fire if I spent my move action moving.

So then is there a point to moving your (the drone's) speed on your turn when you can just ready an action to fire after the drone has moved?

Was there any progress on this question? I'm building a Hover Drone Mechanic and am interested in a more in-depth exploration of the modifications (if any) that a hover Drone gets to existing Acrobatics systems for flying.
