M Human Cleric 4

"Now let's get something to wake them up. With any luck they even remember something."

With that, Luke begins to carry the unconscious boy to the apothecary, wrapped in a blanket.

M Human Cleric 4

Luke begins to wrap the unconscious youths in warm blankets, in order to bring them to the apothecary.

"I'll carry the the boy, can someone else pick up the girl?"

M Human Cleric 4

I should have specified, Luke was making a request rather than trying to influence attitude, so for simple requests that should only take 1 round.

"Was Catalina working with the butterfly creature? Why did she say she was bringing you here?" Luke notices the weariness on the man's face. "But yes, let's continue this conversation on your way home."

Luke looks at his fellow adventurers. "Perhaps this man's house is in the same direction as the apothecary. Let's wrap the unconscious in some warm clothes and carry them with us until we can reawaken them."

M Human Cleric 4

"We found you here, encased in wax, at the whim of a fey creature named Ilquis." Luke puts his hand to one of the coins on his amulet. "We are friends, and we will bring you back to your home, but if you could tell us everything you can about the last thing you remember, it will help us figure out who your captor was, and what he was doing."

Diplomacy with Bit of Luck: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 201d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

M Human Cleric 4

Luke confers discreetly with his compatriots, dropping his voice low so that Fane and Oana can't overhear. "Judging from what we've heard so far, the 'good' baron may be behind this plague in the first place. I suggest we see what these captives have to say before we proceed. If only I had the energies to wake them up... but you're right, the apothecary could be of assistance."

M Human Cleric 4

"I would say we should take these people to a temple, but considering the temples around these parts, I don't think that would be fortuitous... Let's see what we can do with what we have on hand."

Luke pulls out a potion and pours it down the throat of the weathered old man.

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

M Human Cleric 4

Wouldn't the healing hex have brought them back to consciousness?

M Human Cleric 4

Luke looks Adalieh square in the eyes. "My dear, surely it's this world that's mad, not you. But that's why the gods put us here - to test if we can keep our resolve in a world of madness. Stay strong, and think of the beauty we bring to this desolate place; think of the faces of Olya's parents when we bring her back, safe and sound. Yes, the shadows are fierce - but the light of goodness is fiercer, and until our light is extinguished, we'll continue to burn the shadows away wherever we go."

"Come now, let's restore some color to those downstairs." Luke smiles brightly and takes Adalieh's hand in his.

M Human Cleric 4

"Adalieh, we've freed the missing persons from their wax prison, but my powers are sapped and I haven't been able to revive them. Perhaps you could lend your expertise?"

M Human Cleric 4

Luke examines the unconscious bodies, to see if there is any sign of damage.

Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

"My energies are depleted from the fight, or I'd do my best to revive them. I'll go summon Adalieh to see if she can help these poor souls."

With that, Luke goes upstairs to find Adalieh.

M Human Cleric 4

Luke, still chipping away carefully at Olya's wax prison, says "Our first order of business should be freeing these poor souls from their entrapment. We must do what we can to revive them and restore them to their families."

M Human Cleric 4

"It appears that the one you called Ilquis was secretly working on a dark ritual. Whether the baron knew about this work, I can't say. It was his wife who charged us with finding these missing townsfolk in the first place. We did notice the baron was acting strangely... perhaps he himself has been subverted by some dark magick. Whatever the case, we need to know more about facts before we can figure out how to end this plague for good." Luke reaches up to touch his medallion. "Tell us everything about how the baron introduced you to Ilquis, what he told you about this project, what Ilquis said and did when you were with him, and who else might be involved."

Diplomacy with Bit of Luck: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 91d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

M Human Cleric 4

Luke talks back to Corso in a low voice, "If the fey beast was truly working to stop the plague, why did he attack us after we offered to help? Why would he have ensorcelled Fane and Oana? No, there is something dark at play here..."

M Human Cleric 4

Luke calls from the closet, "These men appear to have been sacrificed! Adalieh, perhaps you could learn something more about what was done to them?"

Lighting a torch, he carefully examines the nooks and crannies of the closet.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Luke then walks over to the vats.

"Thank the gods these poor wretches are still alive! Let's extricate them from these vats and see if we can awaken them."

With that, Luke pulls out a dagger and begins to gingerly carve the wax off the bodies in order to lift them out of the vats, starting with the young girl.

M Human Cleric 4

Luke checks the two bodies in the closet, searching for signs of life.

Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 81d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

M Human Cleric 4

Luke searches the room for anything else of interest, and then begins opening the three doors on the right wall.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

There are four doors in this room, correct? The one we came in, and three on the right wall?

M Human Cleric 4

"Pardon me, ma'am, but I'm quite certain that creature had you under his magic spell. I sensed an aura of enchantment on your person... and fey creatures such as Ilquis are widely known to beguile even the savviest of mortals. I assure you, we are dead-set on discovering the origin of this disease, and quenching it for good. Can you remember what tasks Ilquis was having you perform? They may give us some clues as to how we can purge this vile sickness from the town."

Luke glances at Medraut, hoping to notice whether his magical detection has picked up any auras remaining in the room, especially on Fane and Oana.

M Human Cleric 4

"Injuries? Oh yes, injuries. Let me attend to that." Luke grasps his necklace, and the group feels a benevolent energy closing their wounds.

Channeling energy:

2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5

2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12

17 total points of healing.

M Human Cleric 4

Luke takes a mighty swing at Ilquis' location, confident his blade will at last taste fey blood.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 192d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 4 = 9

M Human Cleric 4

What sort of action is it to use Heal and try and identify which one is more grievously injured? If Luke had been able to determine that Oana was already stable, he would have used the spell on Fane instead. Just for fun, I'll roll a Heal check now to see which one needs it more.

Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

M Human Cleric 4

Luke stands up, and while pointing at Oana he intones "May the gods' grace save her."

Spellcraft DC 15:
Luke is casting Stabilize on Oana

M Human Cleric 4

I don't think we're fighting a shadow now, but Luke was attacked earlier while he was coming down the ladder. When he was attacked then, I don't think he knew any better than to try and use his Adoration ability. So, he's used it 3 times vs Ilquis and once vs a shadow.

M Human Cleric 4

GM Null:
Gonna roll Knowledge (religion) to see if Luke would know better than to waste an Adoration use on a shadow..

Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Guess not. Luke has used Adoration 4 times and has 2 uses left today.

M Human Cleric 4

Luke, still soaking in his own blood on the basement floor, pulls a dagger from his belt and hurls it in the direction of his unseen foe.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 181d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

M Human Cleric 4

Luke opens his eyes to see Adalieh standing over him, looking at that moment just like an angel. "Thank you, my dear, I owe you my life."

M Human Cleric 4

Luke crumples to the ground as the stinger pierces his midriff, bleeding profusely from the gushing wound.

M Human Cleric 4

Hahahah... check out my most recent post (and roll...)

M Human Cleric 4

Feeling confident that this will be his lucky strike, Luke stabs his blade firmly into a single point in the air.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 72d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 5) + 4 = 10

M Human Cleric 4

Yay Corso! Thank the gods SOMEONE can hit.

M Human Cleric 4

Luke wildly swings in the direction from which he was hit, already picturing an explosion of blood erupting from the tip of his blade.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 92d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 4) + 4 = 13

M Human Cleric 4

Did you roll the Will save for Adoration? DC 15.

M Human Cleric 4

Undeterred by his previous misses, Luke takes another swing at the area from which Corso was injured.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 212d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6) + 4 = 13

M Human Cleric 4

Ok, no problem!

M Human Cleric 4

Luke flashes Corso a smile, and shifts into flanking position to take a swing.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 272d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 2) + 4 = 12
miss chance (1 for miss, 2 for hit): 1d2 ⇒ 1

M Human Cleric 4

Seeing the fey blood spill out from Corso's swing, Luke turns his attention from the befuddled couple and moves to strike the fey creature.

Luke provokes from Oana as he moves to where the blood fell. If possible, he'll move into a flank with Corso. He won't use Adoration on Oana's AoO, he'll save it in case Ilquis tries to hit him.

Luke swings his greatsword through the air, hoping to feel it catch on wings or flesh.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 82d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 4) + 4 = 11
miss chance (1 for miss, 2 for hit): 1d2 ⇒ 2

M Human Cleric 4

"I'm sorry Fane, but you're under the magic spell of that creature, Ilquis! These rituals are help spreading the plague, not stop it!" Luke swings the flat of his blade at Fane's legs, trying to knock them out from under him.

AoO trip attempt: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Luke provokes an AoO for the trip attempt, although my impression is that Fane is still unarmed.

M Human Cleric 4

Seeing Lorzub's reaction to the sting, Luke strides forward while pulling out a net, and tries to throw it on top of the invisible creature.

touch attack: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 - 4 = 6

miss chance (1 for miss, 2 for hit): 1d2 ⇒ 2

M Human Cleric 4

Luke continues to stand in the doorway, ready to strike if the location of the fey creature becomes apparent.

M Human Cleric 4

Luke sees Lorzub's lip moving but nothing seems to come out.

"What?"

"What?"

As Luke realizes he can't hear his own voice, he shouts, "I can't hear!"

M Human Cleric 4

Luke stands in the doorway, readying to attack should anything try to fly past.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

GM Null:
In case Luke's readied attack does actually go off, here's the attack roll and miss chance.

attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 72d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 3) + 4 = 11

miss chance (1 for miss, 2 for hit): 1d2 ⇒ 2

M Human Cleric 4

Luke moves to stand inside the open doorway, greatsword drawn and readied as if to block any creatures from passing through.

M Human Cleric 4

Luke attempts to locate Ilquis after Medraut's spell but before he himself begins moving.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

M Human Cleric 4

"Don't harm Fane, he's a friend!"

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

So close...

M Human Cleric 4

"Let me past, Fane, I must talk with Ilquis." Luke strides forward to get closer to the winged creature.

opposed charisma: 1d20 ⇒ 13

M Human Cleric 4

Let me know if I should slow down with posting.

M Human Cleric 4

"Fane, I insist you tell me whose blood that is around the drying rack, and what sort of ritual you were performing."

GM Null:
Accidentally was rolling Diplomacy earlier instead of Charisma. Here's the charisma check to give him an order:

opposed Charisma: 1d20 ⇒ 6

M Human Cleric 4

Luke says a quick charm.

Spellcraft DC 15:
Luke is casting Detect Magic.

GM Null:
Luke will use Detect Magic on the room and all three of its inhabitants. In case he sees any auras (besides the one enchantment aura on Fane), I'll pre-roll a few knowledge arcana checks.

Knowledge (arcana) 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Knowledge (arcana) 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Knowledge (arcana) 3: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

M Human Cleric 4

"We'll do what we can to see that Catalina is taken care of, but considering we don't know the poor woman, it would be prudent if someone more familiar with her would help us." Luke touches his necklace briefly. "Fane, I insist that you come with us."

GM Null:
Luke is using Bit of Luck on himself. If Fane resists the order, here is the opposed Diplo check (rolled twice):

opposed Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 121d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

gonna have to start calling it "Bit of Bad Luck"...

M Human Cleric 4

Luke takes a long look, trying to size up the inhabitants of the room.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

"That's very kind of Ilquis to help you find a cure. What exactly have you been doing to create this cure? We are working toward the same thing, we would be more than happy to help you if you tell us a bit about the process."

M Human Cleric 4

Luke says a charm and points at the man.

Spellcraft DC 16:
Luke is casting Charm Person on the man.

DC is 14

"Don't mind us, we're just going to take a look around. If you'd be so kind, would you tell us what you are doing here?"

GM Null:
If they do attack, Luke will attempt to deflect with Adoration, DC 15
