We had two paladins, of sorts, with us!

I didn’t need to control either of them, either. Feeblemind would have been useless, since they are paladins.

I was all ready to suggest that any devil assaulting us should go torment some lemures or Chelaxians. Seemed plausible that they would comply

Lucius hears the scream of his sometimes meat shield, and realizes something must be done quickly, else the Grand Lodge might be at risk. He ponders, quickly, if calm emotions would be enough. He does realize that no one would be able to tell the difference if he cast feeblemind on the Ulfen, but also wonders if teleport on himself might just be the correct response.

While he ponders this, Riddywhipple, the Pimp Dragon, flies up to THUNDERLIPS! and gives him a dose of euphoria gas.

The Rat nods, and realizes this is probably the proper response, and then realizes why the big oaf is so upset. He also still does not know his assignment for the upcoming event in the Emerald City.

The third is a ratfolk man, all decked out in a bright purple outfit, a silver-handled walking stick, and a faerie dragon on his shoulder. "I know, Riddywhipple." he says to the dragon. "We'll help them out, won't we?"

"Sure thing, boss!" says the faerie dragon. "Say, those are kobolds. I bet they want to worship me, 'cause I am a dragon!" The tiny dragon puffs himself up, and then lets out a cloud of euphoria gas at Athrax!

"Calm down, Riddy! We aren't hear for that. The Master of Scrolls wants us to use our magic to power the Sky Key."

Lucius is a ratfolk Thassalonian Love Specialist. Sure, many would say he's a lust wizard, but he'll be the first to tell you that what he sells is love... even if for the moment. So what if his favorite spell is unnatural lust. Sometimes that's extended, often persistent. And almost always followed by Riddywhipple, the Pimp Dragon, using a wand of deja vu on the target as a follow-up.

I find the two concepts that do not work well are ones that are based on GM interpretation:

- Enchantment specialists (see the thread about exactly what Charm Person does)
- Illusion specialists (the definition of 'interact' is also GM dependent).

While I cannot speak for the illusionists, I can speak for enchantments. Yes, they work, except when they don't. I never focused on charm person... I used it, sure, but there are far better spells... like unnatural lust! Oh, watching groples will never get old.

Suggestion is a little harder, because some GMs just don't think that anything is reasonable, but dominate person is definitely the bomb.

And again, this is turning into a discussion about how much control you have over a charmed individual, which isn't really what I was asking. As I said, I just want to use this spell as a substitute for diplomacy, in situations when diplomacy is perfectly normal. But if I can't get away with casting without being seen and attacked, then I'm probably going to skip it and get a different spell instead.

Fromper, I have used the spell, in PFS, for similar things. However, I always assumed that the casting could trigger combat, and typically tried it when away from a crowd, so that my new friend would be the only one seeing me cast, other than allies.

Made for some interesting hijinks.

But, I do also have very strong diplomatic skills at least in part to clever wordplay. I am a very influential ratfolk, don't you know?
