This is the first year in 5 that I wasn't able to make either Origins or Gen Con, sounds like it was a blast.

So...is PACG coming to Pax Unplugged? (he says hoping the answer is yes)

Big Finish is offering Pathfinder Legends audios at 50% off for this weekend.

https://www.bigfinish.com/news/v/pathfinder-legends---special-weekend-offer

They offer either CD (with associated free download) or download only.

I've been a subscriber for years to their Doctor Who and other ranges and they do an outstanding job - check them out!

I played 10 scenarios with Damiel at Origins and had a blast (pun completely intended). I wouldn't call him over-powered just....optimized for best play.

Even with his great talents, we got down to the final handful of blessings more than a couple times during Season of the Runelords 1 & 2. We even had a discussion on just how finely balanced PACG is overall, yes kudos to all.

I enjoyed dropping in on a random table playing 2-2C at Origins. Nice to just be able to play with folks. Of course, I was aware of this thread's feedback when we played, and learned some things. So we'll be talking about that around the office.

It was great playing with you too. We were all glad to help work on improving the scenario and it was challenging but very do-able. (even with 9 of 10 allies turning on us)

I'm fine either way but if they were pulled out, could there be Iconic Class Decks? There could be 2 or 3 per deck & put together the classes that could use similar cards, so Iconic Deck 1 could be Kyra and Seelah, Iconic Deck 2 could be Amiri & Valeros, etc.

Could be a way to have the best of both worlds

Only saw you in passing but it was great that you came.

DexCon's a good convention - about 1700 people with RPG, LARP, puzzle, video and board game tracks.

I've been twice and to it's companion convention, Dreamation once and I've learned quite a number of games there.

Unfortunately, over 3 conventions there have been only two sessions of PACG.(Both of which were full, which is great).

I'd love to have (or even run) more sessions to continue spread the word about the game. It would be great to attend (or run) some OP sessions as I've only been able to play OP with one or sometimes two other people. Maybe if OP sessions were run, we could expand that little group.

Yes, thanks to the entire Origins Paizo team.

Thanks for the Thanks Jason, it was great playing with you too and all the intrepid World Wound explorers.

It was great to see the booth busy all through the con with new people trying the game and trying organized play.

Wow is Wrath a step up in difficulty from Shackles! You really have to have a well balanced team to be able to take on some of these scenarios.

Now I just need to finish Season of the Shackles in time to get back into Season of the Righteous as soon as the official releases come out.

Flenta & Darago tackled this scenario last night as well after defeating the Brine Dragon. We play at "The Only Game in Town" in Somerville, NJ

We learned from our earlier mistakes that this particular pairing can't waste the cards in our deck so took it slow and steady. We had to burn through the entire Seaside Warehouse when we didn't have the right cards to close it and of course left the shipwreck graveyard for last.

We luckily got the "extra" card fairly high up in two locations and "only" had to tackle the graveyard 3 times each before we were able to close it.

Played this last night with a group of Flenta/Darago. This is the first time the two of us played without a Cleric and only realized about 1/2 way through the scenario that we had better conserve cards. Luckily some decent spell recharge rolls and a Staff of Minor Healing helped.

We were down to one location which had about 7 cards left and were on the final card of the blessing deck. We had already missed out on killing the Dragon once and had lost 2 blessings to that.

It was my (Flenta's) turn and we were hoping not to die. Turned over the top card of the final location and got the Dragon. Recovering from our initial shock, I had held onto a Blessing, discarded my weapon to gain an extra die and had some help from Darago with Magical Weapon(so 3d10, 1d6, 1d4). Got him!

We could not believe we survived, our decks at the end of the game had 1 (Darago) and 2 (Flenta) cards left.

We played this past Thursday - fighter (Flenta), Bard (Meliski), Cleric (Tarlin), Ranger (Arabundi) and Wizard (Darago).

We polished off two shark islands fairly quickly - we had the henchmen/sharks within the first three or four cards of each island. We began to slow down a little mid-game but finally got down to just one shark island plus Lonely Island.

We found the villain at Shark but our Ranger was not quite ready to defeat him with her hand as it stood and the number of blessings we didn't have to assist her with, so we temporarily closed Lonely Island and she was defeated.

We were doing OK on the blessings deck so were able to nearly have each player reset their hands and were lucky enough with the draws to have three Blessings of the Gods ready for me, playing Flenta, to take on the villain.

With discarding my weapon plus three Blessings of the Gods being able to copy the newly revealed blessing which allowed another extra die for combat, I believe I rolled 7 d10 plus a d8 and handly beat the villain.
(I believe I rolled 56, needed 23)

I played Flenta 5 times at Gen Con and very much enjoyed it. I typically don't play a fighter but had a lot of fun with her and viewed the spell ability as a great bonus, some thing I could do when we really needed it, not something I focused on throughout the scenario.

Casting Strength at just the right time helped our group make sure we won both Scenarios 2 and 3. Again I treated the spells as something to pull out of my back pocket at a critical moment. I can't wait to play her again and beat scenario 4 (I had to replay 1&2 to beat them)

I've only played two so far but let me give another vote for Flenta. She was so much fun to play, most of the time like a typical fighter but being able to throw in Call Weapon or Strength when needed was great.

I did play one round with the paladin-like cleric Tarlin but I'd want to play him again to give real insight into the differences in game play.

Come on New Jersey, we need more than 1 store. Who's going to step up?

Yay my brother & I are in the picture during our successful try at scenario 3

I think the base sets are the way to go for beginners. Org play really is better if you have some familiarity with the game, just like you wouldn't necessarily go straight to Pathfinder Society if you had not played the RPG before.

For a retailer, I would say to give people chances to play either of the base sets and then introduce the org play for those that get hooked. With org play not starting until September there's a chance to rev up interest in the game as a whole in time to get in on the first scenarios.

That being said, at our last game of the con, we played scenario 1 again with new characters along with 3 who had played RotRL but not org play or S&S and one who had never played Pethfinder ACG at all. We and the Paizo staff brought him up to speed and he picked it up pretty quickly. He liked the game, saying that it had a lot if the mechanics of an RPGs that he liked, combat, rolling for saves, etc without having to get into deep role playing and without,as he said, worrying about a jerky GM. He was not, though, interested in continuing with org play yet. The 3 new to org play but not the game jumped right into another session of org play.

I've played her four times in organized play here at Gen Con and am really enjoying having the spells available when needed. My first fighter I've played and she makes it fun.

Scenario 2 is quite interesting and challenging but if you take advantage of the rules regarding ships from this release you can make it work.

The Paizo staff has been very helpful and encouraging and worked hard to make sure that everyone playing 4 times got their class decks. They were also very happy to hear that people were interested in playing characters other than the iconics. I would say its about 50/50 of those playing iconics vs the new characters. Flenta is quite fun

Played 2x scenario 1 of organized play with Flenta, the new fighter who keeps some spells on scrolls and really enjoying it. I'm typically not one who plays fighters but this one really drew me in
