The concept behind my guy is that he's physically pathetic but mentally strong and focuses in Enchantments. I'd hoped to drop my Str and Dex to a 7 to give myself the following stats:
High Wis because that's his primary casting stat and he'll only be using spells and abilities in combat. Sure, he can try and use a hand crossbow or something, but try is the operative word.
High Intelligence so I can roleplay him intelligently and get an extra 2 skills.
High Charisma so he can Channel to heal a useful amount of times per day.
If you're unhappy with that and want me to put my Str and Dex to a 9 then it can't be done however, but I thought it was worth putting it out there. I'm in the middle atm with an 8 in both of those and a 12 Con and Int. Everything else is complete, but yea, this guy was more about being a Leader who can support party members well, but is far more geared towards heavy roleplay than combat.
This guy was made for Kingmaker but never got very far, so if you like his backstory, then if he's not already at 20pt buy I'll adjust him to be so. :)
Lelouch's background kinda cuts him off from the Orlovsky family for most of his life, up to the point of the start of the adventure. Big obstacle to overcome. Also paints them or at least the current head, which is not official PF, as somewhat evil in my opinion. Conflicts with a lot of things concerning the Orlovsky family, seems like it is more suited to House Surtova really. Throw in the fact that Lelouch worships himself and seems bent on leadership, that could be an issue with Lorald considering his faith and own backstory.
Haha, well I created his backstory long ago and wanted to go with a "not all Orlovsky's avoid conflict" approach. His father is evil but his whole entire family is something I've added into the universe to give decent plot hooks with. Lelouch walks a fine line between good and bad because he knows what he wants and needs to do, but doesn't let evil acts stop him if it means reaching a greater good.
It's unlikely we'd be in the same campaign, but if we were, not all of his relatives are evil. You could even be a cousin for all I know.
I've been looking at getting into Kingmaker for a very long time now, so was eager (one of the 1st to post in this thread - under Apollo Randasian) to apply. As a cousin you might not know much of Lelouch's side of the family and if you did indeed discover Charles' intentions, perhaps you'd also like to aid in bringing him down?
Lelouch may be arrogant and prefers to achieve his own goals over anyone else, but first and foremost in order to achieve that, he needs a group of allies who'd aid and fight for him while he commands from the back with clever tactics and manipulative mind games.
He messes with all who oppose him and heavily supports all those who he sees as allies. I guess you could compare him to V from V for Vendetta. He has a cause and he wants those he selects to follow his cause, convincing them to see the world as he does.
All sorted now to 20 point buy! (was on 15 before)
Str and Dex is purposely low and is not a dump. This character is physically weak and I will be roleplaying every single part of that.
When it comes to running, he'll be out of breath before anyone. He will never be a frontline character, commanding only from the back where he can have a good view of the battles in front of him and supporting those he works with, keeping himself and all those around him alive with his own tactics and abilities.
He may be a supportive character (incredibly well so at that), but he has his own motives and see's those he works with as people working for him. He's physically pathetic but mentally outstanding and will be a formidable opponent, but an even greater ally.
P.s. If you need help with maps, I'm good with Photoshop, so will happily scale maps and characters for you in each encounter. :)
Considering a gnome bard with wanderlust. He has been in some shady dealings in Brevoy, and needs to lie low (the Brigand campaign trait), but his natural wanderings and inquisitiveness are what's really driving him.
No bards submitted yet, it appears. Or gnomes for that matter.
Well, you say that but my Cleric plays like a Bard. :p
Please may I submit this character? I'd love to.play this and Lelouch was made for this game. He wants to be King and has a lot of motivation and reasoning for being in the stolen lands!
Been waiting to play this for a very long time! Please read this character profile for complete build, fluff and flavour!
Controversial but a leader who leads by supporting his team mates. He's a mentally powerful but horrifically, physically weak character.
He supports his team and wants them to work for his cause but will support them with everything he has, as he knows his strength relies on tactics and his teams strength.
He see's the world like a game of chess that he's just itching to win.
Same originally, but I really tried to make it work. :p
His stats in str and dex will be purposely pathetic. Just gotta stay out of that combat huh!
As for spells, well I have that all figured out. He has to talk to cast his spells, so I'd say "Lelouch Vi Britannia commands you!" when he casts command for example, followed by the word/action he wishes the enemy to perform.
Commanding an enemy to run away through the middle of our party...for example. ;)
Pretty much, simply because that's who he is now, and he was built around being able to help (via channeling energy and spontaneous healing spells) by having his own mind control spells and having the option of overwriting them with spontaneous healing...only in the situations that proved most dire mind, as he likes the ability to manipulate those around him, turning foe to friend etc.
Will you be using maps for this at all, just so combat is easier to imagine or just text explanation?
Command and Murderous Command (hehe :p) are Cleric only spells btw, and I know it's strange, but I felt they should have been on the wizard spell list and yet, no matter how fitting they are for an enchanter, they are locked to the Cleric list.
With the lesser geas thing - What I was trying to do was to have it unlocked so instead of effecting a certain HD of creatures, it scales with him, so it could be his main power that would grow as his abvilities grow over the period of the game. The ability to control others as a standard action would be his main focus as far as spells are concerned, but due to the 10 minute casting time of "Geas", I won't ever be using the full version.
Haha, well I only made him as a Cleric originally as my real life GM at the time said I had to play a Cleric, so I figured I'd play one I found appealing. The whole party was afraid of him and he had a flawless plan to overthrow the ruler and take his place... :p
He was made specifically for this campaign so I'd really love to be able to take part. Kingmaker is the only campaign I'll ever play him in, so it'd be nice to get somewhere in the story with him.
My take on his Knightmare frames - His Armour. :)
Chainshirt - Gawaiin engraved into it.
Breastplate - Shinkiro engraved into it.
I doubt he'll afford Breastplate to begin with, so he'll start with a Chainshirt.
I would very much like to submit this guy, except he's currently on a 20 pt buy, so I'll need to rebuild him.
If you like the look of him, please let me know and I'll adjust his stats accordingly. :)
He's neutral good. He'll work with others, even if a bit arrogant, but if someone threatened him, PC or NPC, he'd do anything he could to escape the situation as he's physically weak and focuses on supporting those around him, in his mind to do his bidding.
He wants a world without conflict and will fight for that, carrying out evil deeds if it means a greater good can come of it (or if he needs to get himself out of a tight spot as he's pretty devious and very intelligent), but he hates his father and would gladly take down most of the members within House Orlovsky, once he's built up his own Kingdom with whoever else would accompany him.
He's Noble and aims to become Ruler, and is a Cleric of his own ideals who focuses in mind control and enchantments, with a strong focus on aiding his allies.
Yep, I'm still interested. Always am, but it seems Lelouch has been my Marmite so far.
I love to play him, but I've had mixed feelings from other players, some even getting him kicked out of campaigns, so I haven't ever gotten far with him, but it's just the way he is.
If someone threatens him, he'll do as much as he can in a non-harmful way to get himself out of situations (even if targeting other PC's to run away with non damaging command spells is deemed as harmful by the rules). He's Noble and has all of the traits that come with it and is the one and only character I want for this campaign.
I've put a huge amount of work into him, but people are either against allowing him cast through his eyes...having his eyes as his divine symbol, or players seem to ruin it. So, I'm still here, wishing I could play with my Noble, Orlovsky Charm Cleric as always. :p
Hmm, it was just flavouring and like anything else, can easily be prevented.
For example, someone with a weapon or item as a divine focus can no longer use their powers if their focus is destroyed. If your eyes are your focus, blinding does the same thing, only with more penalties because you can no longer see.
I don't like sticking to usual concepts. I like to keep things unique and his power is within his family genetics in my head, which is why his power source was meant to be his eyes. They were for his father too, and a trait allows you to have a birthmark (the birthmark trait) as a Divine Focus, so I really didn't think it was a big deal.
I wasn't aware Clerics of own ideals could choose a weapon of faith, but if that's the case, a Light Crossbow will do. :)
As for gear, I wanted a light Crossbow but am 7gp short, so I've given him a bedroll, blanket, some rations and a waterskin.
I've also given him a rank in Knowledge History and Perception. :)
I've bolded Diplomacy in my Noble Born trait, as that's what it's applied to. Sorry for not stating. :)
As for coming in with people, I'm pretty sure considering his backstory, Lelouch would enter alone.
Also, maybe I'm going mad, but I read somewhere the relations between Brevoy Nobility and now I can't find it anywhere, but from what I recall Orlovsky's have some kind if disliking for House Lebeda and House Surtova.
Edit: Found it
Quote:
Garess - GOOD. Lord Howlan and our house share several relatives. The Lord is a respectable man and shares much of our same mores. A pity that he backs Surtova so firmly.
Lebeda - BAD. Opportunists who snubbed Lord Howlan and who are scrimping at the scraps that House Surtova deigns to give them. Unworthy of respect.
Lodovka - AVERAGE. Scoundrels, but they tend not to bother our interests.
Medvyed - GOOD. Honorable people of the forest.
Restov - AVERAGE. Fiercely independent people; generally a bunch of flashy swindlers who are not to be trusted, but their resilience is to be admired.
Surtova- POOR. Our refusal to swear to the King has been trying his, but especially his Queen and Lord Domani's patience.
Yea, I think that's the universal way it's done. You vote etc, and yea, how I created Lelouch was originally I was made to play a Cleric (I hated them prior), but realised a Cleric is THE best character for mind control. I just always found it odd they get Geas/Quest, but not Lesser Geas, which is a shame as that allows you to do it as a standard action.
It's weird, Enchanters/Wizards actually have a lot less Enchantment Spells available to Clerics. Command and Murderous Command aren't on the Wizard Spell List for example.
I'll work out what I should change my trait to then.
I believe we are witnessing a phenomenon known as 'Power Roleplaying'. ;)
Haha, well I have a concept and will stick with it whether it benefits me or not, but I really like this character.
Kinda hoping to have Lesser Geas on my spell list (every other GM has been okay with it, but I understand it's not for every GM to allow things like that) but we'll see.
I have no idea who has the highest Charisma score amongst us, but I'm sure many of us will be fighting for positions when it comes to Kingdom Building!
Looking forward to playing with you guys, so have a great weekend and I'll see you in game! :)
Ah, it was a long time ago I played. I remember a few bits, but I never meta and never sway my decisions. All I try to keep the same are relationships between NPC's, so it feels like the character still.
Lesser Geas was the spell I meant. Full Geas is available and on the Cleric list, but Lesser Geas isn't, so I was just wondering about a homebrew Geas that works the same, but has no HD limitation and can be used as a standard action like lesser Geas, representing his power while locking off his other Spell Domains (Evocation, Conjuration etc).
So in short, I was asking if I could lock all other spell domains off to have lesser geas on his spell list (as per the Bard spell, functioning exactly the same and being available to use at the same level it would a bard, only being a spell I can use as a Charm Cleric as it's not on the Cleric list).
As for his stats, yea, I wasn't dumping them. If I could put his Dex down to a 5, regardless of whether it gave me points, I would have. He's a slow guy and extremely weak. :)
Also, what are all of your aspiring positions? Castor's aiming for High Priest (good call) while Ruler is what I'm aiming for, because Lelouch would have a hard time accepting anything less with his Tactics and Mental Attributes, but he's also good at identifying the strengths of others, so if a few of you are unsure, IC I'm sure he'd guide you with suggestions.
I've played a little of this campaign at a tabletop game before and things can get really interesting with how I use his spells, at times giving the whole party a huge advantage over the enemy.
With his personality, some of you may hate him while others may grow to love him and loyally follow his ideals, but it's a roleplaying game, so it's always nice to see how things pan out.
Additionally, with the inclusion of maps, I'll be getting pretty tactical with my positioning in fights, possibly being the (physically) weakest team member on board. :p
Anyway, I'm glad so many of you made it and am pretty thankful for being selected!
The 8 in Strength and Dex is something I don't normally do, but for this character, it was right as he's physically underwhelming, but mentally brilliant (a 15 in Intelligence when he doesn't even require that stat - yea, I chose to do that to represent his intellect in combination with his Wisdom, rather than giving him a 17 Charisma because that would have just been power gaming).
I sent you a PM Trips. You may have read it already and be in the process of deciding on things, but if you haven't had the chance, well, consider it a friendly reminder. :D
Just about to sign up to your forum now, so thanks once again. I really hope this doesn't die out as it's one AP I'd love to play until the end!
P.s. What was your deciding factor with Lelouch? He seems pretty high up there in the selection list. :)
Thanks for picking me. Looking forward to this and if you haven't watched Code Geass, you might want to, to see how accurate I'm going to roleplay this character to his original concept. Also, it's an incredibly epic.
I quite like the idea of option 1 and 2, so either's a great idea. Two campaigns although fun for us, would really suck for you, so if I had to choose one in particular, I think the 1st option would be best, though if you went with two rival groups, they could build a Kingdom each, with the possibility of diplomatic trade and help sought from one another to beat the campaign and go to the (I'm guessing) eventual war together, if such a thing happens towards the end.
Also, did you get the name "Will Thatcher" from A Knight's Tale? :p
I had a look at your build and it's nothing like the character, but hey, names can come from anywhere. "Sir Ulllllllllllllllrich Von Lichtenstein!"
From the little I've played of Kingmaker, two groups of six could actually work and would make for an interesting campaign, but it would also be pretty heavy on the GM to keep track of everything, so I see that as unlikely. However, if the GM loves the idea, I'd be happily proven wrong. :)
Looks like a lot of us are really hoping to get in, and with the amount of applications, who knows what kind of party those of us playing will end up in!
I'll be constantly checking up on this thread, hoping for the best!
I post daily. My other posts are proof of such. My only downtime is usually Friday and Saturday when I see my gf, but like pbp's that move fast. Posting three times a day is fine by me.
I used 20pt buy. It seems most common and I always run campaigns on that. :-)
Profile is finished with build, history, abilities, personality and relation details!
I'm crossing my fingers with this one, and as a note, Lelouch is meant to be physically pathetic, but mentally sharp.
He always stands as a leader behind his allies, at the back and out of harms way, where he can effectively way up situations as a tactician, commanding his allies as a highly supportive character.
He has his own goals he wants to pursue, and wishes to convert those he travels with to his cause, with an intention to manipulate anyone around him to achieve what he's set out to accomplish. He see's everything like a big game of chess. He's the King, those he fights with are his pawns, and allies who show their worth will be considered the equivalent of Queen, Knight, Bishop etc on the battlefield.
I hope this sounds good to you. It's clear a lot of people want in on this, and so I'm hoping for the best! :)
He was in the very start of another campaign, but due to a player issue was kicked out in favour of the original player.
I'm in a Shattered Star and Legacy of Fire AP atm, so feel free to check out my posts. My LoF character is a free spirit and thinks he can handle himself, my SS character is a friendly thief who avoids being detected and scouts for the party...and Lelouch (for this campaign) is a powerful support character who commands his enemies.
I'll need to edit his stats a bit as the GM for the other game had a few homebrew idea's going on with him, but apart from that, although an arrogant character to his enemies and sometimes coming across that ay to his friends, he's Noble by nature and so acts as such, but can get along with anyone, so long as they're on his side.
Full backstory and details are in this alias, though I'm going to give it a once over now to remove any obvious homebrew.
If chosen there is one thing I'd like to ask of you, but we'll see if it comes to that.
He's a Charm Cleric of own ideals, planning to become ruler of his own Kingdom with great ideals and a good bit of mystery and cunning to his character.
This is my submission post. :)
Thank you for your consideration!
Edit:
He's statted up as level 2, but once I de-level him, the GM Curse (feel free to read!) will be removed and his stats will be as follows:
Racial Trait: Silver Tongued - Humans with this trait gain a +2 bonus on Diplomacy and Bluff checks. In addition, when they use Diplomacy to shift a creature's attitude, they can shift up to three steps up rather than just two. This racial trait replaces skilled.
Traits:
Magical Lineage (Lesser Geas): Pick one spell when you choose this trait. When you apply metamagic feats to this spell, treat its actual level as 1 lower for determining the spell’s final adjusted level. If possible I'd like this to be my main spell, unlocked to either my full casting level, getting more powerful as it increases, or to something like three quarters of my caster level. You could lovk off all domains but Charm and Nobility if you wanted, to represent his true power and focus. Depends what you'd allow/be interested in doing if the character concept interests you. :)
Noble Born - Orlovsky: Your family has a reputation for avoiding conflicts.
Benefit You gain a +1 trait bonus on your CMD. In addition, choose Acrobatics, Diplomacy, or Stealth—you gain a +1 trait bonus on this skill. Your family motto is “High Above.”
I post from England, so if you're from Scotland, will be on probably the same times as you, and I post frequently, with this guy being the character with most roleplay potential, though he doesn't mind overthrowing people of power to get to where he wants to be, so if you're okay with that, I'll look forward to possibly playing with you!
Hmm. I could have sworn he mentioned that he'd said something to you, via a PM conversation I was having with him a day or so ago. Guess not then, but yea, there are a lot of strong personalities in this group, so anything can happen and I changed Lelouch's personality because although he's Noble and carries most traits of a stereotypical man of wealth, his real arrogance is with his enemies. He's just assertive with his party members/allies at times when things need to be done, and I feel that can be somewhat easily and mistakenly received as arrogance.
He can be a little cheeky and has a sense of humour in the more light hearted of situations though, and Klaus has already witnessed that, with his little water trick.
Yea, that's my point Torq. It's now added a huge amount of roleplay options for me, as I'm sure it's added a few for other characters. I have no intention of leaving, but if I am kicked out, I have no choice in the matter. Blood roleplayed the most devastating part of the assault, and I plan to roleplay with it. :)
To be honest, I have actually been very fair with how I've acted. You said his arrogant style bothered you, but still gave me the ultimatum of "if you don't change his style and character, I won't play", so his personality seemed to magically change completely, as I did as you asked and changed it.
The spell was also well intended, serving its purpose of not harming Fizz or Lelouch, but I can't change the way you feel even if to me, it's very generalistic. I explained everything, we both have our reasons. I'm willing to roleplay on, and it's a shame you don't feel the same, but I'm just tired of arguing really. Everyone should just get along and continue with the game.
Any shot at King right now for Lelouch has been compromised, as characters believe him to be an assassin, he was almost killed and he has been stripped of all dignity. If an escape plan could go horribly wrong, this would be it, and I feel that personally it more than makes up for the issue. In regard to personalities, Klaus has a cold personality and Lelouch was and now can be, arrogant. We were both spoken to by Blood and as far as I'm aware, we both changed our play style accordingly. :)
Could easily just continue it from the point Lelouch heard stuff, and have him flee at 4x his speed back to camp.
It would allow for the roleplay to continue and not detract from the story. I only had him cast the spell because I didn't think he'd escape in time.
Anyway, I agree about the jumping about thing because it's really hard to keep track of what's going on. This crying girl in the woods I thought was originally before the war party and now we're on the war party again, so I don't really know what's currently happening.
Not every character needs to get on. If you left it for a bit, Lelouch wouldn't be speaking to you, so it won't actually effect anything.
RAW say it's harmful, but if you immerse yourself, being told to run away doesn't deal damage to you in any way, so as per the definition of the word, it is not harmful. The only thing probably making it harmful is the fact it takes free will away for 1 round and 1 round only.
I made sure Lelouch went out of his way to try and befriend you, so just kind of calm down and see it for what it is - An in game move to get one character as far as possible away from another, after going to help and then discovering something he shouldn't have. I would act this way in real life if I had the ability to and couldn't do anything physical if my life depended on it, and you saved, and almost had Lelouch killed in return, so I'd say you've got your payback.
It's just sad because I've only just joined, am getting to know the other characters and it's like you just won't give me or my character a chance to enjoy the game.
This was the last game I was going to play before leaving these forums and stopping pathfinder in general, and I thought having been nice enough to change my characters personality to keep you in game, you could have been kind enough to return the favour. I'm just mistaken, which is a shame, because Blood is one of the best GM's I've played with on here.
Both are incredibly unlikely, and you know that. From my knowledge out of character, you're linked with that were-jaguar, and a dragon at level 2. No GM who I've ever come across would even think about doing that, and I'm pretty sure those accompanying you would have followed you.
An ultimatum....over a spell being cast that was to get my guy out of trouble.
I think you should just stop generalising and realise that not every player on here has ill intentions. I just sent you a PM explaining the matter in full. If I wanted to kill anyone in game, I could try (and fail), but I'm a Cleric, and a good one (NG) at that, so it's not his intention.
I too got annoyed, more so for the fact that you let out of character reasons effect how you roleplay. I didn't once ask you to change your character personality (you did of me, and I did accordingly because you threatened to stop playing if my guy didn't stop being arrogant...before Fizz even met him) and so I had hoped you'd have been able to take such a simple spell and roleplay with it.
Lelouch purposely chose not to cast something offensive on you, but he's slow, has no stealth and I didn't even say I was sneaking in to start with. My intention was to just walk in, but the GM obviously made me go in stealthily for a reason, so I went with it.
He used his brain however. He's slow at only 20ft movement, and so his best option was to command you to run away from him, so he could effectively retreat...which didn't work out for him sadly.
I just wish people like you could roleplay more and not let personal feelings get in the way.
Lelouch has no clothes right now, because his best ones were ripped up, but I'm roleplaying it to see what happens.
Though thanks for making it so I'm forced to leave. :/
It was harmless and all that I could really do once I'd been spotted to try and escape. It's nothing personal against you, so there's no need to make it personal. PVP is like me saying "I swing my hammer at you or explode you". This was to get him the hell out of there, and knowing his weakness, he panicked. I know what you asked, but this isn't a bad way of playing. I'm roleplaying how my character would act, and am purposely not being a douche about it. I don't dictate how you play your character, and yet I toned his personality down a HUGE amount because you said you'd stop playing if I didn't, and you still have a go about this. Wishing a PC would be killed on the grounds that the PC told you to run away so he could escape himself, is as bad as someone PVP'ing to kill another party member. I specifically said if I cast spells on party members, they aren't going to be harmful. I don't care about nearly dying though. It's a roleplaying game, things can get misinterpreted as easily as they can in real life. There's no need to be so peed off at me over this, and if you are, that's your problem. We don't need to speak to one another out of character.
Something with my backstory that I've arranged with the GM. His power is a little different to your typical Cleric. How it originates at least, and yea I know about how you reacted, but it wasn't a physical attack, or attack in general. It's just unfortunate that any spell targeted at someone is considered hostile, upon reading what I quoted above. ;)
Succeeding on a Saving Throw: A creature that successfully saves against a spell that has no obvious physical effects feels a hostile force or a tingle, but cannot deduce the exact nature of the attack. Likewise, if a creature's saving throw succeeds against a targeted spell, you sense that the spell has failed. You do not sense when creatures succeed on saves against effect and area spells.
Not being something I've ever been aware of before, I figured I'd look it up, and it turns out that although you only feel a hostile force or tingle, combined with the fact I was whispering, it isn't hard to put 2 and 2 together when you guys had Darkvision.
Curse the Were-Jaguar. Deceiving Lelouch, making him think she was in trouble, then she transforms into a beast and goes mental on him. Helping others was almost his downfall.
