![]() After a long hiatus, I am going to try another campaign. I always loved the old D&D Giant series, so I am going to run Giantslayer. My last few attempts, it was hard to say no top people so I ran two tables. That was a mistake, so this time one table only. I will take 6 players. My first priority is a well rounded group. I also want somewhat fast play, so please be prepared to post regularly, especially during combats. Recruitment will be open for one week, ending at noon EST on Saturday, 9/19. I will then make a decision within a couple of days. Expectations:
1) Read the player's guide for Giantslayer! 2) Try to post once a day. However, when I am lagging, you can too :) 3) Make a short and simple background for your character that explains why you are who you are (i.e. why you're a first level fighter), and why you are in the town of Trunau. That's all I need. You can embellish if you want, but make sure to have the info i just mentioned. Also include a proposed advancement idea (not set in stone though). 4) Be fun! Special rules:
1) We will use the Elephant in the room feat tax rules. https://michaeliantorno.com/the-elephant-in-the-room-feat-taxes-in-pathfind er-page/. For those of you with Hero Lab, here is a link that shows you how to add these rules as an option to your Hero Lab https://michaeliantorno.com/feat-taxes-in-pathfinder-herolab-mod/ 2) Casters usually get screwed by APs because of the lack of time for crafting and I like people to use their crafting feats. Therefore, the time required to craft is instead solely based on the spells used and the time to craft a masterwork version of the item in question (note that if you already possess a MW item, then just the spells are required. However, the time is a minimum of one day. character creation:
Stats: 4d6, reroll 1's, take best three. If you have a bad roll, default to 25pt. buy. For those that like to gamble, you can roll a second set under the same rules, but then you can only default to a 20 pt. buy. Choose wisely :) Traits: 2 traits, plus a campaign trait. You can take a Drawback for an additional trait. Note, I pay very close attention to Drawbacks. Restrictions: NO GUNS! I want to run a fantasy game, I will make changes to the AP as needed for this issue. No Summoners, of any type. No psionics or psychics; (1) I am not that familiar with those rules, and (2) I want a single "magic" system in use. Hit points: Max at 1st level. Advancement will be discussed with those that make the cut. Starting Wealth: Roll or average, whichever is higher. Misc.: No to Stamina, VMC and fractional bonuses. Well, that's it for now. I'm quite certain that I forgot something, so don't hesitate to ask. ![]()
![]() For several weeks, excitement has been building in Kenabres—Armasse is coming! Traditionally an opportunity for scholars and priests to come together to study the lessons of history from wars past, since Aroden’s death, this holy day has become more about training commoners in weaponry, choosing squires, and ordaining new priests. Over time, Armasse has grown to encompass jousting competitions, mock duels, battle reenactments, and other festival events. In Kenabres, the festival (which takes place on 16 Arodus) is eagerly anticipated, for it provides distractions from the horrors of being on the front line of the war. Smiles on faces normally marred by downcast eyes and furrowed brows do wonders for city morale in the weeks leading up to the event. Armasse is a citywide celebration, but the majority of the event, including its jousting matches and other entertainments, takes place at Clydwell Plaza, just west of the cathedral. Each of you are in attendance near the cathedral’s facade. You've been lucky enough to get good spots to observe the opening ceremonies at noon. ![]()
