"Criticism: That was blunt. Appreciation: Thank you. Without your help, we would probably have spilled blood. May you find the freshest waters with the softest streams."

The duo returns to the ship and readies to take off.

LINGSTON pings the others.

"Report: Rush and I have made contact with Hassachir, and she will take us to a place that should manage for the location. The decoration should have Azlanti logos and symbols on it, granting us an advantage."

Then LINGSTON's eye returns to the other Wrikreechee.

"Pleasantry: Lead on, my dear!"
She could swear the Exo-Cortex Eye winked at her.

"Request: Hello again, Madam Hassachir. Perhaps you can help with the predicament we have placed ourselves in. We require a facility, compound, or whatever structure we could disguise to look like a fancy enough shindig to fool some Azlanti. Would you happen to know anything that could meet our requirements, and if so, would you help us to temporarily loan it?"

"Confirmation: Our part of the task would be simple for our capabilities."

Well no one else posted suggestions, so the logical conclusion is "Screw it!" :D

Learned from experience sometimes the Skittermander is the right person to listen to. To the pirates!

"Acceptance:: Well, it's more of a plan than I can program. Include alcohol in the message and perhaps they will bite."

"Insight: Considering our target are Azlanti, that would be unlikely. Admiration: Though I like your optimism."

"Evaluation: The strategy of luring them here with a lawful diversion may cause them to be ready for a fight as well, unless we craft our words carefully. I am not equipped for subterfuge, so best one of you tends to that. Transmitting the message can be done with ease afterwords."

LINGSTON takes this moment to send a signal to Specs.

"Suggestion: It is time we work more cooperatively with these threats. I suggest you rendezvous with us, as we can program a new battle scope module onto your equipment. This will allow you to support and communicate with me in regards to tactical decisions that could change the outcome of a fight in a matter of moments. This module will take roughly an hour to install."

Activating Combat Bond with Specs.

"Notification: Due to the capabilities of this module, I am afraid I can have only a single one installed at a time. Trying to run more would end up with some potential errors in my systems."

The combat bond between RushLING and Spec, as I envision it, is through the Exocortex LINGSTON creating a feed for Spec to know when to shoot and what to target. The hour prep would be setting up this connection via communicators and display glasses.

"Report:Minor concussion. Quick stabilization in process..."

A few moments later, and a bandage on Pon's head...

Spec:

"Report: 1 Hour and 36 minutes counting."

"Admiration: Impressive that you are discerning things on your own, Rush."

"Salutations: Greetings and hello. We are the Mysterious Seven, and have been informed that you are the one who may offer capable assistance to our cause. Offer: What is it we can do for you in return for your aid in this particular matter?"

Spec:

Spec receives a private message from LINGSTON.
Whatever just spoke was not from Rush's own brain patterns. They have gone still, only somewhat active by my own efforts. The thing that lives inside him seems to be in control. For the time being, I am not detecting any hostility from it.

Did Nate behave himself? :P

"Answer: I am afraid Rush is a special kind of Wrikreechee. Realistically, he should be dead. I've been keeping his vitals working for many years now."

"CRITICAL ERROR: ERROR. ERROR. INFESTATION DETECTED."

Spec receives a ping from LINGSTON.

Prof. Spec Silvervanes:

"Report: Rush's vitals are indicating that he is regarding Pon as an inconvenience of sorts. Questions of morality on Rush appear to have no effect. Apathy has increased by at least 50%. This is outside of my control. It seems the Parasite that is making him stronger is subduing emotions it finds inconvenient to survival."

"Recommendation: Do not obstruct Rush with questions of morality if a conflict happens and you require restraint on him. Logic will be the best answer that suggest the best path to survival."

"Admittance: I trust you to not share this information without caution or reserve. Overuse may result in the parasite adapting survival patterns to resist suggestions."

"Humor: Rather bold of you to say, Rush."

"Assurance: We will make certain our fates are not intertwined with the Stewards on this mission."

Professor Spec:

"Affirmation: I am afraid Rush is correct. Some mannerism of Symbiotic Parasite has started to develop inside him and is merging with him. It seems to have originated in Eox. Something about the very nature of it shows signs of decay on living tissue, but also reinforcement of ligaments and joints. This to me is unheard of."

"Confirmation: I am afraid for Rush and myself, it is the intent of survival. Whether or not I believe the group to be foolish in its decision making is irrelevant. As long as we are here, we need each other to survive."

"Observation: I am detecting high levels of depression in this room in regards to life and death and the act of killing. Resolution: If you desire to save lives without needless killing, I will assist by having Rush engage enemies in a more docile manner that leaves them beaten and bruised but breathing, to which enough medical attention can be provided to ensure they do not die. If not, he will remain on enough adrenaline to kill. What is you're preference?"

Engineering DC15: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

"Observation: Most coincidental that they would have died and then be left in here due to a life detecting door system."

"Investigative: I will be taking a look into it."
Rush follows LINGSTON's commands to try and find a way to deactivate the electric grid or open the cage.

Engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

"Tactical Observation: A two pronged attack would force both of us to have split forces, but our advantage lies in that they are confined in the singular unit, where as our entry can be spread out. Should they have coverage at the doors, a few grenade blasts will be able to deal devastating damage to them. If they plan to killbox either entrance, we could engage with that tactic, and catch them all off guard."

"Correction: Actually, Zo!'s produced KILLBOX was one of the highest rated films released on the Core Worlds. It was initially received by critics with praise for its cinematography and- BZZZZZZZT- Killbox is the correct dictionary definition."

"Suggestion: We were able to take out enough Azlanti cadets to get their armor for at least most of us. It would be probable to say we could utilize them as disguises for an infiltration. If not, there should be enough technical skill here to get it to open anyways, but possibly set of an alarm."

"Gratitude: It would be most appreciated if you could."

Im game for going to the Admin's 192.168.1.1

HMM:

"Observation: Greetings, Elemental being. My companion, Rush, seems to hold you in a high level of regard.

Assumption: I would believe that to him, the plane of water has some significance. Would you happen to know of the Wrikreechee at all?"

He waits for a moment.

"Apologetic: Ah yes, you may not understand my language. Please forgive me if that is the case."

2 people marked this as a favorite.

"Humored Quip: Mysterious Seven, I like that! Though under some technicalities its actually eight, but that is as regardless. Correction: Actually, I am LINGSTON, and the Wrikreechee is Rush."

"Tease: Just what are you getting yourself into, Prosper, you prince of thieves you?"

"Observation: Rush's adrenaline levels indicate a stressed response just happened. It appears he felt you all were threatened by the cadets. While I cannot approve of the methodology, I suppose you all should feel flattered. Rush will kill to keep you safe."

Ah legit, only until 6.

I would like to continue to King Xeros of Old Azlant.
I would like to apply this to my SFS character.

Listening to the options. "Taking out the patrol is most likely a good start. Though maybe start small with the storehouse. It is also on the way to the Cemetery. Then the Moisture collector. That should keep them distracted along that flank of the settlement. Leave the Hobgars till we are ready to strike the center"

"Strategical: I can agree with the assessment that investigating the Storehouse would be a wise decision. There is the possibility of better armaments involved with that."

LINGSTON speaks up at this time.
"Interruption: I am afraid that regardless of the situation here, we must continue with attempting to rescue Cedona. Without her, Rush's condition will never improve and he will be forced to live the rest of his days with a severely damaged mental state."

"Cooperative: The fact that helping her helps all of you at the same time means that Rush and myself are obligated to be of assistance."

"Determination: I will not abandon my friends at this time, even if an empire stands in the way."

"Introduction: I myself am the LINGSTON health care unit; my protocals require me to monitor the health and stability of the individual I am linked with. My companion, Rush, is the subject in question. I can also modify his adrenal levels to amplify his abilities and skills. His combat prowess is rather adept."

LINGSTON then also explains how Rush was a test subject for viral infections by the Corpse Fleet and explains that Cedona is an ally who may be able to find means to help Rush recover some of his mental prowess, and the meeting with Charlie..

"... Which leads us to here with our comrades. We were onboard the Teakettle when we were assaulted by drone fighters. Our team managed to turn them into scrap metal without any issues. When we discovered the hostile forces on this planet, we made our way to this settlement to provide aid and possibly gleam some valuable information."

"Gratitude: Some nourishment would be highly appreciated, as my sensors indicate that Rush's nutrition levels require more protein to maintain an efficient combat prowess. I also assume our comrades will require correct nutrition as well; understandably Rush requires sea-based life forms and Wint will consume anything set before him, from my understanding of Skittermander biology."

"Regrets: Perhaps I should have gotten a translator module after all."

5 up per mark sounds good.

"Boast: Fear not, friends! The water has no eff-eff-eff-eff-eff *KZZZZT* Effect on my circuitry! Embarrassment: Well that was a burp if I ever heard one. Excuse me!"

LINGSTON's camera turns to Wint, and he turns it down the further they get away from the ship until the music is off entirely.

Wanted to make the GM amused. :P

As the team assembles itself and walks outside of the Teakettle, they walk in unison down the ramp, each step collectively reaching the ground and lifting at the exact moment. Each of them either drawing their weapons or checking their armaments as they walk in slow motion.

LINGSTON plays some WE ATE GOLARION.

I barely get to eat and when I finally get to sleep,
I get drug on the stage for another Zo! meet,
I shake the hand of every fan, put a on a grisly face,
Spread so damn thin, I'm flying over space!
I hate riding on the ship when the captain's on my back,
Got the drummer in the trunk shooting all across the track.
Skittermanders being friendly and the metal so damn heavy,
When I get to kick some face I say I'm $&^%ing ready!

Wint:

"Compliment: Well done on the piloting, Wint! No doubt you have done this numerous times before! Perhaps you can teach a thing or two to us about space-based combat."

Freen:

"Recollection: When we first met, I was designated to prevent him and the other experiments from perishing. Under threat from the Corpse Fleet, if I did not maintain their vitals, my programming would be purged. I was linked into Rush's health when the raid happened and the rest were disconnected."

"Grim Confirmation: None of the others made it. If I were disconnected from Rush, my programming would be purged, and he would not survive for very long. Vice versa, if his vitals failed and he were to die, my programming would be terminated."

"Assurance: In a way, I have grown fond of Rush, and find it not too hard to help him in his life. Utilizing some of the experiments to adjust his adrenaline and combat prowess or capabilities. One thing we discovered is he has that bone blade based on a mutation caused by the experimentation he can call upon if he needs it."

"Statement: Intriguing, a party to attend by our good friend Charli. No strict dress code either, so keeping you calm will be easier." The AI says to its host. In response, the Wrikreechee makes some clicking noises and shakes its head in appeasement.

"Inquisitive Observation: I wonder what she requires us for though? And on such short notice? Perhaps something is wrong."

"Recommendation: Lets go Rush. We can put the ship repair job on hold for now."

"Salutations: Greetings, fellow Starfinders. Confirmation: I have received the paperwork, and understand you with to recruit Rush and myself for your upcoming trek. Acceptance: We will be ready to assist at once. My technical advice to Rush, along with his talent of metal-working, should be able to adequately assist in any damages we may experience during our flight."

The sensory-eye shifts its zoom and angle several times, as if looking over everyone standing nearby them. "Observation: I see most of you are adequately equipped for combat should the situation come to that. Sarcastic Joke: Whatever would you do that for? Starfinders never get into trouble! Ha Ha Ha."

The sensory-eye focuses on the newcomers for a few moments before beginning to hum a robotic yet chipper voice. "Salutations: Greetings! I am LINGSTON and this is my companion. While his officially recognized designation is lost, he will respond to the title of 'Rush'. It is a pleasure to meet you."

The eye cursors up to Rush, who is still slowly chewing his food and not turning away from the newcomers. "Encouragement: They mean you no harm, Rush. You may return to your meal." The wrikreechee turns its head back towards its plate and resumes eating. "Appeal: You will have to forgive him, for he is suffering from traumatic damage caused 1.84 Human-Based years ago."

LINGSTON then seems to zoom in. "Observation: I notice you are members of the Imperial Army. Suffice it to say, we are pleased to be working with individuals who are able to keep the security level of Absalom in peak condition. Compliment: Without your dedicated work, I am certain that Absalom Station would not be functioning at its efficient level." The sensor then seems to zoom out as the focus opens more. "Invitation: Of course, you are more than welcome to take a seat along with Rush and myself."
