Chronicle looks fine. (Did you really create a whole new event code just for this?)

Anyway, I will pass on doing another.

Thanks for GMing the ones I did do!

no RP bonus? =)

Say, we have the tapestry, right? From the tomb? I think we should give that to him! It's a lovely Tulliver heirloom after all! Grease the diplomatic wheels, if you will. (Felt a little wrong taking it in the first place... this will even that out!)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

What are we trying to do here? Get him to stop sending assassins? All cause she stole a chalice, that didn't belong to them in the first place?

Kyra eyes the man dubiously, unsure how this mess of a person has caused so much trouble. Seeing no reason to be subtle about it now, she marches up to him, and sits down across from the man, giving him a disapproving frown.

"You drag Galt behind you like a ball and chain." She remarks. "Petty nobles fighting petty squabbles that no one remembers the reason for."

"And now you're sending assassins after someone, because of a chalice that wasn't even yours to begin with?" She shakes her head. "Laban's long dead. Not having a cup didn't do that. And now, because neither side can let this go, Laban's heir lay dead as well. All because you can't move past any of it."

"The Vessels did not succeed." She adds. "I hope they did not cost you too dearly, else you walk the same road to ruin as Tullivor."

"You started this. Then you can end it." She finally says, earnestly. "Call off your hounds, before you lose even more. Let everyone get on with their lives."

Diplomacy?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

"You reap what you sow." Kyra mutters, clearly not a fan of the half-orc woman.

But she nods at Valeros' words. "We've come this far, let's us be done with it then."

Kyra moves around to try to hem the last assassin in, so she can't continue to shoot her crossbow with impunity.

Double move

Oh, I was just assuming they were shooting me, since my cover (aka Zadim) moved =)

Kyra moves with Zadim, trusting Seelah and her armor to be able to handle themselves for now. She ducks into the mouth of the cave, and slashes at the assassin with her scimitar.

melee vs Striker, bard: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 1 = 22, for 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4 damage.

confirm?: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 1 = 18, for an additional 1d6 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 1 + 2 = 10 damage.

(the extra 2 damage on the crit damage is fire from her flame of the Dawnflower trait)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

OK! that makes things easier, if no spells to cast =)

What is Ulisha doing?

Kyra hurries to get closer to Zadim, though is not so foolhardy as to rush in front of him.

Double move, stopping behind the slayer.

And just to clarify: The items we've recovered were:

  • Part 1: nothing useful
  • Part 2: a suspiciously evil-sounding lantern
  • Part 3: nothing useful
  • Part 4: some techy things we were not sure how they worked
  • Part 5: 3 potions of cure light wounds and 2 alchemist fires

So really, just the 3 potions and two alchemical items in the last bit. =) Can we just assume each of the melee has a potion?

"We should get out of here, is what we should do." Kyra counters.

If moving as fast as possible, does this mean we don't recover spells, et al?

Diplomacy (gather info): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

"Vessels Between?" Kyra asks, frowning.

Hmmm.. or do we know who those are already?

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Kyra too, has no sense of what might be motivating the gnome... though to be fair, few people do know such things!

Still, when negotiating, she has learned it is much better to deal fairly. So assuming no one has any objects, will approach Ezmerlilly, as Seelah seems to find her business preferable to the first name they had.

"Word has reached our ears, that you seek some goods, to maintain sensitive, uh... trade relationships." She begins. "We just so happen to have collected a few substances, that might be of interest to you."

She smiles. "For a fair price, of course."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Kyra studies the dead spiders with a frown.

"The more the better?" She asks, dubiously. "Well, I suppose it can't be too different then some of the surgeries I've watched performed."

She then attempts to recover the adhesive from the spiders as well, in case the stuff from the nest is not enough.

"Is it this bit here?" She mutters, as she tries to cut out the relevant bit, adjusting slightly to the left at Seelah's suggestion.

Heal with aid: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 2 = 16

"No, that can't be it... maybe this part?"

Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

She looks at both bits, once she's done and shrugs. "Huh, I think they're both the right part. Shaved that one a little close, but seems intact."

As to the person to sell to, Kyra has no problems selling to the original buyer. Ulisha having misgivings about it doesn't hold much weight with her. She does not object if the others want to try someone else either, and helps ask about.

Wow, you both roll a 1? =)

Diplomacy (gather info): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Kyra moves up to assist.

Seeing none of the others injured, she instead takes a slash at the arachnid with her scimitar.

melee, bless: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 1 = 21, for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 damage.

confirm: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7, for an additional 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 plus 2 fire damage.

Kyra moves to join the melee-types at the front, stopping part way when she sees a clear line. She uses her sling, and throws a bullet at the spider she has a clear shot at.

sling vs black, bless, firing in to melee: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 1 - 4 = 14, for 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 damage.

They're moving away from us =)

Kyra moves up near Seelah. "Is that normal?" She asks, as the spiders back away. "Perhaps we can pick them off from a safe distance, if they want to stay back there?"

She casts a spell, to help with everyone's aim, however they decide to do it.

Casting Bless, +1 to hit for everyone!

Oh, oops, didn't realize you were mid-update =)

Kyra will gently touch Seelah's shoulder, giving her additional protection from the incoming creatures bites.

Shield of Faith on Seelah, for +2 to her AC

She then pulls out a sling from her belt.

"I guess it would be too much to hope the occupants had wandered off for the afternoon." Kyra mentions, as she points out the spiders barely visible hiding in the webs.

No one has knowledge nature!
only Zadim with a bit of local =0

"Spiders?" Kyra mutters, after reading the note from Ulisha. "Not what I'd have expected, given her past track record for money-making schemes."

Kyra moves forward, not wanting to get too close to the angry kellid woman, and heals the worst of Valeros' wounds before the woman has a chance to compound them further.

Cure Light Wounds on Valeros: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 hp's

Hmm... was gonna step and heal Val, but he moved! =)

Kyra, not wanting to step too close to the kellids, instead says another quick prayer to Sarenrae, and sends a blessing to all her allies, as she draws her scimitar.

Casting Bless, +1 to hit for all!

but consistent!

Kyra moves up behind Seelah, intoning a prayer to the Dawnflower, before touching the woman lightly on the shoulder.

Casting Shield of Faith on Seelah, for a +2 deflection bonus to her AC. (2d6+4 damage vs 13 hp's worries me a little =))

You can only ready a standard action, not a full attack, Otha.

Same here. Appraise: 1d20 ⇒ 17

Kyra shrugs, "None of it is particularly bulky. Just shove it all in a sack, and we can sort it out once we get back to civilization."

Couldn't someone just take a 20, and see if that works? =)

Kyra watches Seelah and Valeros attempt to open the strange metalic pod with a slight frown on her face.

"No, you need to push it that way..." She offers, unhelpfully. "... maybe the other side? ..."

Eventually, she steps in to help, realizing that more bodies are needed, not micro-managing.

Strength Check, aid: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

What?! Physical labor!?

I don't think anyone has Knowledge (nature) =)

"Well, that wasn't too hard." Kyra offers, thoughtfully. "If it is indeed newly covered, its a wonder no one came across it before."

She glances back at others, inviting one of them to do the honors.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Gather Information: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

"Not the friendliest of tourist destinations." Kyra offers, when she reads where they are expected to go next.

"Though if she did indeed locate one of these Numerian crash sites, that could do well to working off her debts, for sure."

Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Kyra shakes her head slightly, as Folloch's spell tries to invade her mind, but easily casts it off.

She continues trying to use her scimitar, moving to flank if possible.

Melee, bless, flank?: 1d20 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 + 2 = 8

Kyra moves forward, scimitar in hand, to confront the false priest.

"You're magic can only be as strong as your faith." She says, as she takes a swipe at the man, hoping to keep him from casting more spells.

Distances and such still puzzle me with no map. If she can reach Folloch in a move (plus her steps from the previous round) then she will attack him... else just move up and threaten him.

melee vs Folloch: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 1 = 23, for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 damage.

Edit:
confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7, for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 damage plus 2 fire damage.

"Worship is a matter of faith, not mind control, wretch!" Kyra calls, unhappy about what the man has done to the townsfolk.

"Let us show you true faith!" She openly intones a prayer to Sarenrae, calling down the Dawnflowers blessing on all of her companions.

Casting Bless. +1 to hit for all

Does the guard have the same 'controlled' look as the villagers? Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

"Careful, the guard might be as much an enthralled victim as the rest of the villagers." She adds, as she draws her scimitar, and takes a step forward.

Ha.. hadn't even noticed that =)

A bit harder to reach 8 successes with 4 folks, then it would be with 6 =)

You get to try three things, Valeros!

Kyra only has 3 trained skills! Though I suppose also a +3 on wis-based ones... hmmm
Zadim is right, variety is the way to go!

Kyra sighs, when it becomes apparent they will have to stick around until the next day. "Cemetery all over again." She mutters.

Still, come the next day, as noon approaches, she is actually looking forward to whatever dog and pony show this Folloch is about to display, curious what his whole spiel will be.

She is not expecting the sudden reversal, as he calls down the crowd to waylay them all!

"Woah, woah!" She says hurriedly, as some of the villagers close on her. "I am no assassin sent to harm anyone!"

She does her best to talk down the crowd in front of her, so she can get past unhindered.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

But that just leads her to the next batch of villagers, eager to do Folloch's bidding. This time she tries a different tack, instead stoking their religious fervor with a few choice phrases to give the idea she too is one of Razmir's faithful, and not the assassin they're looking for.

Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Still, the crowd presses as she tries to get clear of it.

Hmm... heal I'm not sure on... so will try a wis skill

She looks around, trying to spot an opening she can dart through, before they completely close her in!

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Kyra sighs, as her attempt at levity gets taken far too seriously.

"So where might we find this enlightened priest of yours? Folloch was it?" She asks.

After, she will find a quiet corner, and say a quick prayer to cast a spell. Then take a few moments to study the locals nearby for magical auras that might explain their behavior.

Casting detect magic... though she has no knowledge (arcana) or spellcraft, so won't learn much if there is something there... other then the fact it is there =)

"That's Razmir?" Kyra interjects, looking up at the statue.

"I thought he'd be taller..."

=)

"Excuse my ignorance, but who is that depicted in the statue you're building there?" She asks the first villager she comes across, curious.

"Its so... large... for such a small town."

"Is it new?"

Kyra watches the crowd, curious how the nearness of Razmiran has affected the populace.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

She even goes so far as to walk up to one of the villagers and greet them in a friendly fashion.

Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Kyra nods in agreement with Seelah. "I very much doubt this priest will part with the wand, if it has any worth. They are not known for their generosity."

Heh, didn't realize I'd mucked up the code on the attack! Thanks.

Previous AoO's:

The two previous AoO's from attacks
AoO round1: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 2 + 1 = 14, 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
AoO round2: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 1 = 15, 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Both misses I'd guess, since the 16 earlier missed! So all is well!

AoO current: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 2 + 1 = 19, 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Kyra nods at Seelah's words. "Yes, let's go." She agrees, moving slowly across the stream, now that the creature has moved away.

GM, this thing is tiny isn't it? Shouldn't she be provoking every time she tries to stab me?

"It is obvious she does not care about the animal." Kyra says, as everyone seems to ignore the fact the tiny creature is trying to stab her. "Her goal seems to be theft."

"And if you really cared, you would have let it run!" She adds, irritably to Zadim. "So a little help here."

Again, she slashes out with her scimitar at the persistent little creature, trying to move away from it.

Melee, bless: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 1 = 20, [dice]1d6+2]/dcie]

"Tell this thing to stop trying to stab me, and I might consider it." Kyra says.

"Until then, begone pest!"

Melee, bless: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 1 = 16, 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 damage.

Serves you right for attacking me! =)

It's all there now

You skipped Zadim's regular round action, that was just the AoO

Kyra frowns, not recognizing the tiny creature.

Not wanting to risk going into the water, she instead casts a protective spell on Valeros, encouraging him to do so.

Shield of Faith on Valeros (+2 to AC)

Kyra moves away from the strange creature riding the elk, picking her way over the rocky island to the far side.

Unsure what the creature is, she does her best to bolster her allies in case it proves to be aggressive.

moving 10' and casting bless. +1 to hit for everyone

"I do not like being trapped in the middle of this stream." Kyra adds, nervously.

"Can anyone see what it is? It does not appear to be a spirit of any sort, but hard to tell through all this fog."

Can we get to shore easily?

Kyra continues to scan for magical emanations... though it causes her to have some difficulty in the fog, as she's constantly tripping over roots and rocks.

Anything tripping the magic radar?

She looks at the swiftly flowing stream and frowns. "I think I'll stay on this side."
