I started playing MMOs with WoW and have been hooked ever since. At this point I have played EVE, LOTRO, STO, Rift, ESO, DDO, and a couple others I can't think of currently. I have only been playing tabletop games for the last few years, when I started playing Pathfinder with one of the local groups.
I am a member of Full Metal Syndicate of Ozem's Vigil, and really like crafting, exploring and PvE.
My main is going to be Sir Grant Kurok, half-orc warpriest of Shelyn/Brigh. So since most of that isn't going to be in the game any time soon, I am going with dwarf fighter/cleric with weapon and armor crafting. Also picking up paladin stuff as well when that is added. No clue about my Destiny's Twin, maybe alchemist? I should have time to figure that out before they are added.
A hackintosh is when you have a non-apple computer running Mac OS X. Parallels lets you run a Windows virtual machine under Mac OS X, where as a hackintosh lets you build your own computer and have it run the Mac OS. Mine I have set up so it can boot into Windows or Mac, so it is more like a reverse boot camp (Windows primary that can boot into Mac). They can be challenging to get working but there are a few places with guides. I would not recommend it if you aren't very good with computers.

With all the discussions about how to fix ranged combat I think it is much more likely they will switch to space invaders for the combat system.

It is looking like it will take about that long to max out your first crafting tree. You need Crafting 121 for rank 20. If you get all the achievements in a given skill they give:
crafting - (10 different skills)
So if you get 2 crafts to tier 3 and 1 to tier 2 you will have enough crafting achievements. You could do it more efficiently xp wise by getting enough t1 achievements but then you would need quite a bit of other training to get your stats high enough
Training weaponsmithing rank 1 didn't even give me a tier 1 +0 recipe. With the current system if you get every crafting achievement for a skill you still only have enough to get to rank 12. If they want people specializing in a profession I think incrementing crafting achievements will have to be added. So crafting 5 and then 10 more t1+0 items would get you 3 crafting points for example.

You are forgetting the +1 / 10 feet perception DC increase, starting at 0 for something visible. That is why you need to roll 49 billion on perception if you want to see the sun.

Maybe I am reading the wrong part, but that says they don't like to try for more than 6 a minute with the heaviest bows. I find it entirely plausible that a lighter bow could make those speeds.

1 - It is there with enough of a variety for MVP, and I must say I really like the substitution mechanic. Never saw any armor, short bows or spells drop.
So my understanding of what you are saying is give discounts on skills using a primary ability based off your score in that ability? Wouldn't that just make multi-classing better because you would be able to take all the cheap skills to raise your ability scores quickly? Also this sounds a lot like the EVE training skills, which they took out of the game because they weren't fun for new players.
If you haven't seen it already, Nihimon has an excellent collection of all the different guild recruitment pages under wishlists on his account info page. Unfortunately most of them don't have a description on the list so finding the right one takes a bit of work.

You know what that calls for? A kickstarter to delay the kickstarter!

With how important keywords are dynamic tool tips seem almost necessary to me, and not just with feats. It would make getting the class achievements so much easier if you could see what feats you had / qualified for already on the achievement itself.
The Pathfinder equivalent would be Wordcasting, that is an alternate casting system that was added in Ultimate Magic. You choose a shape for the spell and an effect for it to have and at higher levels can mix multiple effects together. I personally prefer it over the standard spellcasting in Pathfinder and would love to see it added to PFO.
Quote: When characters arrive in the River Kingdoms in Pathfinder Online, they do so with little wealth or equipment to their name. A Class Pack will provide the character with a selection of items appropriate to a lower level character of the class selected when the class pack is used. Each pack will include a weapon, a suit of armor (torso, legs, and helmet if applicable), and three or four other items of such as thieves tools, shields, boots, gloves, belts, hats, etc. You may purchase this Add-On multiple times. The class packs at least have a better description. Also does anyone know a way to check which you have purchased already?
I have to agree with the more than 1 question on pages. Q20: Maybe a question selecting which OS you do use to game in addition to choosing only your main os, or have a both option. I plan on playing on windows but I would prefer playing on mac. Q16: I also preferred the old surveys method of having you number them all, instead of just choosing 6. I would include a short description with Influence or Party Formations also. Maybe a question to see if people plan on participating in the alpha when it opens up for EE players, and if they don't why not? The crowdforging questions seem to be linked to primary operating system, is that an oversight or do you just think apple users are more qualified to crowdforge? :P Also it jumps from q25 to q39 then back to q26, on the same crowdforging page.

That is what was said with Kickstarter update #32. I don't think I have seen anything else about them since then.

Maybe it could give companies a way to have players join a password protected channel without having to give out the password. That could work as added security if the discussions are meant to be confidential.
So with escalation cycles and artifact rewards it sounds like you can only claim them if you have enough influence. Will there be multiple tiers of the same artifact giving better bonuses the more influence you can spend, or would it be more of hoping the artifact falls within your companies influence?

Alright, here's the deal. I got started on a fall to darkness style campaign as a pbp game and told some of my local gamers about it. They're now wanting me to run one for them and I'm trying to find a way to start it without having to right too much to start with, particularly with gencon coming up before we start. I had the idea that a module would be a good starting point and that I could then continue with them having fallen, or nearly fallen, for the rest of their diabolic lives. So the pertinent info for my criteria: 1.) Level 4 or less starting (preferably 3 or 4) 2.) Set in an area where opportunities to easily continue the game exist afterwards (looking to make it more political and moralistically grey so areas of the world that encourage that are a plus). 3.) Party size is 4-6 (probably only 4) I've looked through the list of modules but none stand out to me.
The Morphling just started this campaign and at least a few of us who did not get selected are interested in filling out a group and getting a gm for it and a couple of players to fill out the group. Currently the party would be:
The build rules and such wold be up to what ever gm we can find for it, but the three of us were built with a 20pt buy. |
