Bolton returns home late and without any catch. To be honest, his mind wasn't in it, but rather deep in thought about whether or not to leave town, or further where to go if he did. He'd spent his entire life in Rence and always thought about leaving to see the world for something beyond a place his home resides... now he was actually considering it.

...

The following few weeks went about as normal, though Bolton did go over his plans to move on with Saul and Neuman. Saul's reaction was a bit more pleading, as Bolton had an influence with a part of the town that Saul and Neuman didn't have. One of the reasons he valued his opinions so much was because he knew the sway Bolton had. Still, Bolton had made up his mind, and while in no hurry to vacate Rence, he made his preparations over this time.

Firstly, he found a person who would take his lodge off his hands. After everything was said and done, he had 500 gold left, which he invested into getting some better gear for himself and Cami to prepare him for the road. Then he deliberated on where to go, but to be honest he really wanted to head for the capital. He had never been there more than a couple times and even then it was for a short visit and on behalf of Rence... never truly to explore. Now, he had questions, specifically who D.D. was that she was buying land around Rence and supposedly... had sway enough to maneuver both bandits and Huinia's military? If she would be somehow responsible for the loss of economy for so many years to Rence, he wanted to see a chance at justice. If nothing came of it, that would be another thing and fine as well, this was simply a goal to give him direction as he left Rence and made his way to the Northeast.

I'll provide a copy of the system after a character is made that i approve to join. It's a fairly short read, and the important parts aren't too complex to understand.

This is the gaming thread for those interested in taking a peak. You'll notice half our posts are all discussion in how to move the game forward, or clarifying how we are comprehending answers we weren't expecting.

If you were to google automatic bonus progression, this is the first result

Has a +2, his first roll of the game is a 20.
Such is the way of this world.

Nili! What a wonderful thing to see you at the lodge for once and not called out to venture on a mission together. It’s a great thing to be able to relax in the safety of Absalom for once—but what our fellow pathfinders are saying bothers me as well. Our pathfinder society sends us on hard missions, expecting us to do the impossible and break through despite the difficulty involved. If not for their newest recruitment regime I may very well be still making small coins by pointing out flaws in the work of others. I dare say I actually enjoy the thrill of working the dangerous assessments I am now participating in.

Others here are arguing those agents not trained specifically for one task are inadequate to accomplish it, but I beg to differ. My trainer in the lodge could have easily let me focus on honing my spirit to raise my spellcasting power, but instead he let me take on multiple roles but allowing me to also train as an archer. I may not be the best of both worlds, but I hope it’s wrong for me to question that as a Bard and not a Fighter or Ranger or trying to use a bow I have been less useful to my companions.

Though it bias because we have been at the same tables, i can't think back to a time where the scenario has done anything but reasonably challenge everyone. Either it was a flurry of bad luck that put you in that situation or a GM who decided to combine encounters ignorant of the PCs power level.

I know it's not the time and place and i don't post much... and i probably shouldn't... but i really, REALLY, hate anything that invalidates a tactic as a second-hand thing... like a Swashbuckler saying "eeh... no you missed me... also a free attack-- hyah~!" and i feel this might be a good place to get this answered.

So on to my question, since levels aren't a measure of power, as a GM may i treat all parry&riposte or immediate-action counter-spell toting arcanists as three levels higher when determining things like APL?

Also, more on topic: An early entry Mystic Theurge at level 11 has access to 5th level divine/arcane spells whereas an 11th level non-early entry only has 4th level of both. That's a pretty big power difference if you ask me. Rather than finding a shortcut/fineprint means of empowering prestige classes i would rather them be errata to how much power they should actually have based on their difficulty of entry.

It's actually not too bad, just threw the 6 lost into armor FCB instead. The reason i tried to clarify is that i heard of people using feat retraining rules to do something of that sort~ retraining earlier feats after achieving requisites... such as a level 8 stat boost or necessary class features.
