![]() Hi all, I'm really struggling to understand how exactly to go about handing out Chronicle sheets for the group I've just played through. The scenario was #5-08 The Confirmation. We started with a party of 6.
Jerry's character had played a previous scenario, both other players and characters were new to Society Play. So my questions are... Should I give Chronicle Sheets to the two players who have not played before, and don't intend to play again? If yes, how many encounters does Oktavian count as having completed? In terms of combat he only did A1 A Dangerous Path and B4 Undead End. Does B1 A Simple Exercise count as the 3rd encounter he needs (as per Step 3 of Filling Out a Chronicle Sheet)? ![]()
![]() So I realise this is a very general question, but what kind of gear would a level 11 character be expected to have? Wealth by Level suggests, 82,000 gp. My understanding is that PFS is very generous and a figure closer to 90,000 is more realistic? Specifically what bonuses would you expect the following items to have at level 11 in PFS as a martial/melee; Weapons (dual wield or 2h)

![]() The invitation delivered last night was remarkably simple, especially given the importance of the occasion: “Start where it all began. Meet us at the Pig’s Paunch one hour before dawn.” The Pig’s Paunch is a run-down building with a faded sign of a large pig standing on its hind legs, arms folded above a corpulent belly. Inside, the air is thick with the scents of human sweat, stale tobacco, and leftover food. In the center of the room, surrounded by inebriates sleeping off their revelries, a familiar elven man stands high upon top of a large round table. ![]()
![]() Hello all, I am currently a player in a Play by Post (PbP) game here on the Paizo boards since the start of the year, as well as a weekly GM for a few real life friends via Roll20.net who have played together for 2 years. However, I am looking to GM some more! Also interested in starting Pathfinder Society (PFS) play, specifically Core Campaign. Never done any PFS play before, either as a player or GM but would like to get my feet wet! It makes sense to explain my plans: PFS: This will be legit Pathfinder Society characters, with Chronicle sheets and the like. Core Campaign: As I've never GM'd a Play by Post game before, and my knowledge of all the splat books is very sporadic, this will be a Core Campaign. This Paizo blog post explains the rules. PFS Campaign: As you may know PFS works in a very fixed way regarding levelling and when scenarios can be attempted. Every 3 scenarios completed levels you up. This means you can totally plan out a series of interlinked scenarios, creating a sort of campaign of scenarios that work well together. Open Table: We all know that PbP campaigns start with the best of intentions, but eventually people can't keep playing forever. Real life happens, things come up and players have to drop out. As such players will only be expected to commit for a single scenario. At the end of each scenario recruitment will be opened up to cover any empty slots, but ongoing players who gel well will be given preferential placements. I'm thinking of doing a blind "Yes/No" vote for each player by each player, both on current group placements and new group placements, so that the group can really be in charge of who they enjoy playing with. Overall this will help to provide the ongoing campaign feel, without forcing people to commit to an incredibly lengthy campaign. Posting Frequency: I am looking for people who are able to post pretty much every day at least once. If for whatever reason you can't, expect to be either 'quiet' in the scene or have a generic action taken for you in combat. Obviously longer absences should be explained in the Discussion thread. I am based in the UK, so my timezone is GMT. I don't mind players from other timezones of course, but it is worth noting that most of my posting is done around 21:00-00:00 GMT. Player Experience: Ideally I am looking for people who at least know the rules enough to feel comfortable playing. System mastery is not a requirement, and running Core Campaign should help with that. My key requirement is a willingness to roleplay. I'm not interested in players who simply want to tick off scenarios and do nothing but roll dice. PbP has the massive advantage over live play that you can spend time crafting a planned and well put together post. I'm not asking for War and Peace, but I am expecting actual dialogue and in character banter. I'm torn whether people should be allowed to join who have already completed a scenario. On one hand, it sucks that experienced players don't get to give some old scenarios a second chance. On the other, the open campaign means they could easily drop out for the scenarios they have done before, and pick up once we move on to something else. Season 5: Known as The Year of the Demon the campaign structure will be built off using mostly Season 5 scenarios. We will be using the excellent campaign path provided by VanceMadrox. Campaign Path (Season 5):
1st Level: 5-08 The Confirmation 4 The Frozen Fingers of Midnight 13 The Prince of Augustana 2nd Level:
3rd Level
4th Level:
5th Level:
6th Level:
7th Level:

This post has become long enough. Is this something that people would be interested in? Please do let me know! ![]()
![]() Hello Paizo Customer Service, I am not sure if I have the worst of luck, or if the fates conspire against me... however Order 3425492 has not arrived. Payment was sent on the 14th January, and today being the 30th of March that makes 76 days. While obviously deliveries will always be somewhat slow, making their way to England, I thought it worth asking for advice from you guys. This is my 8th month of subscription to the majority of your product lines, and has been the 3rd of which with an issue. Order 3263118 back in August had an incorrect book - subsequently replaced.
Now Order 3425492 hasn't turned up either. I realise that water damage is definitely not your guys fault, and nor are postal delays... but it has got to the point where I am considering cancelling my subscriptions just out of frustration. Not towards you guys mind, Paizo has been nothing but fantastic! It is simply beginning to grate on me having to just hope my orders arrive. Sorry for the rant, again not your guys fault really :) Just wondering if you could see if anything happened to my order (Sent back maybe? Stuck in customs - it's my first shipment with a map..?) Kind regards, Jonathan Hunt ![]()
![]() Hello all, I have never ran OP games before and was wondering if I could have some advice. My players are going to be starting brand new characters.
It seems very confusing knowing when and what to play... the number orders clearly are not meant for sequential play (#5-01 is Tier 1-5 yet #5-02 is Tier 3-7). In addition, I read on the Local Chapter Handout that it recommends starting the with First Steps Trilogy. Is this still the recommendation? It seems very displaced from Mendev and the Worldwound and quite a slow introduction - my players are new to OP but not Pathfinder. So I guess my ultimate question is; Is there a suggested order to play Season 5 scenarios? If not, is there any that follow on or reference others, so that I can avoid any timeline pitfalls. ![]()
![]() Dear Paizo Customer Support, Hope you all had a great New Years! Living in England, UK, I appreciate my subscriptions can take quite a while to get to me. So much so that I wasn't that worried my November subscription order number 3330940 did not arrive very quickly. However, my December order arrived 3390154 - and my November order is still not here! Is there any way to find out what has happened to my order? Has it been lost in the Abyss? :( ![]()
![]() Hi all, I am looking to run Wrath of the Righteous for a single player and was wondering the best method. At the start of the first book you obviously get a few people following along, albeit with injuries and drawbacks that make them fairly useless (Anevia, Aravashnial and Horus). I only have the first book so far, but my understanding is that a number of these NPC 'companions' will be available throughout the entire AP. Could a single PC use just these NPC companions (presumably more at once than normally allowed) to play without having to make a fake party? My player isn't keen on the idea of running multiple characters himself, and I don't want to be roleplaying and controlling the 3 NPCs plus 3 GMPCs to his 1 PC. What is the best method for handling this? And is running just the APs NPCs (in greater number to bring up a full part size) viable in later books? JDH ![]()
![]() I received my order today, number 3263118 and it should have contained the following items; # Advanced Class Guide
The items are also listed as such on the delivery note I have. However, instead of Numeria, Land of Fallen Stars the shipment instead contained a copy of Fires of Creation (Iron Gods 1 of 6). To make matters worse, I already received Fires of Creation back in order 3235502 :( Kind regards, Jonathan |
