Pulled a Carradine in Rovagug's closet.

Good thing I'm a Vrusk. I might get a rash hiding in this bushes for so long.

Male Vrusk TechEx

Still waiting in the bushes.

Male Vrusk TechEx

Once everyone is clear of the area, and far enough away that their movement is long past being audible, Killikil moves out of hiding and begins backwards tracking after them, attempting to cover and hide the immediate area where they entered the forest. That is, of course, unless the craft, spiders, or searchers show up on scene.

Using brush and leaf fall to disquise his presence, Killikil pauses patiently in the brush, laser pistol ready, mimicing his ancient ancestry, his ear listening to his fleeing companions, his eyes observing the crash sight.

Male Vrusk TechEx

< Killikil moves towards the edge of the clearing, along the direction the others are taking. He stops near the path to cover Hanarin, taking cover in the brush nearby. The laser pistol is in hand, setting dialed up to 3 SEUs. >

Hanarin, yes! Others need your assistance onwards, so. Will cover trail and follow, yes.

Male Vrusk TechEx

That should be all the supplies, we didn't have alot.

<Moving to the area where Killikil tracked the rough map into the soil, he begins to hastily rough it and erase it with a leg.>

Hanarin, yes? Please to lead the way, yes? I will move behind, speed is greater than group, no?

Doctor, yes? Would vrusk spider violence threaten colony, yes? Will retreat resume nest protection, so, not pursuit, no?

Is this direction pointing us towards either the starport or equipment pod. Just curious about which direction, NSEW, we are moving. We may not want to have to circle around a wide search area once we leave here to get to where we ultimately decide to go.

Edit. Sorry Doctor, I called to Hanarin as the enforcer, but maybe the geologist might be a better choice, if he has wilderness expreience.

"Huh?...OW!!!" Tekkie squeaked.

Fortunately for everyone that was a 59% roll against 5% chance of battle rage... or squirrel rage given Tekkie has no combat skills to mention!

Doctor. I think Tekkie thought she did give a sample, thus the "Ow." Perhaps she is running from giving a second sample.

<I quickly set the Laser Pistol to 2 charges, and send a bolt into the panel housing the sensor relay board, hoping th fry or sever the power circuitry. Then I rush out of the pod, urging Tekkie to follow.>

Everyone, yes? Grabbing remaining supplies, so. Follow Hanarin, yes? Escape we must. Lead the way, yes?

<I take a moment to gather up the remaining supplies and scoop them into my pack.>

Male Vrusk TechEx

Doctor, yes? No UPF facilities exist in this system, so. We were to build first, so. Starport possible base for starfighters, pirates, others, yes? Caution is warranted, yes?

Male Vrusk TechEx

Since Otto did not wish to take the laser pistol and clip, I will retain that, giving Hanarin the other weapon. Unless someone has a better idea, perhaps we should attempt to use a pistol to silence the beacon.

Tekkie and Otto, yes? If such cannot silence the beacon, should we use force to end the signal, no? Enemy starfighters may track pod to forest. Send force to eliminate survivors, yes? Can pod be destroyed, no?

Male Vrusk TechEx

Bypass Roll 62, with +4CS less the level of the pod computer. Probably a failure unless the system is REALLY basic. I warn the group the beacon is still broadcasting.

Tekkie, yes? Experience with deactivating beacons, no? Cut powerlines possible, yes? Ideas, yes?

<Scratching in the dirt near the pod, I draw a rough outline of the aerial info I gathered from the pod sensors. I illustrate what terrain features I can, if any.>

Doctor and crashkin, yes? Beacon may bring visitors, yes? Here is sensor data. Starport to west, 321 km, so. Equipment pod to northeast 241 km, so. Give 8 hour march, group reach port 10 days slowest pace, no? Equipment pod in 8 days, yes? Rations not last duration. Hunting, foraging make pace slow, so.

Doctor, yes? How shall group proceed, no? Must decide soon, yes?

Male Vrusk TechEx

Actually, I only took the ammo for a solid-projectile weapon, on the off chance I actually get a hold of one at some point. He can get the laser pistol. EDIT: So it's an SEU clip, I still call them solid projectile weapons, alright?

The SEU is the power clip for the laser pistol.

Male Vrusk TechEx

<Turning to address the group>
We shall concede to professional judgement on medical matters, yes? None continue to oppose testing, no?
<Single outer eyelid wink to Tekkie>

<Turning back to Dr. Wizfixt>
Encountered survivors are to be tested, yes? Does Doctor recommend seeking other pods, yes? Or does Doctor seek the starport, no?

Male Vrusk TechEx

Understanding, yes. Many species turn from clutch and hive to lead singular lives.

<Attempting to call everyone together>

Uncertain who is leadership now. Next course of action should be chosen, yes? Is safe to stay with pod, no? Do unknown starfighters pose danger, yes? Should group head to other pods, yes? Seek out unidentified starport, no? Please to entertain group thought on matters.

Clip is active, weapon on safety. May I ask, are you attached to military or corporate security, yes?

Actually, I believe Otto took the laser pistol and clip, though the grenades are available, as is the other machete.
Missed that. I guess I'm stuck with my own gun.

I can give you the pistol I carry. I'm an analyst in the military, not a front line soldier. You want it, you got it, just say the word.

Hanarin, yes? Do you wish to carry the laser pistol? It would perhaps serve better in your skilled hands, yes?

Actually, I believe Otto took the laser pistol and clip, though the grenades are available, as is the other machete.

Male Vrusk TechEx

<As Otto recovers his share of the supplies>

Otto, yes? You have short wave comm gear, yes? While Hanarin secures area, can you scan frequencies, no? Chance possible we pick-up enemy communications, determine info about them.

<Looking to Dr. Wizfixt, while portioning out supplies for him>

Doctor, yes? Scans indicate area is safe from toxic, bio, or radiological threats, no? Maybe CAS scanners indicate possible nearby sources of potable stores.

<Looking to Tekkie as she skirts around to avoid the Doctor.>

Tekkie, yes? While Otto scans waves, can you assess additional pod equipment to salvage, no? Is possible to disable or destroy pod with available components, if necessary, no?

<Heads back into pod, leaving remaining stores outside for distribution.>

Male Vrusk TechEx

<Killikil begans strapping some of the equipment to his coveralls or securing it into his equipment pack. He straps on a machete and one of the laser pistols, taking one of the two power clips.>

Remaining equipment share everyone, yes? Group should go soon. Starfighters may be inbound, yes? Is not any officer amongst us, no?

Remaining inventory listed below, pending Management approval

Male Vrusk TechEx

Tekkie, yes? Grenades can set impact detonation or timer. Toss to target and take cover. Grenade explodes. Doze grenade causes sleep. Tangler is chemical adhesive. Wish you to carry grenade, no?

<Hand a coil of rope and blanket to Dr. Wizfixt, if appropriate>

Male Vrusk TechEx

Are the two survival packs standard as per the Volturnus listing? If so then we would have the following equipment to distribute amongst the group.

Is inventory accurate? Who wishes to assist packing gear?

<If the computer use goes well, Killikil enters the coordinates of any pod landing sites into his chronocom as comm addresses, using the Vrusk phonetic alphabet as names, and the long/lat followed by distrance from this pod as the comm code, closest to furthest alphabetically. If he detects the coordinates of the F class port, he enters it as Tegrat, and any unusual features denoted starting from the opposite end of the phonetic alphabet.>

Compiling pod sensor data records. We should ready pod. Records indicate many pods destroyed by enemy. Fear enemy will hunt down survivors.

Inventory of supplies ready, yes?

Equipment salvaged, yes?

I don't suppose either the sensors or computer are detachable as portable units

Male Vrusk TechEx

<takes a moment away from the pod control systems and computer to approach the doctor>

Pleased providing fluid sample. Will carry spare medkit should no other else wish.

<takes the medkit and puts it in his pack. Heads back to the control section to observe readings results.>

Male Vrusk TechEx

Perhaps one can take beacon. Activate when helpful to rescue.

Male Vrusk TechEx

29 on the Computer Access roll. 18 to Display Information if Access roll is successful.

Understood doctor. I appear unharmed. Attempting recover pod data. Two months was journey. Longer still expect rescue.

Should disable emergency beacon yes? Not want attackers locating pod. Is good we land in dense forest cover.

Male Vrusk TechEx

While talking, I attempt to access the escape pod computer systems, attempting to bring up any information that may have been recorded during the brief flight.

Greetings cadet. Are you familiar with pod type vessel? Where emergency beacon be located?

Male Vrusk TechEx

We should make inventory of available equipment. Fighters may come after pods escaped battle. Not good stay too long.

Also, I am Killikil Knikk, UPF Stellar Navy Systems Analyst. Who commands here?

Male Vrusk TechEx

Once everything stops shaking, in my vision, head, and otherwise, I unstrap myself and try to move towards the front of the pod, to check if we have access to any scanners, readouts, or detachable equipment from the control section.

"Is everyone well? Does anyone know those ships were?"

Killikil Knikk ready to report.
