All,
My situation at work has changed significantly over the past few months, and while it's good for my career, it's been disastrous for my free time. Unfortunately, I have not been able to adequately keep up with this game, and after some thought, I decided to let GM Fang know that I cannot continue playing.

I enjoyed gaming with everyone, and I wish you guys all the best. Good luck!

Khyrn (Haldhin)

I'm fine with Ramos taking the Circlet - most of his debuffs need a better save DC; Khyrn is spending most of his casting time buffing/healing at present, so higher DCs aren't a priority.

I'm fine if Markus takes the spear, but Khyrn will take it if he doesn't.

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

I've thought about the armor and the spear, but neither really fits where I want to go with him. Happy to carry the spear around just to have the magic weapon available for combat, but it's not something he wants to keep.

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

Ramos should take the Circlet of Wisdom +2 IMO.

Khyrn doesn't really want/need any of the other items at the moment.

Khyrn watches apprehensively as Pavo shouts, then relaxes when the image fades back into the wall. Clapping the halfling on the shoulder, Khyrn grins, "Good work, Lucid."

Listening to Markus' question, Khyrn shakes his head. "No idea, but that box was sealed intentionally... Let's be sure what we've got here before we open it."

Khyrn shakes his head as he regains consciousness, and begins wiping away the blood and bile covering his armor. With several muttered curses, he looks around in confusion.

Finally nodding to Ramos, Khyrn says, "Thanks for the support, I just couldn't get into the flow before I went down."

He looks around again, "Where did they go? Were you able to drive them off?"

Got it, wasn't sure.

After hearing the warning about Kullen, Khyrn recommends that everyone stay together, lest the gang begin trying to assault them when split up during the day.

After hearing Taggin's offer, Khyrn looks at his comrades, "I'm thinking the gold would be best, and I don't begrudge Taggin his fee."

Hearing the soft voice, Khyrn sighs, "Well, that sounds fairly ominous. Let's get back to the tomb to see what else it holds."

I have apparently had vastly different experiences from Markus and Lucid, because every game I've played in and DMed has given equal shares out and I've never had (or heard about) a problem.

So not in favor of the giant pot of party gold. Prefer equal shares (taking into account items that people take).

Khyrn would like to find any information he can on Kyuss, Spawn of Kyuss, and the worms. He would first try to look in the library at the temple of Heironeous.

Do you need a roll for that?

After that, he would find Lucid and try to help finding a buyer for the owlbear cub.

Since Sverrir can't post, I imagined him joining the group and giving a rousing speech that would convince every one of us to his course of action. Unfortunately, due to his drunken state and thick accent, none of us understood a word of it. :)

"So Ramos, Pavo, Lucid, and I believe Filge to be unreliable. And as Lucid pointed out, he is fully capable of researching this strange worm."

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

Khyrn listens to Markus, then crosses his arms. In a low voice, he intones, "And lo, there shall be temptation upon your path, but do not stray, for your arm is strong, and your heart is pure, and your purpose shall be to vanquish the evil before you."

He smiles slightly, "One of the earliest refrains we learn as acolytes. Perhaps I am not a man of intellect, and maybe I deserved to be put down and laughed at, but I am not a man to betray my faith or the church. While I can find mercy in my heart to spare his life, I cannot work with him, even if I wanted to. It is a matter of my vows and dedication to my Lord Heironeous."

He looks at Markus, "But that said, you have been most discourteous to the rest of us. He is an evil man who would say and do anything to save his skin, while the rest of us have proven ourselves beside you in battle. You insulted us and questioned our motives - and continue to do so - all to take the side of an admitted undead-loving freak. We gave you respect, but you repaid it in harsh words and unkind accusations. No, Markus, I will not work with him. And I am truly saddened to see you so ready to sacrifice the friendship of those who have proven themselves beside you to stand up for one who will certainly betray you."

Khyrn steps back, "I've had my say. Do what you will."

Looks like we're voting. Khyrn votes no, obviously. :)

Sure, that works.

Khyrn wants to capture Filge, and he would do his best to convince Ramos to spare him.

Regarding Markus, I'm fine with whatever he decides. If he's not having fun, then play something else.

Yes to 20', and yes because of the armor.

I don't think that Khyrn is displaying religious zealotry, unconditional crusading, or acting like a criminal.

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

Let's try Ramos casting one time, then we tag team Filge for a couple more rounds. Ramos has the movement to catch up and Khyrn can make Filge withdraw once without Ramos there. After that, Ramos should be able to charge him if Filge just withdraws.

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

Yes, but a) Khyrn isn't interested in tripping him, and b) he wouldn't have succeeded anyway. :)

That said, if Filge is heading for town, is he using the road? I'll happily concede that Filge can make it out of the observatory, but I was thinking once we reach open space, unless Filge has a speed greater than 30'/round, Khyrn can run to get beside him, forcing him to withdraw, then Ramos can charge him since they both have 30' move. That's at least one attack a round. Would that not work?

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

My roll was bad, but I'm assuming Khyrn would know that much about skeletons.

"But here's the real problem. There are only two types of people who research such things. The first are misguided and ignorant, who don't really understand what they're doing. The second are worse... much worse. Those people respect undead, enjoy controlling them, and they want to understand them, some even want to be like them... even become undead themselves. And that's the problem. I believe Filge here is part of that second group, and that's just something I can't abide."

"So here's where I stand, you tell us the details about why Smenk asked you here, and you get to live, but you - and you alone - leave Diamond Lake right now and never return. These monsters are being destroyed with everything else in this tower."

Nice.

Khyrn stares at the man, "Necromancy can be studied without animating dead bodies. You choose to practice it this way, but that's your decision, it's not the only way you could learn more about your craft."

"And just so you know, your associates are the ones that gave you up. Not sure what kind of deal you had with them, but they're obviously not interested in protecting you or your experiments. How did you find them, anyway? Funny finding Smenk's men freelancing as grave robbers."

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

Khyrn glares at Markus, "Do not twist my words. He had men tear that family from the ground to use in his experiments. Would you feel the same if it was your loved ones he had stolen, and not some poor family of farmers?"

"And no, necromancy isn't the study of life force, Markus. It is the study of how to steal it, destroy it, and twist it into a parody of itself. He has chosen to use his talents to create undead abominations, so whether or not he can heal is a moot point. But maybe we will find out - if we don't like what he has to say, we can let Sverrir hit him a few times and see if he heals himself."

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

Khyrn growls at Markus' words, "Has some spell taken your wits? There is nothing beneficial to be gained from creating undead monstrosities. Nothing!"

Looking at Filge, "The reason we're here is to reclaim the bodies of the family that the half-orc and his band stole for your experiments. And you dare to accuse us of crimes while you practice your dark arts!?"

Back to the rest of the group, "Fah, he's a worthless swine. He can't even give us a good reason for keeping him breathing, like why he's even here in Diamond Lake. Let's just destroy these monsters and take him in, or kill him if he resists. Then we can return the family to their graves."

Khyrn won't be happy about it, but he'll go along with the group's decision. BUT, as part of this parley, the family skeletons get returned to their graves, and Filge has to agree to stop his experiments and leave Diamond Lake forever.
