Male Dwarf Alchemist 4- Grenadier

Sooty chuckles as the enemy finally shows itself. He pulls out a a small test tube which he mixes into a larger flask. He tosses it at the four Sahuagin on the other ship's deck.

Sooty pulls out his mutagen and drinks it in a single draught. He draws his forearm across his beard and grumbles, "By Besmara's black teeth, I just wish whatever is down there would just show itself."

Sooty focuses too much on the deck of the other ship to notice much.

Sooty sighs deeply, "Capt'n, do ya want me to go over there and handle this for these squeamish dandies?"

Sooty snorts at the smell and pulls out two bottles. He downs the first, which causes his mouth to glow. Then he downs the second but spits it back into it's bottle, which he recaps and puts back into it's case on his bandolier. "Bloody plague is likely."

Alchemical Allocation a potion of Remove Sickness. Lasts 10 minutes.

"We are gonna need more than just them two in the dingy Capt'n. If they run into trouble, some people with crossbows and such could keep 'em alive."

Sooty climbs up out of the hold. Looking out across the water he grunts, "Drifter huh? You're right to keep your distance for a bit. See what there is to see." He locates his crossbow and loads it.

As Quillin brings up the ships name again Sooty mutters something about a diseased whore, but he does nod and agree. "I'd rather be raiding ships than villages at this point. The booty is better and easier to sell off."

I have a good Craft: ships which would be good for Bosun and I have a good
Knowledge:Engineering which is important in firing siege engines, so either is fine with me.

Sooty finally breaks his silence as the tour ends, "It'll do, sir. It'll do. I can fix the things that you got wrong while we are underway, and that's somethin'. I'll report to the Capt'n and let him know you wanna us on our way tomorrow."

Sooty follows and inspects each point closely. He grumbles incessantly under his breath, but says nothing out loud until Hake has finished.

Sooty looks at Shaso for a moment with a confused expression, but finally seems to remember. "Right...his mace. I think we left that there. At least I don't remember anyone picking it up. As for his bloody corpse, we wrapped it up in his hammock and committed it to the sea. Seemed the right thing to do."

Sooty grimaces, "Sorry to say, your man was kilt by a wasp. I took a look at him and it was pretty clearly that. No sign of any other mischief, but the question is: Where all these wasps comin' from?"

Sooty shrugs, "If you want me talkin' to the man, I can surely do that. Capt'n things are important." He heads in that direction.

Sooty nods and starts to work, muttering to himself, "I'd want the same."

Sooty looks at the bird for a moment and shrugs. "Guess we figured out everything we could about this place...what about the body?"

Sooty climbs up the rickety ladder, shouldering his way into the small hut. "Let me through ya bunch of idgits, I gotta see!"

Sooty is silent through the climb up the cliff, but once he reaches the top, "Ain't this a wondrous spot. Hake better had paid the man well, because it's seriously lackin' in amenities." He starts working his way around the campsite, taking his time. When Pfarna works his way up the ladder he yells up, "Don' be touching anythin' up there, girlie. I wanna have a look at it."

Sooty rolls his eyes, "The bird's gonna come back and say it sees something or it doesn't see something. Either way we are goin' up this cliff, so get a move on lass. I got more drinking to do a'fore we ship out."

After sleeping off his buzz in the prow of the rowboat, Sooty wearily steps onto the beach and studies the rock face before them. He loads his crossbow with a grappling bolt and ties his rope to it. He fires up to a likely spot to hook onto where the steps begins, trying to snag the rock. Once the hook is well seated, he hands the rope to Pfarna with a smirk. "After you, m'lady."

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 It is within one range increment with the bolt, so that should do it. That should make it a DC 5 to climb.

Sooty drunkenly agrees to accompany the crew to investigate the missing lookout. He nods at Pfarna mentions getting a boat, "I'm not for anymore tramps through the damned jungle, they are as hot and humid as Gozreh's sack."

Sooty will follow behind the group as it passes him, his crossbow sitting over his shoulder. He chews the end of his beard as considers the situation.

Sooty settles in as there seems that talking has broken out in the middle of a potential fight.

Sooty ignores all the confusion and looks around for a good vantage point to shoot pointy things at people and throw bombs, preferably someplace with cover. Hiding behind some crates he checks to make sure his crossbow is loaded and sets it on a crate. He pulls a potion of Protection from Evil and sets that on the crate as well. Finally, he drinks his mutagen, before settling in to wait and see what happens.

Sooty chuckles and moves to follow Quillin, "Ya wasn't even gonna be a snack for that big ol' cat. Anyways, if yer spell would'a worked, then you wouldn't have turned into a big bag of catnip."

"Capt'n, ya let that old coot blackmail us again, I'm gonna start doubting your double dangles." Sooty mentions casually as he empties his mug of rum. He tosses the mug at the nearest building, shattering it.

Sooty sits chuckling and drinking from a bottle of rum, "Let's give 'm a few more minutes to kill any stragglers. They should fly away then."

Sooty chuckles as he mixes up another bomb. This one he lobs over Quinn's head and tries to hit the back of the wasp on her, hoping the wasp's body will protect Quinn from the bomb's blast.

Sooty pokes his head above the bar, looking for a likely place to throw a bomb. He ducks back down and mixes one up, throwing a special reactive agent in the bottle. "Suck on this ya beasties!"

Stink bomb: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6) + 4 = 13 Fire Damage to target wasp
6 fire damage to adjacent wasps

Sooty keeps his peace through the negotiation, but once out the door he turns to Quillin, "I'll be installing that masthead Capt'n, with Quinn's help. Just to be on the safe side, ya see."

"I'm all for drinkin' til my stomach needs a bilge pump, but we need to get that pitcher to Hake. I'd feel better doin' it before we empty the bar."

Sooty nods at the announcement of plunder, but adds sourly, "Let's get this over with and get back to Hake. The ship needs fixin'.

Sooty rubs his eyes for a few moments, but finally recovers. He walks over to the bound halfling, shoves Quillin to the side and punches the halfling square in the nose. "I should have skewered ye with a bolt!" He backs off and allows Quillin to continue his search.

Sooty moves until he is about 15 feet away from the halfling, "Let them sort out that cat, you stay right there."

Same thing, ready action to throw the tanglefoot bag. Here's the roll if he ends up moving: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 (+2 Dex, +1 bracers)

Tanglefootbag:
A tanglefoot bag is a small sack filled with tar, resin, and other sticky substances. When you throw a tanglefoot bag at a creature (as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet), the bag comes apart and goo bursts out, entangling the target and then becoming tough and resilient upon exposure to air. An entangled creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity and must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be glued to the floor, unable to move. Even on a successful save, it can move only at half speed. Huge or larger creatures are unaffected by a tanglefoot bag. A flying creature is not stuck to the floor, but it must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be unable to fly (assuming it uses its wings to fly) and fall to the ground. A tanglefoot bag does not function underwater.

Lol. At first I had Sooty barking out about the panther, but in his head he figured that the other's would worry about the threat if he covered the halfling.

Quill, I think you have not made it clear enough to the melee people what their job REALLY is: To get hit by sharp and pointy things because you are more important than they are.

Sooty pulls a tanglefoot bag off of his bandolier as he approaches the halfling. He prepares to throw it if the little bugger moves. "You stay right there shorty!

Move: Close with the halfling and pull the tanglefoot bag
Standard: Ready to throw if the halfling attempts to move from his spot.
