With a clap of his hands, Khar'Tenet declines in size to a more manageable seven feet. "Marvellous. Although, I'll admit, I was considerably more challenged with this one than with Ib'Thalak's mortal husk.", he regales.

"As much as I find such trivialities unamusing,", he says, his voice clearly suggesting otherwise, "I suggest we go and bask in our glory. And try and share some of our knowledge with the rest of Lastguard, perhaps?"

The Lich Lord was enjoying his summer holiday a bit too long. I apologise. Now I have the image of a seven foot metal skeleton with a Hawaiian shirt and a goblet with a curly straw.

I believe I am still staggered.

Still stunned by the acid, the undead lunges in for a vicious thrust.

Attack, Charge: 1d20 + 35 ⇒ (12) + 35 = 47
Damage: 2d6 + 2d8 + 39 ⇒ (6, 1) + (2, 6) + 39 = 54
Self Damage+Heal from sword: 1d6 - 5 ⇒ (3) - 5 = -2

Ugh. Realised I forgot to mention my actual action.

If I can't do a full-round attack, I'll just to a single one, without the Dimensional Blade.

I'm still here, but work's been insane, so I might be a bit slow to post!

Huh. My bad, then - I thought that if I'm immune to Stunned, I'm immune to staggered. But I was wrong. My bad!

Khar'Tenet's form rises towards the Kaiju. Rising his sword once more, the shadows around the blade thicken. Slashing madly, his laughter begins echoing. "It is easy to rend flesh, beast, but not the magics of this land...", he laughs, as his own magic rends flesh from bone.

I think I have the rest of stats above, but I'll link them if need be!

Khar'Tenet laughs under the shower of acid. The ground withers under his toes as the lifeforce slowly drains from the soil, strengthening the mithral of the undead's bones. "Ah, I have felt this, creature.", he roars out, as he leaps into the air, ready to intercept the kaiju as it approaches the town.
Healing as Swift Action: 10d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 2, 2, 3, 3, 5, 2, 5) + 10 = 41

Khar'Tenet, clearly unhappy to be ignored once more by the towering beast, roars out. The smell of acid rotting bone and metal onto the once ravishing armour of the Ghoul King, he lets out a long, guttural growl of annoyance. "So be it, then, beast. Circumstances allowing, I will carve my many titles into your still beating heart.", he announces in his calm, menacing voice, as his jumpboots carry him into the distance.

Rolls/OoC:

Will run for the longest distance possible with the jumpboots towards the city, or until I reach one field in front of the Kaiju.
Death is never Staggered. *unless zombies are involved.*

Using healing as a Swift Action while jumping for.

Hm. I guess my idea would've worked a lot better in F2F.

In such case, I'd imagine his orders are to stop halfway between the kaiju and the city (as he is coming from there). I think the current distance is ideal, so he'll ready an action to attack the kaiju as it approaches.

Khar'Tenet's sword bursts out in a semi-translucent shape of its form, seemingly blinking in and out of existance. Thrashing wildly, the blade begins carving a bloody path through the kaiju's legs. "Do you feel it?", he asks to nobody in particular, as an echoey, hollow laughter begins emanating from the blood-covered skeleton. "Beckon Ib'Thalak, Paladin, and let the fury of life crash with the fury of death!"

Casting Ironskin sometime before this round, activating armour this round. I'm tempted to try smiting it, but it's probably not a good creature.

As time passes, Khar'Tenet's sword bursts into the ground. Raising one bony claw over his gauntlet, a lone spirit bursts out of the glove. "Now, blademaster. Together, we will avenge our land.", he hisses out, the spirit's ephemereal hand glimmering over the blade. As he clenches his fist, the cacophony of twisting metal echoes in the air as the mithral-clad bones of the undead darken.

Casting Ironskin and Blade Tutor's Spirit. When the Kaiju appears, I will ready an action to activate my armour's Unrighteous ability.

Undead Aasimar Antipaladin 20 | AC 49, touch 29, flat-footed 45; hp 444/444; Fort +38, Ref +22, Will +24; CMB +30; CMD 41; DR 10/Bludgeoning and good

The High King of Elathan slowly descends in the air as the wizard banishes the kaiju. "Your efforts of poetry are duly noted, Warlock.", he laughs out, bringing forth his sword. Glaring at Alara, his eyes flash blue. "Would you be bringing, Ib'Thalak, paladin?", he asks with a curious tone as dark energies begin pulsing in his palm. "It surely helps nobody standing there like a statue.", he adds.

Today's Spells are the same as yesterday's, with the exception of no Daywalker or Greater invisibility, but five Dimensional Blades.

Undead Aasimar Antipaladin 20 | AC 49, touch 29, flat-footed 45; hp 444/444; Fort +38, Ref +22, Will +24; CMB +30; CMD 41; DR 10/Bludgeoning and good

Khar'Tenet's form, unmoved for hours, leaps into action. Gazing at the beast, he shakes his head. "How marvelous. The more mouths our foe has, the more will shriek as we wreak its body asunder." Gripping his sword, his cloak begins fluttering in the calm air. "Let us carve our names into its hearts, shall we?", he laughs out as he waits for the others to arrange.

Basically, Khar would wait for everyone to be made aware, then begin advancing towards the Kaiju in the fastest way he can.

Undead Aasimar Antipaladin 20 | AC 49, touch 29, flat-footed 45; hp 444/444; Fort +38, Ref +22, Will +24; CMB +30; CMD 41; DR 10/Bludgeoning and good

Khar'Tenet's gaze glowers over the shadows of Alpha Team as they leave. "Yes... Slaughter for our cause...", he nods viciously as the images of the kaiju being felled fill his eyes. "Each titanic corpse is one brick in the road to our vengeance.", his malicious skull-mask seeming more grinlike than usual.

------------------------------

"Then they were no use of you.", the Ghoul King laconically states. "If there is one thing to be scouted, and your scouts fail, then they are nothing but fodder.", he reasons. "And if I might add my extensive experience...", he begins saying, theatrically leaning backwards. "We are currently under siege. Let the forces break their will upon our bulwark of wrath and steel, let them tire. And then, when we know where their vitals our, we strike.", he states, running his hand across his sword. "Patience, mortals. Patience."

Undead Aasimar Antipaladin 20 | AC 49, touch 29, flat-footed 45; hp 444/444; Fort +38, Ref +22, Will +24; CMB +30; CMD 41; DR 10/Bludgeoning and good

I don't think I have anything I'd like to add. We have kaijus to kill, and your mortal bodies aren't getting any younger.

Undead Aasimar Antipaladin 20 | AC 49, touch 29, flat-footed 45; hp 444/444; Fort +38, Ref +22, Will +24; CMB +30; CMD 41; DR 10/Bludgeoning and good

Khar'Tenet laughs out, nodding slowly as the warrior leaves to deeds of the flesh. "Paladin, but you needn't defend the morality of your actions to me. If your will is to destroy Ib'Thalak, then do so, and let us be done with it. Your gift is yours to deal with." His head bows down to glare at Alara's face, the tainted one-winged figure on his crown looming over. "Though I will warn you off the path of Sarenrae, for my sake. Failure should have no place in Lastguard."

Got to say, I enjoy our chats.

Undead Aasimar Antipaladin 20 | AC 49, touch 29, flat-footed 45; hp 444/444; Fort +38, Ref +22, Will +24; CMB +30; CMD 41; DR 10/Bludgeoning and good

Shaking his head at Corso, the Ghoul King's tone is almost insulted. "Laws are that which makes a civilisation, Baron Altaire. It is most important that they are upheld to the highest of one's ability, regardless of the consequences. Though, it is always best to be the one making the laws, is it not?"

Khar'Tenet's mouth opens, a grim chuckle coming out of it, as he turns back towards Alara. "Any Asmodean would sooner die in agony than break a vow. And any clever Asmodean would find a way to wiggle out of one." He raises a hand in the air theatrically. "To have a misguided warrior of the light avenging the kingdom of Elathan, is an irony most pleasant to Asmodeus, no doubt." He chuckles once more. "Especially one so pliant to accepting the fact that the end justifies the means, one so eager to accept power over undeath itself."

Undead Aasimar Antipaladin 20 | AC 49, touch 29, flat-footed 45; hp 444/444; Fort +38, Ref +22, Will +24; CMB +30; CMD 41; DR 10/Bludgeoning and good

The Ghoul King's hand tightens around his sword, as a metallic sound creaks from his teeth. A moment later, it relaxes. "So our foes are more like a force of nature or a blight, rather than a cunning enemy...", he speaks a moment later, spite in his voice, before slowly resuming back to his usual acerbic self. "Oh, Lady Chronoa... If I knew Lastguard had such a wise philosopher, I'd have directed my attention here much earlier.", he chuckles.

By the way - I could play the cynical, monologuing villain for ages. But I'm sure we all got kaijus to kill and/or raise. So I for one am looking for another awesome fight, this time with more Tactics!

Undead Aasimar Antipaladin 20 | AC 49, touch 29, flat-footed 45; hp 444/444; Fort +38, Ref +22, Will +24; CMB +30; CMD 41; DR 10/Bludgeoning and good

(1)

Khar'Tenet's hollow laughter echoes in the chamber. "My dear paladin, if and when I fall, it is doubtless that any of you would be long dead.", he arrogantly declares. "As for being used against Lastguard... It would be the same as me challenging you here and now, for you might strike me down in the future. Ours is an alliance of convenience, but an alliance nonetheless." He lets out a breathless sigh, then shrugs dramatically. "But so be it. In a gesture of magnanimity, I will grant you complete control of the undead, paladin.", he says, his skull's grin as wide as always.

(2)
Nodding, the Ghoul King extends a hand forwards. "Indeed. And I might add, rushing in allowed it to recuperate from its wounds as it was banished. Patience is one virtue I possess, and I shall deem to display it more often in the future." He glances once more at the paladin. "Though I must admit, it has been too long since I fought beside a warrior of the light."

(4)

Throwing a glance at the mechanical bird, Khar'Tenet lets out a single chuckle. "An amusing companion, and a decent messenger. But, no. A name and a title must be earned, before or after death. Until then, you may call yourself however you wish, whimsical creature."

(5)

As Alara voices her question, the Ghoul King's laughter echoes once more. "Oh, how time flies...", his empty eyesockets glare towards the sky, turning to Corso. "But why would I? Any who aid me in my vengeance are welcome, regardless of their reasons. Pragmatism conquers all, in the end.", he ends, leaning on his sword.

"Lady Chronoa, if you would excuse my question. How fare the defenses? Have our foes increased in strength? Do they seem to have a leader we can crush under our heel, sending their armies scattering back to whence they came?"

Undead Aasimar Antipaladin 20 | AC 49, touch 29, flat-footed 45; hp 444/444; Fort +38, Ref +22, Will +24; CMB +30; CMD 41; DR 10/Bludgeoning and good

(2)
Khar'Tenet glares over the beautiful scenery with a quiet gaze, nodding in approval. The clocktower in particular strikes his interest, as he studies the overlapping mechanisms. "I admire clockwork...", he states, to anyone willing to listen. "To cast aside all idea of magics, with only the mortal brain as power behind it... It is magnificent in both its cold logic and its defiant nature..."
(3)
The magical screens, too, capture his attention. "Knowledge is power...", he notes, before giving a courtly nod to the tall clockwork. "It is a pleasure to be welcomed in your court, Ruler of Lastguard. To be willingly welcomed is a rare treat for me", he begins speaking in a lower voice. "The vengeful bloodlust of those around me is well tempered by their skill and power.", he notes. "And I am glad to say that they were willing to accept victory by all means.", he gives a glance to the paladin.

Raising a hand at the scrying of the fight, he taps a finger to his chin with the sound of metal scratching on metal. "The carcass that serves me is, sadly, nothing compared to the fury of the live beast.", he notes. "Though, I believe we can call it Winterbreath.", he chuckles grimly. "I find it fitting, especially since it breathes no more."

Nodding slowly to Akoryia, Khar'Tenet's eyes almost flash with a grin. "Indeed. While the burden of a throne was never an issue for one as skilled as I, I have to confess I do find the freedom from... minutie... liberating." With slow, methodical pace, Khar'Tenet moves towards the Bell Tower. "Through all my immense experience, I never seen a Warlock be late. If the two choose to join our... conversation, I am certain that they can appear from thin air at the snap of a finger."

Khar'Tenet's hollow, mocking laughter joins the others, until they stop. "You do indeed show remarkable... spine...", he comments, before nodding at the two paladins greeting each other. "In fact, we decided to... convince it... to switch sides before it reached the city. Truly as feat of diplomacy as it is all of us, working together.", he continues his low chuckle. "Perhaps even I might learn something from you, in such case. At a later date, I suppose. Your mortal shells must rest, after all, and it would be so terrible for me to take advantage of this."

Sending a glance at the skeleton, Khar'Tenet instead chooses to take a glance at the leader, before turning to Alara. "Such a... courteous man.", he hisses. "I am quite exalted that your friend's slave would assist us in finding our way around, wouldn't you say?", his tone dripping zaccarine. "But I digress, and I'm afraid I let my beliefs undermine our... cohesion, flawed as I am. You undoubtedly realise that slavery is a necessity in our situation."

I have to say, I quite enjoy playing Khar'Tenet. But do let me know if teasing gets a bit out of hand.

Khar'Tenet's eyes glare with a flash of annoyance. "It was... an allegorical play on words and reading on recent history...", he spits out, lowering the blade of his sword. "I merely suggested that I, Khar'Tenet, as slayer of hundreds so called... "heroes"... Have more experience than the rest into where your failings are. But alas, education of world history is, while admirable, unnecessary in these uncivilised times..." He greets the newly arrived tiefling with a theatrical nod of appreciation. "We all start from someplace new. I am, in such case, merely someone who has several more lifetimes of experience in swordfighting than you. And I offer to train you, until your mortal flesh is exhausted beyond your limits, and then push those limits." He snaps his teeth. "Do you accept?"

Khar'Tenet strides slowly into the town, the humongous beast behind him marching in tow. As he approaches the gates, he raises his bony claw with an imperious gesture, the blood-dripping monstrosity stopping in its tracks. His face glares at the guards and it's as if his perpetual grin flashes wider. "Worry not, mortals... I have rent its mind and soul away from its body...", he whispers, then a slow, menacing laugh echoes from his chest as he strides into the town, his wispy cloak fluttering behind him. I believe cleanliness is a trait many evil kingdoms foolishly skip on. The kaiju will stay outside unless necessary.

He strides into the middle of the market, staring at the crowd. His gauntleted hand ushers forward, as he inclines his head a quarter of an inch, before hovering two feet off the ground. "Lastguard!", his grave whisper heightens to take the place as if it was a stage. "As I had promised, the gnat has fallen, as is the natural order of all who stand in front of us!", he shouts out, clenching his fist. "Its corpse, lashing against the others, is a testament that they will all crash upon the bastions of our hatred, and will burn forever in the hellfire of our fury!"

Diplomacy to bolster s'more spirits.: 1d20 + 36 ⇒ (3) + 36 = 39 Not as great as last time, sadly.

The lich lord lands, locking his gaze in the direction of a familiar skeleton in the crowd. Pointing an adamantine finger at him, words echo from the skeleton's head. "Come to me, survivor of Gryzmull... I have want for your servitude.", he utters in a long-dead tongue. "You...", he says as the skeleton rushes forwards. "Find me the chief architect of this place, and tell them that Ib'Thalak is at their disposal... You are dismissed, my faithful minion.", he magnanimously squeezes the undead's shoulder.

He marches onto the training troops with a slow, methodical pace, observing the fighters currently resting. "Warriors of Lastguard. Your foe knows no fear or remorse... Your foe's claimed thousands and thousands of lives...", he pauses as he slowly walks forwards. "There is nothing that your foe holds sacred, and all who've stood before it have fallen.", he breathes out in his menacing voice, before raising his sword with a deep laugh. "And if you face him now, he promises to teach you some of his tricks."

Promptly. Long day at work yesterday.

The Grave King's massive clawed hand grips the beautiful statuette. A slow, self-sure laughter echoes from the undead's metal-bound skeleton as his blade plunges into the pool of blood seeping through the kaiju's wounds. "Best stay back, warrior of light.", he turns his skull towards the paladin, tendrils of darkness beginning to spill from the adamantine sword into the pool of blood. "The ground may dislike your kind...", he chuckles, raising his head upwards to gaze at the tendrils enveloping the kaiju. "Do you feel it, Warlock? The pool of pure, hateful malice?", he asks the elf, as the air grows colder once more, but with a different chill entirely.

Pulling out the sword with a swipe, Khar'Tenet glares at the bubbling pool the colour of caked blood. Closing his fist, the statuette is shattered, as dust begins seeping from his claws into the pool below. The kaiju's flesh begins rotting and withering away, turning to ash. The blood begins seeping upwards, towards the very bones it once ebbed around. "Rise, you wretch. Rise to serve your new masters.", he utters with a laugh, before beginning to chant in a long-dead language. The skeleton starts shivering, as the blood seeps into the bones, with droplets the size of oranges falling through the cracks. The chanting from Khar'Tenet continues, before ending on a high note. "We will see soon the fruits of my labour.", he says as he takes a step back towards the kaiju's head.

Indeed, a moment later another shiver from the corpse sends blood and dust flying everywhere, as the skeleton begins raising itself from it's grave with tectonic speed.

I'll get a new alias sorted out tomorrow, and also big kaiju raising post. Because necromancy requires style.

I don't think I get the more fancy undead, like if I used the Create Undead, which makes the intelligent ones. The ones created with Animate Dead are created mindless, and that's the only spell I have for that purpose.

I think that I can raise up to 76 HD of undead with a single cast, and control just as many - or 38 if I use one of the templates I can, such as Bloody Skeleton. And I can control just as many, too.

The Ghoul King's enlarged frame shivers and creaks to a more conspicious size as his magic leaves his body. Raising his bloodied sword to the skies, he lets out a blood-curdling, victorious howl. "Lethal injuries are not a threat to us, Huntmistress. Although, I agree, you have all performed most admirably.", his voice carries over as his skull turns to the tiefling. "They merely hold back those who are capable of withstanding them.", a dark chuckle leaves his throat. "Baron?", the lich turns to the man beginning to remove the kaiju's head. "I wouldn't seek to deprive a skilled warrior from their rightful trophy.", he says, his bony claw reaching into his bag, taking out a beautiful and immaculately crafted statuette of an angel, carved from onyx. "And yet, this beast will be made to serve after its insolence, beyond mortality." He takes a step towards where the kaiju's blood seeps from its injuries, freezing the ground. "To serve the very city it was vying to destroy... Such delicious irony."

I agree with Akoriya on having the kaiju's wounds being described, for the points above.

Now, a question to the rest of the party. I intend to raise the kaiju as an undead minion. Does anyone (except the paladin) object? And if not, should I go for the (bloody) skeleton, a fast zombie (so it can fly), or something else? If anything else, I imagine it'd be good at stalling the other kaijus, or even be used as a beast of burden.

We can still haul it to the city to brag about our victory, but it's a waste of potential to leave it rotting there.

I imagine that different kaijus might have different tactics, as well, so us working on those might be smart. I think the Maze let it regenerate a lot of hit points (which it also wouldn't have lost, alongside my spells, had I not gone nova in the first round.)

The Ghoul King's vicious claw breaks out of the rubble, the dirt between his boney, metallic fingers feeling like home. "Well done, Warlock.", his ghostly whisper carries on the wind, as the bones wrap around the pure white handle of his sword, thrusting it into the kaiju's flank as it attempts to get up. Not content with the grievous wound, his dark laughter carries out as his massive left talon reaches towards the kaiju's skull, gouging a wide track into the beast's eye. "Bow before us, worm!", he roars as his massacre continues as he impales the kaiju's foot with his sword. He looks in the air, and the motionless skull-mask on his face glares at Corso. "Finish it, kaijurider.", he spits out with a tone of amusement in his voice.

No worries! I'll try and keep everything down in the spoiler, so you don't have to miss that many things. After all, we're all loaded with magic to the brim, have several dozen class abilities, and not to mention the spells and Feats.

I am glad I didn't go for a 9th caster, since even now I find myself quite confrounded by choice.

EDIT: And I forgot our paladin's tactical advice with 1d6 damage and +2 to hit. I've added that for this time, though I'm not sure if the GM would want to add that for last round, since if I forgot, Khar'Tenet might've forgotten too.

Respect your buffer even if they're foolishly misguided in their worldview!

As the kaiju steps forward, so does Khar'Tenet. The Lich Lord looks up, grasping his sword, which pulses with dark energies. Lunging underneath the kaiju's feet as Arathadali's rocks fall from above, he flies up on a trail of darkness, the sword rending a long line in the kaiju's scales as he lets out a bone-chilling roar in . "It has been allowed the amusement of life long enough. Kill it.", he states in his echoey voice as he appears from the other side, long cape fluttering in the winds.

Especially when it involves paperwork.

I didn't think I'd have an issue with the antipaladin spell list, but I seem to have miscalculated how good Dimensional Blade is, especially in this situation.

I haven't played above lvl 10 either, bar a couple of one-shots, and I definitely agree that it's a lot of work. But we have quality beatsticks!

The horrid visage of Khar'Tenet appears once more as a flicker, as the Lich Lord flies towards the town with all the speed he can muster. It will come to me... In the end, they all do..., his thoughts carry on as a trail of darkness covers the skies.

Run towards the city - it should put me in 3, so I can probably full attack next round.

Hey guys! Just posting to let you know, I'm without electricity for the next couple of days, so I won't be able to post. I'll try and get something up at least before the big holidays, but I might also be a bit scarce then.

I'd argue that if Bogrun can carry it - he can carry it assembled? As for the reloading, if that's actually an issue - give me some corpses and you can have your very own minions. We're bound to have a few kicking around.

Khar'Tenet slowly floats to the ground, the impervious glare from his skull staring at the new arrivals. "Perhaps I was too hasty with my approach...", he admits after a moment, as the towering skeleton reduces to his more normal size a minute later. "Though, excellently done, Warlock.", he nods at Ara.

Dark energies pulse from the Lich Lord's body, as the scrapes and nicks around his sword arm grow shallower. Kneeling, his hand reaches into the ground. The soil darkens, as if the very life force is sucked out of it. With a terrifying screech from Khar'Tenet, one can see the metal plates on his body dig deeper into the bones. He raises his sword. "Sir Gemalt... Your services are required once more...", he nearly spits out, as a ghost of a man wearing armour decades out of style floats from the ground, before he's unceremoniously grabbed by Khar'Tenet's bony fist and dragged into his gauntlet.

He takes a minute to float towards Hobbs, pointing towards the cannon. Another transparent figure appears, that of a burn-scarred elf. "Siegemaster,", he turns to Hobbs, then points towards the spirit. "Siegemaster. The oath to Elathan goes beyond death. I can bind her spirit to your cannon, but please, settle the banalities amongst yourselves." +5 Greater Magic Siege Engine, feel free to pick whatever you want!

Settling down once more to stare at the new arrivals, Khar'Tenet gives the bird a glance. "It bleeds.", he laconically states. "And it breathes... for now." Waving his cloak, he remains motionless for a minute, before looking at Arathadali. "The blade that strikes from the shadows is the deadliest, is it not?", he states just before the Kaiju appears, as he grows transparent before disappearing entirely.

Rolls/OoC:

"Ah, the cold of the grave...", whispers Khar'Tenet as the feel of the mists barely covers him. He rears his head in the air. "Elathan remembers!", a roar bellows from the undead's chest, as the sword, barely containing itself, bursts in a pillar of ashen-gray. Khar'Tenet's features elongate, as he begins wildly thrashing at the titanic beast in front of him, the loss of his kingdom still warm in his memory as he floats skyward.

Khar'Tenet lands onto the kaiju's head, his footsteps rushing as he grabs a scale to keep himself attached. "Tell me... beast.", he says, as the seething hatred in his sword begins consuming even the Lich Lord's hand. "Do you... fear?", he utters, his gauntleted hand ripping the scale off, the sword following it with a horrid screech a moment after.
