I must say, it is awesome to be high level.

With the kaiju momentarily dispatched, Ara resumes her natural form, and looks back at the others.

"It'll only be gone for ten minutes. In the meantime, I suggest we prepare ourselves for what's yet to come. I'll be back in just a couple of minutes, I just need to grab something." she chants for a few seconds, and she vanishes amidst a swirl of arcane energy.

She's casting Plane Shift.

Elsewhere....:

Ara Plane Shifts into her demiplane, where she grabs her spellbook off a nearby desk, and calls Xavak over. She sighs with resignation, and calls upon the powers of the outer planes, her mouth elongating into a wicked-looking proboscis as she siphons magical energy off of her familiar, who is writhing in pain. She also allows the natural energy of her demiplane, peaceful as it is, to restore the bit of vitality she lost when facing the kaiju. She spends just over two minutes of real time (four minutes in her private world) in her demiplane, preparing herself somewhat to face her foe.

Four minutes: Restoring arcane reservoir points spent Maze-ing the kaiju, Plane Shifting to her demiplane, and buffing herself.
1 minute: doing the following: (all with arcane reservoir, spending a total of 19 reservoir points, then restored by Fiendish Proboscis)
Round 1: Switching Mage's Sword for Greater Teleport (quick study)
Round 2: Switching Prediction of Failure for Greater Angelic Aspect

Just over two minutes later, Arathandali reappears roughly where she left, Teleporting back in place. She looks around at her coworkers, dusting off her robes, "Sorry about that. I didn't get the chance to grab my spellbook earlier. Does anyone have any requests? Oh! I also have this ring that means I can even cast polymorph spells on you." Her appearance is markedly different, though, and she now has a halo and angelic wings, radiating an aura of celestial might.

There's 10 minutes before the kaiju can come back, so we have a lot of time to prepare for its return. Does anyone want a buff while we wait?

Otherwise, it functions as a magic circle against evil and a lesser globe of invulnerability, both with a radius of 20 feet.

Truespeech allows you to speak with any creature that has a language, as though using the tongues spell.

As the kaiju looses a deluge of ice upon the group, Akoriya proves herself the swifter despite being in the clear line of its blast — the infernally-inclined tiefling effortlessly weaving and dodging clear of the frigid stuff with nary more than a few traces of frost on the edge of her cloak to show for the monstrous creature's effort. A satisfied smirk etches across her face.

Improved Evasion is great.

When it vanishes as a result of Arathadali's magic she merely snorts. "I could take a nice nap in ten minutes, you know. I'll keep track of the time unless you have an inherent sense of when it's about to emerge from its timeout; there's only a few spells I strongly desire to enhance myself with, but they don't last long... I can handle casting the bulk of my own, but there is little I can do to assist my fellows in that department." For all the grump in her words, there is also some faint degree of respect.

While Arathadali is gone, Akoriya will consider the spray of ice upon the land with a haughtily contemplative look, before producing a rather simple yet undeniably hellish-looking focus and uttering a few words to cast Freedom of Movement on herself. A moment later and she follows up with Locate Weakness and Gravity Bow

Since Freedom of Movement lasts for 170 minutes and Locate Weakness + Gravity Bow both last 17 minutes, they should still be up by the time this combat is over. Additionally I'll be posting Akoriya's pre-Kaiju emerging from the Maze buffing schedule below.

2nd to last turn before the Kaiju reemerging — Blessing of the Salamander; Fire Resistance won't be that great on this fight, I don't think, but hey, it includes Fast Healing 5 and I have it prepared so I might as well (lasts 17 rounds)

Additionally, I have a question regarding Hunter's Bond; would it be possible to use it with the Kaiju as its targetted enemy prior to the Kaiju emerging from the Maze even though the Kaiju is not visible or even in the same dimension as us? It'd be kind of silly if I actually could, since, well... the kaiju wouldn't be present at the moment she activates it, but hey... it's worth asking if I can give all my allies a +4 Favored Enemy bonus on Attack and Damage rolls for 5 rounds (assuming this kaiju is a Magical Beast, which I believe most of them are.)

If so, she'll do that the same round she casts Bow Spirit. If not, that's cool too, just checking.

She consults her spellbook, and magical energy briefly swirls around her.
Swapping Apport Object for Resist Energy. Anyone who wants it, just mention it- I'll recover the spell before the fight

She looks up from the book, "Who wants protection from the cold? Oh, and you're welcome to keep track of the time if you want. I'm usually pretty good at it, though."

Two minutes and two rounds before it reappears, I'll cast Invisibility, then replenish my arcane reservoir while invisible using fiendish proboscis. Two rounds before it comes back, I'll cast Extended Haste, and the round before it returns, Greater Invisibility using spell slots.

a second cro swoops down from the direction of the mountains. This one seems slightly more battered with age and flies with stiffer more deliberate movememnts. "TEN HUT! Fall in soldierrrs! Behind this cro come two more figures bounding down on Lastguard jumpboots. they are dressed in poorly kept armor and matching tattered red capes.

"Aw comeon Sarge! I stubbed my toe real bad back there." huffs the man wielding a longspear.

"Yeah Sarge. 'sides, looks like these folks took carea that kayju right quick. Mission accomplished!" says the man holding wielding a flail.

"Hold it right therrre, men. Let's hearrr what this here unit has to say. RRReport!" Sarge stands at attention, but only Sarge.

"I temporarily trapped it in an extradimensional maze. It buys us some time, but it won't hold it forever. In fact-" Ara pauses to think for a second- "We have four and a half minutes before it returns and we can deal with it more permanently. I just got us preparation time, nothing more. That's my report, sergeant."

Khar'Tenet slowly floats to the ground, the impervious glare from his skull staring at the new arrivals. "Perhaps I was too hasty with my approach...", he admits after a moment, as the towering skeleton reduces to his more normal size a minute later. "Though, excellently done, Warlock.", he nods at Ara.

Dark energies pulse from the Lich Lord's body, as the scrapes and nicks around his sword arm grow shallower. Kneeling, his hand reaches into the ground. The soil darkens, as if the very life force is sucked out of it. With a terrifying screech from Khar'Tenet, one can see the metal plates on his body dig deeper into the bones. He raises his sword. "Sir Gemalt... Your services are required once more...", he nearly spits out, as a ghost of a man wearing armour decades out of style floats from the ground, before he's unceremoniously grabbed by Khar'Tenet's bony fist and dragged into his gauntlet.

He takes a minute to float towards Hobbs, pointing towards the cannon. Another transparent figure appears, that of a burn-scarred elf. "Siegemaster,", he turns to Hobbs, then points towards the spirit. "Siegemaster. The oath to Elathan goes beyond death. I can bind her spirit to your cannon, but please, settle the banalities amongst yourselves." +5 Greater Magic Siege Engine, feel free to pick whatever you want!

Settling down once more to stare at the new arrivals, Khar'Tenet gives the bird a glance. "It bleeds.", he laconically states. "And it breathes... for now." Waving his cloak, he remains motionless for a minute, before looking at Arathadali. "The blade that strikes from the shadows is the deadliest, is it not?", he states just before the Kaiju appears, as he grows transparent before disappearing entirely.

Thinking for a moment, he then adds "I assume the kaiju will appear in the same place it disappeared from?"

Hobbe repositions the cannon and zeroes it in, aiming for the center mass of where the kaiju *should* reappear.

"Thanks for the help, Khar'tenet. Just you wait till I get my airship up and running. Might need some crew but she'll get my gun wherever we need it to be." he calls to the undead.

Rank and Fyle do not snap to attention with the minimum of effort. Fyle barely stands up straighter and Rank finishes putting his boot back on and meanders forward spear at the not-ready.

"FORRRWARD!!!" - and Sarge flies off towards the northern mountains.

Rank and Fyle bound away after him assisted by their Jumpboots. You hear Rank begin complaining about their pace right from the get go.

The air grows still and tense as you know what approaches.

Rippling folds in space begin to show themselves in the last location of the Kaiju. A few puffs of mist have already begun appearing through them.

Akoriya finishes off her selection of magical enhancements with Bow Spirit; a wisp of curling red smoke and force shaped vaguely like the weapon in her hand which hovers to the side of her, for the moment simply drifting idle in the air without the huntmistress' direction to attack anything.

As the return of the kaiju draws near, Akoriya's anticipation for the battle intensifies to an infectious degree — her allies near her may quite well feel a rush of eager anticipation and battlelust flooding through them, a heady thing seeking to embolden their strikes.

Other than making sure that everyone is healed up as much as possible, I'm not sure there's much more to do with pre-combat buffs.

Alara nods to the scouts, "Thank you kind gentlemen for your efforts. May you be safe in your return journey." Turning to her fellow swordsmen, "Corso, Khar'Tenet, if you two stay within easy earshot (35 feet from me) I can help guide your blades for better efficiency." Not waiting for a response from her undead companion, she once again takes to the air, hovering above the kaiju's previous position.

If you stay within 35' you get +2 to hit and an extra 1d6 precision damage.

Just before the beast is supposed to return, she draws her sword and for a moment shimmers with magical energies. Swift action right before it appears to trigger resist energy (cold) 20 for one minute.

"Oh, here we go again...Ta-ha?"-Cro

Space rips in front of you. Freezing mist jets out in greater abundance than before. Out of the wound in reality comes the lumbering behemoth Kaiju shrouded in a whirl of white. It shows no sign of the wounds it had received prior, both from Hobbes cannon blast and from Corso and Khars blades.
"Yrrrrrm ROAAAAH!"
In addition, visible now are glowing purple stripes down its sides. Those are new.

The icy haze continues to pout out and out of the rip in space as it closes. This is much more mist than was present when the Kaiju disappeared. It rushes out of the closing demiplane like air leaving a balloon. The dense flash freezes the ground and surroundings as it washes over you and fills area.

It fills a 200ft radius area so essentially all of zone 6.

Cold Damage + Glaciation: 8d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 5, 3, 6, 3, 4) = 33 [Save for half]

Glaciation:
This Kaijus utter cold causes your insides begin to freeze. Glaciation is a debuff condition that stacks with itself. You gain 1 stack whenever you take cold damage from this Kaiju. (so unfortunately, immunity to cold is immunity to this too)
at least one stack= –2 penalty on all Reflex saving throws and Dexterity-based skill checks.
at least two stacks= You are Staggered.
Reduce your stacks by 1 every round. (after the initiative count you received it.)
Freedom of Movement negates its effects. Activating a fire-based supernatural ability (not spell) reduces your stacks by 1d4. Creatures with the fire subtype, the heat ability, or any similar ability to shed significant warmth are immune..

Let me know if i rolled those wrong. and as an added bonus, now the Kaijus cold damage ignores the first 30 points of cold resistance. I swear its on the statblock and i'm not just being mean.

The mist washes over you chilling you to the bone and obscuring your sight as per Obscuring Mist filling zone 6. So 20% miss chance for melee attacks and 50% for ranged..

It seems that this mist isn't fading away as fast as before and isn't getting any warmer. A creature that begins its turn within the mist takes 4d6 points of cold damage (no save) at the start of its turn.

Was it still bleeding while in the maze? I mean, time passes for it since it was obviously able to power up during that time. That would be 12 hit points and 1 con bleed per turn! Also, I forgot I have Evasion as long as I have grit. :/ My bad. Will keep that in mind for future encounters.

I'm not sure what the kaiju's AC is, so I don't know how many of those actually hit, but Akoriya has Clustered Shots so all of her damage is added together before DR is applied.

Since Akoriya's longbow is a Lesser Designating weapon, if even one of those arrows hit all of her allies gain a +2 Morale bonus on attack and damage rolls vs. the Kaiju for one round.

Additionally... those were some really bad rolls.

Oh man that took forever. I kept rewriting it over and over. plus the holidays/ work etc.

I wasn't 100% sure of the details of her plan when the game started but I'm pretty satisfied with it.

In retrospect I should have plotted the story beforehand, but I cared more about kaiju combat and testing out the 'distance zones' subsystem at the time.

Fighting her is up to you.

Also sorry for the word dump. In a real campaign the clues would have come with better pacing, but everyone left the game and I've found that I only mirror my players engagement. But I HAD to at least put an end on this so thanks for sticking around.
