Most people wonder why Kelgeah never became a bard instead of a cleric. Her storytelling talents were inspiring, and her intellect was sharp enough for any arcane academy, but she was never interested in the complexities of musical instruments or rigorous arcane theorem. She was more interested in the stories of intrigue, romance, heroism, and bold living. Of course, being taught of Calistria's dogma from an early age probably had a lot to do with it. While she didn't have quite the vengeful streak of the goddess, she certainly enjoyed getting even, and there was definitely something appealing about the stories of due comeuppance and gregarious living that kept her faithful. Part of her lorekeeping gifts actually stemmed from her willingness to experience things firsthand and journey farther than she had before; to say nothing of retribution due those who overstepped their bounds. To some, she almost seemed a child of the goddess herself.
In her childhood, Kelgeah was a boundless ball of energy and sensation, always drifting from place to place and person to person, always meeting new people and experiencing new sensations. As eagerly as she buried her nose in a novel or a scroll, she always leapt at the chance to meet new people, try new things, and share in the experiences of others. While her capricious and open nature might have earned her derision and chiding from some, she found that in Calistria's following, she was right at home. The clergy there was not only accepting of her outgoing charm, but fully encouraging of it. As she grew, she came to respect the teachings of the wasp, and entered the clergy herself by the time she reached adulthood.
Once her body caught up with her bold spirit and sharp intellect, Kelgeah had built quite a reputation as the "friendliest elf" in town. Her name was alternately revered and despised by various figures who stood elsewhere on the moral compass. Her detractors, however, learned very quickly to either accept her nature, or silence their slander, since Kelgeah's responses were often swift; she never needed force, but her methods of payback were always very "educational." Sometimes painful, sometimes humiliating, but always enlightening; such are the lessons Kelgeah teaches, not just in the stories she tells, but the ones she lives.
Now, Kelgeah has turned her ear to new tales. Danger, adventure, riches, and fame are whispered on the wind, and The need for courageous spirits is an irresistable lure. Facing fiends, villains, perils and trials, and finding wealth and celebrity? Oh, the stories that could be told!
Appearance:
Kelgeah stands tall for an elf at 6'2". Her figure is fuller than that of the typical woodland folk, and she keeps herself in good physical shape with her daily training regimen. She keeps her sandy blonde hair somewhat short, but also lets it grow a little wild to reflect her fickle moods. She keeps her studded leather armor in good shape and good fit, and makes sure to keep her long boots and gloves clean. She always has a whip looped at her belt, and a sharper scorpion whip hidden away for more lethal situations. She always seems to stand with confidence and awareness, and her sharp gaze rarely misses the subtleties of day-to-day living. No self-respecting elf goes without a bow, and Kelgeah keeps hers strung on her back, with a quiver of arrows loaded in her wrist sheaths. Overall, her well-geared, well-figured appearance can be offputting to the wrong viewer, intimidating to the meek, or a challenge to the bold; she conveys a wide range of impressions with just her attire and poise, and that's just the way she likes it.
