Hellion watches as the start of the motion begins, and flicks the remainer of the cigarette towards Herc and his goons.

"Show em the goods Six!"

Hellion spring into action as she draws her Unholy blade coding the distance between her and Hercules in a blink raising the flat of the blade and smacking him with it.

fighting: 1d12 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 - 1 = 2
wild: 2d6 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (6, 3) + 1 - 1 = 9
damage(nonlethal): 2d8 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 2) + (1) + 1 = 7

Ready weapon as a free action, leap as my move action(certain it's less that 128yards lmao), attack nonlethally hence the -1. No map incured. Maybe relevant maybe not because she stopped moving afterwards, but hellions leap happens at roughly 86 mph, so that may give a -1 penalty to attackers for the round due to 60mph relative speed, idk your call there honestly not a big deal.

Sorry folks away from my pc(and by proxy my copy of the book to look at combat rules) for the weekend. Have some stuff I need to deal with up away from my residence. Gonna try to download the pdf to my phone, but no guarentees I'll get around to it(and read the rules well enough to act) till Sunday when I get back home.

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

I should probably make the roll to huh, should I have the -4 or is that only for folks who don't have a good view?
Notice: 1d6 - 4 ⇒ (3) - 4 = -1

Out of the 5 PC's, anyone who's in a position to be looking at the bad guys (probably not whoever's driving; like VeeSix and Fortune in the back of the van, looking out; did Hellion just turn her back on the guys (what does "walking offshoot" mean)?, etc. make a Notice-4 roll please...

Offshoot, means too the side, she's walking so that their guns aren't pointed directly at the van but keeping them in her line of sight. tbf I meant offside, but my phone got ahold of the word I guess XD

Hellion - ok, thanks for the clarification.

Fortune - yeah, the MBT for +4 SPP makes no sense at all, probably a typo.

"So, just out of curiosity, how much do you think our stuff is worth? Not that I'm going to pay it..."

no problem, I can understand the confusion especially over pbp.

"Well lets see." She points with her smoke. "You thought it was worth bringing four kitted out men including yourself that is. So that tells me it's worth twenty-grand at the very least. So cut me thirty. Then I give you the goods. I pack up shop, get off this gods forsaken island for good, and we never have to speak again."

Hellion narrows her eyes, "Or, we settle this like they did before the Fish cracked down. Seems I remember a lot of blood and wasted potential back then though, and alot more on my blade than your hands too."

Punctuating the end of the offer with one last exaggerated drag she finishes off walking offshoot of her own van. "Choice is yours Hercules. Deal in money or deal in blood?"

Ok, I'm confused. When you said "some of your goods for some of my goods", I thought "your goods" were the weapons you had stolen, and that "my goods" implied that the gang had something of yours. Just what are you asking of them in exchange for the weapons you stole?

Some of 'your goods' Money or drugs, in exchange for 'my goods' the weapons. Since they aren't currently in their possession they aren't their goods by her reckoning.

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

"Oh you know, arms from our recently evicted 'guests'. You wanna see you better tell your boys and girls to put their toys back down though."

She tuts and takes another drag. "I expected even the gang to remain civil with these kinds of deals."

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Hellion shrugs "Suit yourself." Removing a smoke and lighting one for herself to take a drag while Hercules has his moment of power and offers his proposal.

She offers a smile, "Good to see you managed to find your cajones while I was off getting capped by the Vee's." Pointing vaguely at the group with two fingers she adds, "You ever tell the gang that it was your bungling that caused that to happen? Talk about failing upwards since you got promoted. You plan on letting these fine gentlemen down the same way you let me down there Herc?"

Taking another long drag to let that sink in she flicked the ashes from the end of the cig. "The way I see it, I came here to offer you a deal, some of your goods for some of my goods. Cause last I checked, my goods ain't got your names on em and you know how the old saying goes, 'Finders keepers.'"

Persuasion: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 5

"So what do you say Herc, we got ourselves something we wanna talk about or are you all just gonna keep waving your fancy flashlights at me? Till I get upset and have to shove em where the lights never been?"

Yeah I didn't figure they'd be deadly, but biological stuff could still be well ya know. Personally gonna try to incap these goons myself or that was always the plan at least.

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Leering out the window as they pull up, Hellion looks to the others after they park a decent distance away. "Great Herc.. well let's hope things don't go too sideways. Kind of sucks we're just supposed to incapacitate nowdays." She grabs a pack of smokes from the center console and stuffs em into her jacket. "Keep your eyes sharp, You'll know when to act, get em nice and close."

With that she kills the engine and opens the door, stepping out and eyeing Herc. "Well, gentlemen. A fine evening to meet with you. Hear one of yours got a little handsy with my informant. But I'm willing to let bygones be bygones, and since your here I suspect you're still open to proposals?"

She watches the reactions of those present only taking about half the distance between them up, they'd know some of her powers, but she couldn't deny that it'd be likely that like her, they may have changed since she was in the gang last. If they seem amicable to continuing the deal, she will slowly reach into her coat and pull out the pack of smokes, fetching one out.

"Still like the lights Herc?"

ngl the idea of giving one or a few of them a minor plague mid deal sounds kind of great, but also I think that'd be a warcrime? Does Fortune need Line of Sight to do the debilitating stuff?

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

I don't think we need to take, all of the goods, just one should be enough to show we aren't messing about. Besides not like we're going to actually give them anything

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

"Sure thing Angel." Hellion mobes over to show her the address. "It's an old spot we used to use. Didn't want a dock spot cause they'd be able to call the rest of their buddies pretty easy, plus that's their current turf."

The location pin looks to be a multistoried parking garage behind an old Starmart that was abandoned long before the V'sori came by even. It's got a few exits so that people could scramble if things went horribly south with the feds, but was cloistered off from the skyscrapers and apartments that it'd be difficult to spy anything happening.

"We should head over sooner rather than later."

She looks at the wares, "Now it'd be bad business to have all the goods in one spot incase they make to cross us. So we'll store the bulk of em on p4 with one of us watching over.." She catches herself slipping into old ways.

"Scratch that no need to hide the goods we're gonna be fighting em nomatter what, Six you and Fortune should stay low in the back of the van and be ready to come out swinging. Rashomon, Angel, and I can do the 'negotiating'. But we shouldn't show our muscle too early."

"Sound good?"

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Meet up point(Not our base) was what I thought we'd gone with?

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

I think that's a fair way to handle called vs descriptive hits, sort of what I do in pathfinder/dnd games anyway since called shots are typically either not a thing or not really worth the extra effort.

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

man... really didn't think a simple deliver a message would turn into a brawl, like the nut shot was funny but a whole fist fight?

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

See fortune didn't need any help at all XD

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Not sure but by the sounds of it most of the goons in the gang werem't even powered. Hellion figured Fortune could deliver a message without an overwatch so she wouldn't have gone with even secretly. Also yeah not good vibes when the ganger is hitting on an actual minor lol. Maybe we do just need to kill these guys.

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Once the 'goods' are secured Hellion gives the all clear for Fortune to inform the gang of the meeting spot.

"Be safe kiddo, if you aren't back by the end of the night we'll send the Cavalry."

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Sounds good to me, but... we won't have the goods so we're going in trying to start a fight openly. But otherwise yeah I'm good to go with that plan. Fortune can be our messanger to them, she looks innocent enough, and they'd suspect something if they knew Kat was in on it, so best to wait for her to reveal herself at the 'exchange'.

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Ye didn't know if I should roll stealth and such before being told to or not. I tend to lean towards not rolling if it's not called for, so lemme know if I should.

Shaking her head at the voice in her head and speaking to seemingly nothing she turns planting her hips to lean on the workbench.

"Really, your orders of how to handle the gangs however we see fit so long as we aren't killing anyone? And what if they've got a V'Sori monstrosity chained to the wall and we need actual weapons to kill it? You aren't Dr. Destruction anymore, but you sire kept the adopted absorbtion of everyone elses credit for the work you didn't do."

She grumbles and palms both of the things she took from the crate turning them over in her hands. "Some bullshit fishman. Sound like Samuel with your proverbs..."

After a few moments she sighed and pushed herself off the table and walked back into the main room with the crates, carelessly tossing the items back in.

"New plan, we can get the weapon fitted to the van, but I'm going out for some smokes and recon."

With that said she heads back to the garage where everyone can hear her bike fire up and take off.

Will do some forward scouting of the gang base solo, first from rooftops to remain premium sneak, then as she learns the routine we'll go from there

Zen:
She's relenting begrudingly, trying to play into her pride hindrance, lemme know if it's ever too much. Also I found for want of a nail, but i think the point gets across the same

Shaking her head and blows raspberries at Mono's interruption. "Why am I not surprised. We do all the work and you still come and reap all the stuff. It's not like you're paying us, so what makes you think you get to determine how it's all used?"

She walks over to the crate and hefts out the machine gun and tosses a pair of the fusion grenades into her pockets as well as a single blaster pistol. Taking them all to the garage she sets the machine gun on the workbench for Rashomon to work on later.

"Alright, let's get this bolted on after dialing it down then we can hit the gang house."

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Watching Rashomon deconstruct the weapons Kathrine can't help but feel a small twist in her gut. "Yeah probably wouldn't be awful to use em. But best to leave the guns here, I think the base protections would be a good idea once they're downgraded to less than lethal."

She rubs her thigh remembering where her own gun used to sit, it was a strangely empty place now, but it was probably for the best. "Had a lot of good times didn't we."

Clearing her throat she moved to help Rash, "Not sure about Fin guns myself, but if you just need a second set of eyes and another brain to remember stuff couldn't hurt right? I mean Vsix is probably way better at this stuff though. Better than me."

dont have repair so I don't think I can actually offer any benefit

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

"There will always be a power vacuum Six."

Hellion nods, "It's our job to fill it and show people that the good times are coming back, that we're not gonna be a society ruled by corruptive influences anymore."

Stretching and nodding at the crates, "And we start by making waves and growing into those power vacuums to show we're not gonna let any normal gangers get the better of us. So now that we've deprived them of their newest toys let's get in and crack some heads."

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

"Oh... so none of that then hmm. Well probably best we just make things look fine here and get out then." Hellion says looking to the portal Rashomon made back to base.

"Can deal with the fallout at their hub and go from there."

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Hellion bites her nail at that plan, "Ah yeah that'd be a good idea. How far out from port are we anyhow? Could probably just..."

She pauses as a plan equally brilliant and stupid fills her mind.

"Hey Fortune, how good are you at illusions? We could just ship ourselves directly to the problem. With a somewhat empty crate and then bust out and ahh haha we caught you red-handed."

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

I have 1st hand for Ground shipping manifests used for trucking. Usually they'll have like a code for the product which is serialized by the company shipping/recieving it that matches up to a certain type of product and then a barcode on the product holds that information as well as amy relavent tagged info like weight, location, composition(in the case of like steel or aluminum coils for instance). The driver usually has a physical copy that's handed in to whatever dock is supposed to load/unload them. There's also paperwork that changes hands in the shipping/recieving office attached to said companies, but the specifics there are where my knowledge ends. And again this is for ground shipping not sea-side shipping. But usually there is both an electronic and physical manifest for record keeping purposes that much I know for certain, but it's not stored with the product because in case of loss of unit you'd also lose any proof of having said unit in the first place and thus defeat the point of having a physical manofesto at all. My guess would be the physical has a copy from the port they're sailing from faxed over to wherever it's going to, and also one onboard the ship in a safe storage unit. As well as electronically somewhere(but idk if that would be on ship or back at port)

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Tbf you don't get into 'super strength' until 1d12+4 range

"Doubt they'll keep anything meaningful on an official manifest, but hey worth the shot best to shut it down at the source. Or at least let someone closer know to do so."

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Hellion likewise sticks outside to keep watch, but takes a peek inside.

"Looks like Fish writing which means we should get rid of this stuff, any chance you could open a portal back to base for me and Six to shove em through?"

Trademark weapon Molecular longsword, which looking at it I think i skimped down to normal longsword for budget reasons and will update my powers sheet accordingly, so not monomolecular my bad it's the AP 4 version page 72 of the SWADE Core. Molecular blade was also in the old supers book, will have to check later if it's in the new one or not. But yeah if the locks dealt with then we crack this bad boy open and see what's inside. And hopefully not ubleash the wrath of Ahankhet Mummified lich lord of the 3rd dynasty on Star City XD.

Like I said Hellion could probably just cut through the chain with her monomolecular sword with no issue or much sound other than chain hitting the ground

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

Well isn't too far out of the way to say our vehicle bay comes with a grease gun lol. If that works then Helion can cut the lock and we can see what this bad boy has in it. Though if that fails can always just cut through the side of it.

The seeing from a roof would mean we'd have to wait days for it to get close enough to defeat the, let's hit it before they get to port point of the operation.

But yeah I'd rather we just get on with it cause man this is such a gigantic headache for almost no reason in my opinion.

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

If Rashomon needs to portal to the location to look around, Hellion will go with him. That way he could just tp us both to the side of the boat, she can cling on and lift him up to a window so he could tp inside and then open one to base for the others to join. But until the discussion about portals is settled or at least temporarily settled just sort of waiting on the mode of transportation to uh.. transportate(yes I know that's not a word but it sounded funny)

Female Half-demon, Benny:5/4 |Wounds:0 |Pace: 6 Parry: 8/12(13) RATN: 7 Toughness: 17(6 armor) | Notice:D6

I wouldn't say the discussion is irrelevant to gameplay since Rashomon and this teleport is sort of our vehicle forward to the boat within a reasonable time frame.

Not really got a horse in this exact race, but I think most of us here are adult enough to not play mean or with foul intent, so getting super nitpicky on rules before anything is even a problem might be a bit much.

I also think setting blanket rules on how a power works 'for all people with X power' like all portals are see through takes away something from a player or even yourself as the gm. Like.. let's say we have someone who uses shadow rifts(portals) doesn't make a whole lot of sense that you can peer through what is described as a black void. Or let's say said Shadow wielding villain makes a daring get away and portals away, but we see exactly where they flee to via the portal so Rash just follows and we continue beating their ass ad nauseum until one group fails the roll to follow.

I'd like to think we're all adult enough to, just let people describe/use there powers as is. But if something is done in bad faith or in a way that seems counter to the we're the mostly good guys plot like buzz sawing a person in half(which would be an attack power but could still be flavored as a portal ripping at them) then stop and be like hey not cool let's roll that back a bit, which I understand is a bit more difficult on pbp, but seems more intuitive to me than having long pauses for rule discussions every ten posts.

And hey if anyone wants to do something really whacky like use a portal as a high pressure water gun or space vacuum to get rid of the ticking time bomb or super duper definitely needs to die villain. Then call it a benny, a stunt(using a power as another power so long as it makes sense), and a roll and call it a day maybe, cause slicing interesting, creative, and unusual uses for powers is also kind of lame.
Rule of cool and all that, just don't be an a-hole and play dirty with it.

The last ten(ish) posts have been just trying to move the plot forward countered by 'tire spinning in the mud' rule discussion about powers. If we wanna really bare bones it, 'they work like the book says and for any other edge cases consult the gm and group'.

Sorry if this comes off as rude, I just wanna do the thing instead of talking about how to do the thing.

By that same logic he could just, go through the portal see the ship as he splashes into the water open one back to base no penalty, then one to the ship deck since he saw it also no penalty. So it sort of begs, what's the difference between doing what he's doing and doing the thing anyway, at least when it's not oops you ported into a fight and have to get out in turn order I guess? Rash if you wanna port inside with no penalty and don't mind getting a little wet. Port out to the ocean spit it, come back then take Hellion with you to the water just outside the boat. She'll lift you up to a window and stick to the side so you can get us a portal with no penalty both ways.

Hellion doesn't have much to do in terms of getting ready and no stranger to getting ready to go into a serious high fatigue situation she does her best to rest up and get a decent meal in a few hours before they plan on moving out.
Otherwise she lounges in the main room, jamming out to the music on an old CD player.
