Smog sight is proving to be a pretty legit alternate racial ability so far. I figured it made sense with her background and it synergizes well with a reach build, but I never thought until now about the implications of having a sight advantage on foes.

I was under the impression that 1. The wands were dropped near the edge of the cloud where we could get them easily and 2. I was overruled on trying to go continue the fight. I’m fine waiting outside for the cloud dissipate, but only if I’m not just leaving those wands.

In the 7 rounds of prep, we would absolutely pick up the dropped wands. I don’t see why we wouldn’t.

I just really do not like the idea of getting jumped by two 5d8+_d6 sneak attack searing lights. Do you have another idea for how to prevent that?

I don't like leaving enemies at our back. Kat can see reasonably well in the cloud and has a good fort save vs poison with her antitoxin and has the fortune hex for backup. She can cautiously try to sweep through it while you work on fixing up Dervak.

I should mention since I dont think it's come up before that even if she's attacking into Mara's fog, Kat ignores the concealment from smoke or fog against targets within 5 feet, has 20% miss chance vs targets 10 ft away, and can see twice as far in smoke or fog

I know! I probably will next level tbh. I wanted to get all of her skill stuff in order, plus I wanted to make sure I had all the talents she would have had to be a better detective, like perceptive tracking. I'm actually probably going to be taking a lot of extra investigator talent feats coming up, too

Well then, if resist energy won't work, she'll instead try to see if she can focus down blue

This is with studied combat. She will be dismissing studied strike to bet on getting through the 50% chance to do precision damage, since if she doesn't drop him, she's probably going to go down next turn

Kat was absolutely not expecting to get blasted by three fire rays right off the bat, so blocking even one of them was a miracle that she could not be more thankful for.
