Male Mandolorean Soldier

It is a bit slow.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Probably best if one of us rides with Arana on the bike for support, both fire support & administrative." Karval says in his low tones, not really enjoying splitting a single person off.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

The low hum of the vibro-dagger fills Karvals ears as he slips it from the protective sheathe. It'd been a while since he'd had a clean combat and silence was of the utmost, the blood courses through his veins as he identifies one of the rebel guards and prepares to pounce.

Stealth: 2d12 + 1d8 ⇒ (5, 2) + (5) = 12
Difficulty: 4d8 ⇒ (8, 4, 3, 2) = 17

Keeping low, his legs pump like pistons as he swings the blade in a low arc against his opponent. Grimly determined, the Mandolorean knows that his actions may determine the fate of an entire planet and the beautiful Empress' burgeoning Empire.

Melee: 3d12 + 1d8 ⇒ (4, 7, 8) + (4) = 23
Difficulty: 1d12 + 2d8 ⇒ (6) + (2, 7) = 15

Stealth is 4 failures, 2 threats - 3 Successes & advantage = 1 Failure, 1 Threat.
Melee: is 3 threats & a failure - 6 successes & 2 advantages = 5 Successes & a Threat.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Yeah, sneak up and ambush them is potentially a better option. Since even if it fails, it draws them & other rebels to this point. It might put them on greater alert, however better than failing to lure them away.

(Although this option will be a more prolonged conflict)

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval nods and mounts up ready to intercept the rebels, his manner that of roused lion ready for the hunt. Adjusting the vibro-knife in it's sheathe as he prepares for a potential conflict or at least a diversionary tactic.

"Needs be, we can always draw the patrol away from the turret - if we approach them as if we're not attacking the turret." Karval adds.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Despite the ice-water that flows through his veins, the Mandolorean is getting a hint of apprehension about the silence. Though he trusts the other parties to fulfil their obligations and mission, the tension is rising.

He looks over to Zaleos; "It'll be alright, she'll be fine - she's done this before, many times."

Can Karval use his computer use, to monitor the systems of the rebels & maybe see if there is any potential problems or codes that are brewing? As well as potentially enhancing our own comms. in case of jamming.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

After checking his weapons, ensuring the bikes are working & that the comms are secure - all of which although essential to ensuring the mission is a success, are really just to take his mind off the fact they've sent others to act on their orders. Karval isn't much of a soldier, but more of a free agent. And after all the deaths that've surrounded him when he's taken charge, this time he vows it to be different...

Perception: 1d12 + 1d8 ⇒ (7) + (5) = 12 Success & 2 Advantages
Difficulty: 3d8 ⇒ (3, 2, 7) = 12 3 Failures, 2 Threats
Result So 2 Failures then.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"I'd feel a bit better if we could respond in a more timely manner." Karval growls not wanting to be left to far out of the action, to the detriment of those other squads. "Well at least we can still use the speeders?"

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Infiltration stealthilly, trying to avoid and by-pass the guards - rather than disguises." He leans over to look at Darius' map as they figure the best route into the place.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Damaging the power cables and conduits would be best. I'm sure they'll have some back-up supply, but it'll probably be insufficient to power the lasers." Karval ponders, glad to see old comrades - although still slightly reticent of them especially Yallie.

"Infiltration and demolition is a good idea." he agrees.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval has Know(Outer Rim)/1 & Stealth/2, but would probably not be the best to let him be the primary source of the rolls.

"Probably..." Karval curtly replies to Darius, in his usual gruff manner. Although he does rub his brow to focus himself.

Using his knowledge of the likely seedier sides of the city and where he'd expect good patrol positions or frequented highways, Karval looks at the map pointing out a couple of alleys & places that may be suitable for stealth.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Keeping a tight grip upon the sides of Janitors speeder, the urban Mandolorean isn't excessively used to piloting such a craft. His pale tale whips in the air behind him.

Co-Ord Check: 1d12 + 2d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + (6, 4) + (4) = 18
Difficulty: 3d8 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) = 9

3 Failures, 1 Threat, 2 Successes, 2 Successes & 1 Advantage + 1 Success & Advantage....which may go to a 2 Success & 1 Advantage

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Apologies, this became inactive in my campaign tab & thus I didn't see any updates.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Seems to have slightly done so. Hope your Christmas is going better.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Very much so, I hope the North Americans had a lovely Thanksgiving.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Exactly, with some luck they won't know our destination or point where we left." Karval nods in rough agreement as they work out the plan. His hands skip to the back of his head where he tightens his silvery braid.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Is that best, that Arana stay here? They might try to shoot it down." Karval asks with a touch or concern; "Maybe if you circle over a populated area. But couldn't we ferry ourselves out & put the ship on auto-pilot?"

Male Mandolorean Soldier

I'm sorry for your loss. Thanks for letting us know.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Good idea, I'm sure it's possible." he adds; "We stop momentarily on some roof-top? Or use grav-belts to descend to the ground and then take a vehicle to approach the ground target?" He wonders continuing with the planning.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

He nods happily with Zaleos' informing of the Commander, then looks around the cabin. "Great shooting and piloting, you are truly elite." Then they quickly move onto the next objective.

"The most obvious and destructive one could be to bail out & crash the ship into the defenses - though doing that without being shot out of the air..." he ponders. "A high parabolic arc then even if it does get blown up debris will shower upon the defenders. Of course if they have bunkers, it could be slightly futile. But we could see if Tavoes wishes to co-ordinate a ground effort with our strike?"

"Are there nearby civilian targets, like these cowards like hiding behind?" He goes to check the local map.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval moves over to the computer screen and turns on the scanners, trying to ascertain the location and trajectory of the AA batteries. Knowing his gunnery skill isn't enough to avoid hitting civilian areas nearby, that the dodgy rebels would place near to their batteries.

He calls out over the comms to both Arana and Darius to help them avoid and hit the flak, respectively. Quickly calculating the best vectors to get them away from the immediate area, the Mandolorean is satisfied that they avoided the aerial bombardment and have slowed the rebels air superiority.

Computers for Observation: 1d12 + 2d8 ⇒ (9) + (8, 7) = 24
Difficulty: 3d8 ⇒ (5, 6, 4) = 15
So that's 4 Advantages & 2 Successes, countered by 3 Threats for : 2 Successes & an advantage.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Sorry had a busy weekend & wasn't sure if anyone else was due to be up first.

The ex-gladiator moves to the nearby crowd, his blade held low in his hand and he swings at one of the new rebel soldiers trying to clip the man across the side and put him out of the action - for needless cruelty or death isn't in his nature.

Melee: 3d12 + 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4) + (6) + (3) = 19
Difficulty: 1d8 ⇒ 6

So 6 successes & an advantage countered by a threat.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Apologies, wasn't sure if we got 1 manoeuvre & an action or could use 2 manoeuvres.

So I'll use 1 manoeuvre to draw my knife/sword and another to move and stand between Zaleos & the enemy.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval raises an eyebrow at the rebels insukt, "Stunned, hah, if they can do that - I'll be amazed." He says quietly to himself as he barrels next to Zaleos with a sly look to force user. Flowing with extreme grace he moves towards the shuttle and tries to interpose himself between any shots.

In a single motion he draws his blade ready as they get close to the rebels guarding the shuttle.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Escort us to the ship and no-one gets killed." Karval adds in his gravely tones, not as a threat but a warning. His stance subtly shifts as he moves, taking up a defensive fencers posture as he slips onto the balls of his feet. Fingers twitching slowly as a gunfighter preparing to draw.

Cool: 1d12 + 2d8 ⇒ (2) + (7, 7) = 16 3 Successes, 2 Advantages

Male Mandolorean Soldier

So I'm gonna be away at a music festival from Thursday am until Monday am, I don't believe I'll have any internet access. So feel free to NPC me and use any abilities as necessary. Apologies for the late notice....

Male Mandolorean Soldier

We could always bluff that General Solo has requested a report & break in, that'd throw out escort off the trail.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval nods to the Lambda class shuttle, with a slight nidge of Janitors elbow. 'We don't want too heavy a transport, lest they already have occupants - or a freighter. A shuttle should be straight-forward enough.' he thinks, however he's not too confident of his own piloting skill.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval falls in behind, intently listening in on any conversation - so that he can ascertain when the base personnel find out about the broken bay door.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

How about a computer hack/open network gate*? So we could pass it off to someone else - with more time.

*Or something technical types might know so we can remotely hack the system - if needs be.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Anyone notice any vehicles on the roof? Speeders, rather than full fighters?" Karaval muses, looking at the plans with Zaleos. He slowly starts walking, to avoid loitering around suspiciously.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"They won't be gone long, a vent or side door sounds good." Karval adds, slightly abashed that his dishonesty seemingly worked.....for the moment. "Maybe get to the roof & get a transport to pick us up?"

Male Mandolorean Soldier

He pauses trying to keep a straight face.

Deception: 3d8 ⇒ (1, 6, 4) = 11
Difficulty: 1d12 + 1d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (12) + (1) + (5, 5) = 23
Yep, Karval isn't the best liar - he's too honourable :P Despair & 2 Setbacks. 1 Success & 1 Advantage

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval walks firmly and authoritatively to the patrol; "Straighten up soldier." he barks in a gruff voice. His eyes inspecting the man, trying to put on the air of a sergeant, he checks the speaker for any untidiness in his uniform. "This place is a mess. Don't you know that General Solo is coming for an inspection?"

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Turning to Zaleos, a grim look on his face Karval replies; "Do it, I'll try and draw some of the attention away from you..."

He moves in the opposite direction to the noble and towards a number of crates (or oxygen cylinders) stacked up. Trying to find if any are haphazardly stacked, if there are - he'll 'accidentally' stagger into them. (Maybe even appearing slightly drunk - if those guys that we ambushed did?)

Probably some sort of luck./ bluff roll, to try and distract from Zaleos handiwork?

Male Mandolorean Soldier

[smaller]"We do want any collateral damage, that's why we're doing this - rather than an orbital bombardment." he says softly under his breath, before adding. "My mechanical expertise is limited to the human body or computers and minimal at that."

However he does keep an air of militaristic nonchalance whilst looking around carefully, softly conversing with the others.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"....but they might do." Karval hoarsely whispers, his mind a whirl over the best way to shut down the hanger without a huge loss of life. Clearly disabling either the ships or the take-off area would be best - removing the pilots could be a possibility, but quite hazardous to remove all of them. He glances around to see if there's a pilots lounge, where they could all be hobbled.

Knowledge (Education): 3d8 ⇒ (5, 2, 7) = 14
Difficulty: 3d8 ⇒ (8, 6, 3) = 17

2Success, 2 advantages & 2 Failures, 2 Threats. So a blank

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Good idea, but lets not keep too far apart. Or encroach obviously near very restricted areas. This talk of Generals and Admirals is a trifle worrying." he adds with some understatement, whilst his eyes flit around the area observing shadows and patrol routes.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Thanks, Boost: 1d6 ⇒ 4 So that's a success & an advantage, which cancels the failure - Giving a Truimph & an Advantage.

"You guys do a good job, I'll buy you a drink next time I see you in the cantina." Karval adds subtly.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

So for Karval the threat cancels the advantage? And the Triumph Vs. the success? - Does that mean he succeeds - or is it a blank?

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Walking boldly upto the guards with Zaleos at his side, Karval lets the guards scan his helmet for identification. "Don't worry, you're not missing much tonight. The town is fairly dull, what with the tension and all. Maybe once it all settles down." He tries to reassure the sentinels that they aren't missing out on anything and distract them from there work with the narrative - whilst putting the thought in their head out finishing work.

He glances to Zaleos hoping he can add to the deception, from the initial start.

Charm: 2d8 + 1d12 ⇒ (6, 1) + (12) = 19Advantage, Blank & a Triumph
Difficulties: 1d8 + 1d12 ⇒ (5) + (4) = 9 So Threat & Failure

Male Mandolorean Soldier

I am. If we go in two groups only separated by a couple of minutes, after checking with Janitor that we've done up our disguises in a military manner.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Gah, I was suggesting Darius & Aranna go off together. Whilst Janitor joins Karval & Zaleos. But this was sort of meant to just push the discussion, than drawing any lines in sand.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Good idea Darius. Although we should not separate too far - if questioned the bar closed or there was a disturbance so we left." He looks around the group; "Hence, Zaleos and Janitor do you want to split up with me? Whilst Janitor and Arana go in as a pair. So each of us has a 'wingman' - which shouldn't be too unusual."

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"True, check if they have other identification or key-cards and lets be off." Karval nods in agreement with Zaleos assessment, whilst he quickly slips the uniform over his clothes.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Yep, hopefully. If you get their boots too." he looks down at the floor of the alley with some disdain. "I wouldn't want to walk down this with bare feet and a ringing head."

After a quick check of them for alcohol to pour upon the victims - who've just left the tavern - to hamper more of their credibility. "So we find another alley and get changed quickly...?"

I'm back, I'll just catch up and post :D

(there was no wi-fi at the maison)

Male Mandolorean Soldier

SHuffling back on the balls of his feet, Karval focuses his mind on the job at hand. His thick hand slips to the hilt of his blade and reverses the grip, thus ensuring the pommel be the weapon of choice.

Cool: 1d12 + 2d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + (1, 1) + (2, 4) = 10
Which is 2 successes & an advantage! (from those rolls :O)

Male Mandolorean Soldier

From the folds of the shadows, amongst the detritus of the city - that's meandered it's way into the alleyway, Karval thinks. 'Well there's the final two pilots, we'd need... but is this the most opportune time? No time like the present...since the Empress is relying on us.'

He motions across the way to the others, "We go?" His eyes seem to say.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

The lithe form of the gladiator keeps to the shadows. Their ephemeral form clings to him and the folds of his billowing silken shirt.

Agility & Stealth + Boost: 2d12 + 1d8 + 3d6 ⇒ (9, 11) + (7) + (3, 3, 4) = 37
Difficulty: 1d12 + 1d8 ⇒ (8) + (1) = 9
So that's: Success+Adv, 2Adv, Sucess+Adv, 2Success, Success+Adv _ Failure & Threat + Blank. Hence, $ Successes & 4 Advantages to help Zaleos Succeed

Having spend many years in his Hutt run homeworld, Karval is used to hiding in the shadows of alleyways and helps his more naive friend Zaleos to slide away - whilst letting Darius hide the evidence of the scuffle.
