About Karlak the Blooded


Karlak grew up in the wilds of the Stolen Lands with his mother in a small cottage miles away from civilization. For years, she was his only interaction with humanity, and so he lived a life sheltered of his obviously demonic appearance. However, when the tiefling was approaching his twelfth year, his mother grew ill, and needed him to go to town to purchase ingredients for medicine. The mockery, bullying, and outright hostility he received was eye opening for the boy, but he bared it for his mother, whom he loved. From this point on in his life, Karlak would make a run or two to town for supplies, enduring the taunts because his mother told him he would be severely punished if he hurt anyone. One year, bandits were particularly active in the area. Karlak was away trading for a new scythe to take in the harvest, and when he returned, the now young man returned to find two of them bragging about having bedded and then cut up the woman who lived in the cottage. He blacked out, and it seemed only like moments before the tiefling awoke completely covered in blood, with body parts strewn across the cabin, the walls painted a horrifying crimson. Karlak couldn't remember what happened, but even in his simple mind, he could figure it out.
And it was all the bandits' fault...
