So I just picked up my copy of Plunder & Peril today and while I was reading through it a thought struck me. Is it possible for players to resurrect Jemma Redclaw?

Having been calcified her body is relatively well preserved, provided the party doesn't deal that much damage to it and defeat the Incutilis lord quickly enough there doesn't seem to be any reason to say that she can't be raised.

A book where the main character is a dwarf? I'm all for this!

awakened Raccoon plus anthropomorphic animal followed by permanency and levels in gunslinger

Barring that Tanuki

Dear James,

How would an inquisitor of Achaekek differ from a more traditional inquisitor? What does being an inquisitor for the god of murder really entail? Particularly for one within the ranks of the Red Mantis Assassins?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

honestly I think St. Cuthbert's Gorlarion equivalent would be Abadar considering they're both the primary deities associated with law

Really looking forward to coming back to Alaeron and Numeria, CotFS was the first book I read in the series and I've been waiting to come back to these characters for a while. hopefully we'll see Alaeron run into Rodrick (and Hyrm) again at some point

James,

Curious but if a summoner were to ascend to godhood through use of the Starstone or different means, how would that effect their eidolon? would they ascend along with their summoner, merge together into one being, or be something more like a herald?

Haven't seen a new issue of the Pathfinder comics in a while, is that still going to continue or did it get cancelled (please god no)

on that note are there any plans to bring in the rest of the iconics into the comics? I like Valeros and company but I wouldn't mind seeing some of the others pop in and/or have an arc centered around them, Sajan, Feiya, and Alaharzra to name a few. For that matter are we ever going to see any novels dealing with the Iconics?

Honestly I think that Samurai and Winter Witch would be a better fit for Mulan and Elsa respectively. Gonna say Titan Mauler (Barbarian) for Herc, Ranger seems fine for Merida but maybe look for an archtype focusing on archery or survival like a battle scout. think Kristoff would be better off as a ranger personally though I could either way, Pocahontas could easily be a nature oracle if you want to have an easy way to explain Grandmother Willow

Other character options from different Disney movies are

Quasimodo: tiefling/half-orc acrobat
Phoebus: taldan human paladin
Esmeralda: varisian street performer
Aladdin: kelishite acrobat (possibly summoner)
Kenai: kellid bear shaman (druid)
Jim Hawkins: cad

James,

What are the chances of us seeing anything with the Ardoc Family in the imminent future, be it in a novel or adventure? Would love to see a book revolving around them, for that matter the Gray Maidens and/or Eagle Knights too. The former keep being mentioned here and there between adventures and the chronicle books (plus one short fiction) and while the latter have never really amounted to much and have always just been more or less there.

Also can we expect to see Westcrown or Numeria as a major setting in a novel anytime soon?

James,

What are the chances of us getting a novel focusing on the/a Red Mantis any time soon, like Cayden Cailean it seems like for being such a major player/faction they generally seem to be removed from the world at large outside of being minions in a few adventure paths.

It's a Christmas miracle! I've been waiting for this character be expanded on since this site first started exploring the origins of its iconics. Of course now I'm only more curious to learn more about these two, hope they pop up in the comics at some point!

James

This is something that has been nagging at me for a while but given the multitude of religious practices running around the Mwangi Expanse and the fact that some natives consider summoners akin to devil worship is it possible that anyone might have developed a similar practice to the Sarkosian God Callers centered around worshiping their eidolons?

AHEM. For the record, I gave the character outright to Dave and said he could do whatever he wanted with Jelani.

At the time I figured this meant he'd kill her off in King of Chaos, but I have to say I like the send-off he actually came up with a lot better.

(poor Radovan. forever. poor Radovan)

Of course you know now I'm going to have to go back and read the aforemention web tale Dave mentioned to catch up on Jelani's first appearance. That was gracious of you to give him the character, though I gotta say I'm glad he didn't kill her off. Her ending was far more enjoyable the way it wound up playing out (poor Radovan)

On a seperate note, enjoyed your work in Nightglass. Look forward to reading more of your work as it comes out =3

Thanks for the kind words.

Alase is a character created by Wes Schneider for Lost Kingdoms, and whom he graciously allowed me to borrow. I can't say I haven't had ideas for further stories with her, but I'd do them only with his approval.

Ditto for Jelani. The sorceress is Liane Merciel's character, and she let me borrow her for the novel. If you haven't yet, check out Liane's "Certainty" short story, which introduces Jelani and Ederras, who also gets a mention in Liane's novel Nightglass.

I did not realise that, have yet to pick up Lost Kingdoms and I've been slowly but steadily making my way through all the web tales here so I haven't gotten around to Certainty yet. Though now I'm probably going to have to go back and re-read Nightglass once I finish Certainty.

In either case that was really nice of them both =3

Me, too. Their names are Azra and Malena, and they've been waiting patiently in my idea folder since I turned in Prince of Wolves. I would love to revisit them one day, but the stars have not yet aligned.

One day...

I want to read this, if only because I would love to see a spinoff of one of your series and that I love your work. Would really like to see what you have planned for Alase and Jelani as well, if anything at all. =3

And Distant Worlds!

As far as classes go...alchemists.

Maybe Norret can run free? Him and his oracle/synthesist (forget which) brother could be pretty interesting, and well, no one can say those stories haven't been very well received.

Orlin is an Oracle with the haunted curse and either the bone or ancestor mystery (I think)

I would love to see a story where the main character is a summoner personally, haven't really seen many of them outside of King of Chaos and Faithful Servants. For that matter I'd really like to see a Numerian magus to see how they differ from the more traditional magi, think that witches and gunslingers could both use a little more exposure too for that matter. Going off prestige classes I'd really love to see something with the Red Mantis Assassins and Hellknights.

Personally I would enjoy seeing something take place in Numeria, probably one of the most interesting nations that hasn't really been delved into. Same goes for the Mwangi Expanse, another place that gets mentioned pretty regularly but never really explored in any of the novels. Would be fun to see how things work in Andoran, got that distinctive 13 colonies feel to it that could be fun from what I've read.

As far as races go, where to begin? Aasimar, androids, dwarves, kitsune, and, perhaps most importantly, kobolds. Actually haven't seen anything dealing with Cayden Cailean or his ilk so I'd really like to see that change in the near future, just seems like he hasn't been very active compared to all the other good aligned deities which is a real shame since he has always struck me as being one of the most interesting gods.

While I always love the traditional fantasy stuff I've discovered over the past few years that I've really got a thing for the noir genre thanks to a culmination of comics, movies, games, and novels.

James,

as blood of the moon is getting ready to come out is there anything you could tell us about the different types of Skinwalkers?

Also would I be correct to assume that the Skinwalkers are Golarion's answer to the Shifters in Eberron?

This actually sounds pretty badass

this is something I'd be interested in

haven't played a magus yet and since they seem to have a few running around Numeria seems like as good a place to play one as any. Race-wise I need to think, leaning towards Kellid but I've been playing a lot of humans lately so between maybe an android, dwarf, or half-orc since I need more of the latter two and I've never played the former. Plus can still rock the Kellid vibe with a half-orc.

James

If you were to make the Gray Maidens into a prestige class how would you likely handle going about what abilities they would get and what would they be?

I would say ninja, maybe give him a few levels in alchemist to accomodate for tanglefoot bags and the necessary alchemical items.

whoops, was not aware they couldn't interbreed ^^;;

James,

what would the offspring of a Tiefling and Dhampir be?

what sort of treasure could people expect to find in a Sky Citadel, particularly the one in the Worldwound (or is that going to be shown in WotR)?

What's the next significant deity you plan on focusing on in the next AP?

Are there any plans for Cayden Cailean in the imminent future? seems like his faith doesn't really get that much exposure despite being one of the core deities.

are we ever going to see Eando Kline again, curious to see what he's been up to since leaving the Pathfinder Society.

honestly this item strikes me as something that would make a good rod-like weapon like the rod of lordly might and rod of dwarven might.

Grats =3

James,

curious, what character/class would you use for the Wrath of the Righteous AP?

Are there any plans to use any of the Paizo staff characters in any upcoming novels, comics, or AP's?

On that token who's in charge of handling the Pathfinder comic, as much as I'm enjoying seeing the antics of Valeros and company I kinda do want to see what's going on with the rest of the iconics.

James,

Is it possible for a cleric to worship more than one deity at a time? I'm thinking about making a cleric who worships Besmara, Calistria, and Cayden Cailean; would doing so require me to put one deity above the other two as the primary or would the concept equate more or less to the Godclaw faith the Hellknight sect uses and the Ebon Cult?

Okay then... since you twisted my arm... my top five favorite dinosaurs, in order from favorite at #1 and counting down:

1) Tyrannosaurus
2) Deinonychus
3) Velociraptor
4) Dimorphodon (not really a dinosaur, but meh)
5) Spinosaurus

In the end, though, anything theropod related is usually a good call.

Don't let technicality get in the way, they're all dinosaurs!

are we ever going to see the Paizo staff NPC's make an appearance in any of the comics, novels, adventures, etc.?

Speaking of the comics, are they going to revolve around Seoni and company or are the other iconics going to take take over at some point?

Lastly what is your advice for building a homebrew campaign world?

Ecology of winter wolves says that offspring between humans and winter wolves always results in winter wolf children though in the case of humanoid mothers pregnancy is a more difficult ordeal for them if they're outside the Howling District. Honestly I do like the idea of any children conceived being faux werewolves with the winter wolf's immunity to cold and breath weapon but a human siring a winter wolf child does make for interesting role playing and character developement since it fits in real well with the more magical fundamentals of the game and basic folklore.

Just finished reading about the Winter Wolves in The Shackled Hut, outside of the two towns/cities listed in the book are there any other settlements other than the Redtooth and Whitethrone where Winter Wolves can shapeshift? For that matter given their level of intelligence is it too far fetch to think that there might be communities of winter wolves that have formed their own towns or cities, seems like they like to emmulate humanoids to a degree and it wouldn't necessarily be that difficult for the ones that could shapeshift.

are there any plans to introduce new continents at some point in the future or is the world pretty much set by this point?

Was reading about Winter Wolves in the lastest installment of Reign of Winter, I know the article says that all children born from a inter-species pairing with winter wolves would in effect be winter wolf pups but given the magical nature of wolves of Irrisen and their ability to shapechange in certain places what would the likelihood of a pairing resulting in a hybrid child more like a lycanthrope?

are there any human ethnic groups/cultures based off the Scottish, Irish, Australian, Spanish, and/or Native American people?

Do kobolds have a patron deity? If so who is it and will we be learning more about them in Kobolds of Golerion? If not who is their primary deity out of the core pantheon?

So our group recently started playing Curse of the Crimson Throne, presently we're on Seven Days to the Grave and a few of us recently decided we want our characters to have a name for their group. So far we haven't been able to come up with anything, in part because nothing we've come up with really catches our appeal and that only two of us are really making the attempt to think of anything. I would like for this group to have a decent name for a change instead of regulating to some lame, idiotic lazy attempt at a name like what normally tends to happen whenever we try something like this. Can anyone give me some good suggestions for a group name or at least a theme that we could follow or model a motif from?

Our group currently consist of the following...

human cleric of Cayden Cailean
dwarven stonelord of Torag
half-orc falconer of Gorum
human razmerian priest of Sheyln (don't ask)
gomish grenader of Cayden Cailean (recent convert)

Occassionally we have between one to two more characters but this is our primary group.

Is there a NPC/villain from any of the existing AP's that you wouldn't mind seeing appear in a novel or future adventure as a significant character/threat?

Hopefully this starts up again, if not it can't be helped.

I asked James [Jacob] about it once and he didn't seem all to enthused about the idea, reading some of the comments in this thread though I'm glad that we might get to see a few novels based off adventure path's.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing tie-ins to the following AP's.

Rise of the Runelords
Curse of the Crimson Throne
Carrion Crown
Jade Regent
Skull and Shackles

Hey James,

Was wondering if Amaya Kaijitsu is going to have any significant role in any upcoming adventure path's/adventures given the rest of her family has at one point or another?

Are kobolds any different in the Mwangi Expanse and the Shackles than they are on the rest of Golarion?

Will kobolds ever claw their way out of obscurity and get their own land/kingdom/empire like the orcs of Belkzen? Likewise where would the ideal place for them be and what would it be like?

Can Kitsune and Ratfolk contract lycanthropy? Got a couple of them in my Crown of the Kobold King adventure and I suspect that Jeva is probably going to maul the party a bit by the end of the adventure (they didn't get the silver daggers). Given that Kitsune are shapechangers I'm not entirely sure how lycanthropy would affect them if at all, was thinking that it would adapt accomodate for the Ratfolk and become a wererat instead.

James,

Given House Ardoc's preference for constructing golems and distaste of non magic users where would Gunslingers and Alchemist fit in their family/ranks?

1) Numeria
2) Alkenstar
3) would like to know/see more of the kobolds
4) the Shackles (more over Tessa and some of the other pirate lords)
5) the Red Mantis
6) expansion on the Kellids

nice, I'd been wondering if the iconics were going to be expanded on anymore. have been wanting to learn a bit more about the summoner for a while.

This little story was good, interesting take on the half-orc and inquisitor.
