Striding into the Formidably Maid is a young woman with a winning smile which she immediately directs towards Tino. A wide-brimmed black hat is set over flaming red hair and bright blue eyes. Her shirt is white and unbuttoned just enough to reveal a small amount of cleavage. Dark blue trousers and well-worn leather boots complete the look. She's beautiful, but that's not why all eyes in the bar turn to her. No, that would be because behind her walks a crocodile with a red ribbon tied around his neck. While the pretty red bow indicates that he must be some sort of pet, he is still a crocodile and therefore not something one would normally expect to see walking into a bar. Not even in Port Peril. Tino barely looks up. "No." "Oh come on!" After that initial burst of exasperation the winning smile turns up another few notches. The woman leans against the bar, displaying her cleavage to its best advantage. "I'm probably leaving Port Peril soon, you know. I just want to be able to have a last hurrah without having to worry about poor Chomps sitting outside all alone. See how sad he looks?" 'Poor Chomps' does indeed look rather pitiful. Perhaps this is because he's significantly smaller than most of his kind. Or perhaps the ribbon is "He'll stay under the table and won't be any trouble, I promise. Cross my heart-" "No animals in the bar. No exceptions. We've had this talk before." The woman pouts but Tino is unmoved. "Fine. Come on Chomps." She stalks out, Chomps dutifully following, and comes back crocodileless a few minutes later. "He's waiting behind the bar. Sad. Alone. It could start raining any minute." "Do you want a drink or not?" "Gimme some rum."
I like Jezanna of the Deep. Probably not a title she'll use often, but it sounds both cool and appropriately piratey :) I also really like Captain Chompsalot. This is what I mean when I say I'm not good with names. Those videos are fantastic. I love the long-suffering quartermaster but the captain is hilarious. Branding!
I also like Thrice-Born. It looks cooler to me than Thriceborn. Speaking of which I have four posts left to decide if I want to add anything to Jezanna's name. She definitely doesn't have a last name, but should I add some sort of piratey title? If so does anyone have any ideas on what? Names are not my strong suit. (*cough*Sir Chompsalot*cough*)

@GM: May I give up one point from Jezanna's point buy in order to start a crocodile animal companion with 2 INT instead of 1? Choosing between crocodile and wolf (with the Intelligence being the deciding factor) is the only remaining build decision I have to make.

Ended up going in a different direction considering the rest of the party. With an arcanist, zen archer, gunslinger, and two-handed fighter it didn't look like we were going to have much in the way of face skills. So I built a Lunar Oracle instead of the druid. Moon, tides, ocean...it all makes sense for this campaign. Plus I still get to have an animal companion :) Question for the GM: I'd like to take a crocodile, but they start with 1 Intelligence instead of 2 like most animal companions. That limits the number of tricks they can learn. Any chance you'd consider letting my crocodile start with 2 intelligence? I'd be willing to give up a point from Jezanna's stats in exchange. If that's a no I'll probably pick a wolf instead.
On a completely different note; as you can see I've made two different aliases. I'm in a game with a vigilante who does this and enjoy being able to instantly see whether it's the 'social' or 'vigilante' persona talking. |
