1 person marked this as a favorite.

So I ran night march of kalkamedes at home one day with a couple of friends. This is one of those games that makes you realize how bad players want to screw up a game.

Night March of Kalkamedes:

They find the intelligent sword at the beginning of the adventure. The monk thinks it is part of his faction mission and procedes to kidnap it. When it talks too much, he wraps it up in cloth and puts it in a sheath.
Roleplay adverted

So the adventure starts with him tripping over his own feet. After a lot of hinting, no one got that he took damage. Finally someone got the hint and decided to heal him. They heal him, and then decide to tie him up with some rope... I don't know

They walk up to the thorn bush. He starts to walk into it. Everyone grabs him immediate.
Player, "How are we going to get around..." "Lets walk around!"
They go part way around and then let him go again. He walks back into the thorn bush. They all grab him. Then they walk the rest of the way around...
Problem adverted!

He starts walking into a lake. They all grab him.
Player, "Okay lets walk around again!"
GM, "...No, you have to deal with the problem."
Player, "Okay lets build a boat."
Player 2, "If he is building a boat, I'm building a yacht."
Problem Solved!

They walk up to the cliff.
Player 1, "Can we walk around?"
GM, "No."
Player 1, "Are you sure, I'm going to go walk down until I see a closer point."
GM, "You don't see any closer points down the way. It looks to continue for quite a time."
Player, "Alright I try the other way."
GM, "You don't see any closer points down the way. It looks to continue for quite a time."

Now for the actual solution.
Thoughts of simple climbing down and up were quickly dismissed. Player 1 shoots a grappling hook across the cliff and onto the other side. Everyone takes 10 to get across.
Player, "I feel like we're forgetting something."
*kalkamedes hogtied on the other end of the cliff*
Player, "Okay lets just tug on him, he was an ex-paladin, he must be durable."
So they pull him across hitting head first into the other side of the cliff. Then pull him up and heal him.
Brain damage attained!

Rest to be posted another time.

First off, I'd like to say I'm very new to Pathfinder Society, but I've played Pathfinder for over a year and a half.

A buddy of mine, whom also is a player on my weekly games, is playing a level one human summoner. At level one his eidolon was able to charge and deal 30 damage to a boss. His build is as follows...

Feats - Spell focus (Conjuration)[Human feat] and Augment Summoning
First Prestige points (Wand of Enlarge Person)
[Works on him due to the share spells ability]
Eidolon: Build - Biped (Bite: 1d6)
Evolution - Pounce and Claws x2(Claw: 1d4)
Feats - Multiattack

When mixed together, his pet attacks at a +6 Bite (1d8+5), +4 Claw (1d6+5), and +4 Claw (1d6+5).

I have been trying to find out how this is not legal because everyone at the table seems to feel very under powered. For the most part, this is most peoples very time playing. Let me know if this is legal, and if it is, then I suggest heavy combat players should put away their barbarians and pull out a summoner. (JK)

Clarification for the above

Augment summoning does not work unless you use the spell Summon Eidolon.
Enlarge person will not work unless it is Biped.
Can't have pounce unless it is a Quadruped.
As far as I know Eidolons can get Monster feats. However, Multiattack will not benefit the Eidolon in this build.

So if it is a Biped with the bite evolution. Two evolution points left.
+4 bite (1d6+3), +4 Claw (1d4+3), +4 Claw (1d4+3)
If Enlarged
+4 bite (1d8+3), +3 Claw (1d6+2), +3 Claw (1d4+3).
This is all without pounce though. Good luck getting a full attack off.

If it is Quadruped, with the bite evolution. Two evolution points left.
+3 bite (1d6+2), +3 Claw (1d4+2), +3 Claw (1d4+2)
This way it can get pounce.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Bestiary
Feats: none of the feats are legal for play for PCs, animal companions, or familiars unless specifically granted by another legal source.

Eidolons are considered a summon creature. So, since it isn't a PC, animal companion, or familiar, all of the feats are legal.

Level 10 Summoner atm. Jebidiah the Dirt Farmer.
Summoner built entirely around the Eidolon. Using a majority of money in order to make the Eidolon stronger, (Amulet of Mighty Fists, Belt of Strength ect...) Start the fight invisible and try to stay back as the Eidolon wrecks the party. If the Eidolon is felled in battle, SLA to summon goodies such as an Ankylosaurus. Then pull out the ever so fun Wand of Summon Eidolon until the party is able to recognize the real threat. Then teleport away if they are able to find him. I'm not quite sure how you pick a fight with a dirt farmer, but I feel bad for those who do...

Level 6 Paladin. Lupe SandWalker the Sand Salesman.
A non-killing paladin. Very likely to have been tricked by anybody with his massive -2 Sense Motive. Probably easy to talk out of the fight. Could even be used against a lower level party because he only does non-lethal damage. Not that it has stopped him from killing a poor dog and his master. Dang party stopping me from saving the poor Hellhound.
