Definitely has a different take than the standard D&D/PF type setting; guessing there'd be some sorta sidebar on advice like how to crossover both worlds and stuff? ;)

You got it! Apocalypse the Risen is a stand-alone campaign setting, but technically the races, classes, monsters, etc would be able to crossover to any other campaign setting, as they are fully compatible with either system.

Latest Stretch Goal update!

We just unlocked 2 new adventure stretch goals (ghost Emote adventure story and hooks, 3 iconic back stories) as well as the first of the expanded beastiary entries. Check out the update here:

Do you have what it takes to survive the Rise?

The Apocalypse the Risen Campaign Setting thrusts you into the role of a resolute survivor, forging through the ashes of humanity on an Earth besieged by demons and the dead—known as Risen. 25 years after the collapse of society, humankind and their new allies now fight back, staggered and beaten but never broken.
Demons and the risen are not the only horrors of the world. Malevolent spirits, mutated abominations, and perhaps the worst monsters of all—desperate men and women willing to do anything to survive—all populate a landscape fraught with peril. But all is not lost. Colonies have formed as the living struggle to rebuild a semblance of the world before The Rise, establishing trade and creating alliances.
Is it the survival of your Colony that drives you onward in the hunt for precious resources? Or perhaps hatred for the evils walking the Earth that fuels your righteous anger seeking redemption?
Whether you are a Maverick dependent on your keen eye and uncanny reflexes, or a Splicer reliant on your ingenuity and ability to bridge magic and technology, there is one thing for certain. Those of Darkness watch… And they wait.

The Apocalypse the Risen kickstarter is live now, awaiting intrepid backers!

I couldn't work out if this was a campaign setting or a ruleset. I presume setting since it uses the PFCompatibility license, but a lot of the promotional stuff read like a rule system.

Hi Steve!

Yes, this is a Pathfinder compatible campaign setting, not an actual rule system. But we did write several rules (like for our own races and classes) for Apocalypse the Risen to make sure the game world comes alive for the players.

If you're curious, I would encourage you to download the free one-shot PDF along with the quick rules and characters. Take a look at it, and if it looks interesting introduce it to your gaming group!

I was not able to be part of the Kickstarter but if I am able I do plan on trying to get a color hardcover once this is out.

Glad to hear Jonathan! Even though the Kickstarter didn't fund, we have self-funded up to this point so the book production is continuing. We will re-launch the Kickstarter again in January 2017, to help with the cost of publication.

Please do follow us on social media and our website for more announcements as they come, including the exact date we will re-launch the Kickstarter!

@Jason:
This thread is a list of *published and available* Base Classes.

I apologize, while the classes are considered published and available (at least the 5 that are in the sample one-shot adventure), I also just read in the first post that they must be "for sale" currently. The Apocalypse the Risen core rulebook won't actually be available for sale until Q1-Q2 2017.

Doesn't look like I can delete my post, so a mod or something will have to, unfortunately. Sorry about the misunderstanding!

Apocalypse the Risen

* Conservator - Earth protector attuned with the energies of nature
