Yeah, well.. that covers the portrait images for the beasts, now how about you put the portrait images in the box that they belong in, and give us the top-down tokens?

I have a link to this for a discounted rate in my cart, but it won't work. Help?

Edit: Actually, NONE of the discounted prices are showing once the items are placed in my cart. Terribly disappointing. I was trying to buy some stuff to help support you guys and the OpenRPG movement.. but I'm not rich, either.

First thing you've done in a while that I've approved of, Paizo. Well done. Well done indeed.

Did you guys ever get around to offering gridless versions of these Map Packs for VTT use? I thought you DID.. I even posted on Reddit that you guys were ahead of the ballgame, and WotC is playing catch-up. But...?

Ok, so here's a new version of my goblin song.

The links are dead. I don't suppose anybody has archived copies of these?

I really can't use any flip-mat where horse-boxes are 1 square broad.

These mats are designed for use with miniatures and ALL horse minis are 2 x 2 squares.
Also in reality horses may be transported in such narrow trailers, but they are not standing in such small stable-boxes all day/night.
In the real world this would fall under animal-cruelty, in the fantasy world of Pathfinder it's just annoying.
Now if there would be a medium sized "Pony" miniature, i could use this as a tavern for "small folk", but there isn't any.
Rant off.

Back when miniatures were first a thing, the horses with no base broke legs off, and the ones with a skinny base tipped over. That horse was invariably a captain, and knocked all oh his troops over. That's why a SINGLE horse has a large base. Look for the horses with clear bases.

So way back when these first became popular.. it was actually a third party company that came out with the miniatures rules to use alongside D&D. The majority of it was about placement, location, range and stuff like that, so there's no reason you couldn't adapt it to 5E.

I mention it because various large and huge items have REALLY big bases that doesn't work in game play. For this reason, a single horse is considered to take up 1x2 squares. a team 2x2 and a team and a coach 2x4. The bases are to be considered as nonexistent in game play. For this reason, you're supposed to actually own single horses, teams and carriages in order to be able to place them properly on the map. Generally speaking, if the miniature is ACTUALLY to scale, it is considered to occupy the squares that it ACTUALLY occupies, not the size of the base.

The simple solution? Don't use miniatures. Convert to a VTT. FoundryVTT has two different third party people making sensor systems to use physical miniatures ON a VTT.

Ok, I know this doesn't sound reasonable, but I am really really irritated right now that Paizo released a Second Edition Humble Bundle out of nowhere. I've been hinting and begging them to give us one final First Edition bundle with the other bestiaries, Inner Sea stuff and Rise of the Runelords.. so that we could 'complete' our collection of core books for Golarion.

Nope. Not happening. There's a big fat second edition bundle right there. Right where I don't want it. I don't want to buy a SINGLE Second Edition book, until I've completed my first edition collection. I have like ten PAGES of assets in my digital library, and I do NOT want to get the first and second edition content mixed up!!

Can anybody tell me if there is a clear way to sort the two versions out once you buy the second edition stuff? I hate to lose out on a Humble Bundle of Paizo products, but I will be skipping this one if it's going to muck up my library.

Grr..

First off.. I'm a bit disappointed to not see the grand-daddy of ALL VTT software mentioned, MapTool. It's still superior to all of the rest.. so long as you enjoy getting in elbow deep to set up the features precisely the way you want.

Second off, I couldn't be happier that you're supporting Foundry. I REFUSE to support the development of platforms like Roll20 and FG that only develop features and scams to make them more cash. Foundry has THE greatest community support out there, and if ANY new VTT system ever overtakes MapTool.. it will be Foundry. The only shocking thing is that Paizo didn't help give them a leg up from the start.

Third.. I PERSONALLY convinced Devin Night to start making Pathfinder token packs, in the hopes of FINALLY getting some Paizo styled top-down goblin tokens made by a respected content developer. I was horrified when you guys turned around and told him that he had to give them away for free. https://immortalnights.com/product/pathfinder-compatible-tokens/

Needless to say, we never did see those Paizo goblin tokens.

You NEED to hit him up, and ask him to start building some official token packs for you for Foundry and etc.

As mentioned previously (by me) you also NEED to go back and get your map artists to re-release all of your maps with gridless VTT versions.. starting with your Inner Sea and Sandpoint ones, specifically.

None of this is new. You should have started that ball rolling at least a year ago, when it became apparent that the Pandemic wasn't going anywhere any time soon. Still, better late than never, I suppose. In the immortal words of a famous bard 'git-er-done'. :)

Update: JPGs for easier use with VTTs... Enjoy!

Well, I just flipped the switch and went ahead and bought the official maps, since they're on sale anyway. Quite disappointed that there are no gridless versions. Every VTT that I am aware of is designed to use gridless maps, then superimpose the grid in the correct layout when needed. This GREATLY adds to the immersion of the VTT experience. Is there any way that we could get a gridless version??

If you guys DO publish gridless versions, kindly add something like rusty dragon inn-24x32.jpg (24x32) to the description to indicate the correct number of 5 foot squares. That's the industry standard, as I'm sure you know. Once people plug the map and that number in to their favorite flavor of VTT, they can superimpose their own grid whenever needed. :D

ALSO on my wishlist: One last 1st edition Humble Bundle with the handful of remaining core books and bestiary, then tier two could be all of the general Sandpoint guide books, and tier 3 could be the Rise of the Runelords Anniversary book and maps. :D

That's my beautiful dream, anyway. :D

Although, I was hoping to find the resource I mentioned. For now I'll just thumb through the resources I have and see what I can put together.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, thank you both, Page 44. :) That's more than adequate to give me the floor layout I was looking for.

I'm here to ask if there is a place to get an official floor layout for the Rusty Dragon, and other Sandpoint buildings and locations. I'd like to set up my own style of VTT maps for all of the above before the party hits Sandpoint. I don't want to Hijack an illegal copy of Paizo trademark maps, though, I just want to see if there's something akin to a floor layout that I can try to replicate.

One person mentioned a map of the Rusty Dragon being in the Sandpoint book though (which I have). I don't recall a map of the Rusty Dragon in there, but I'm not too lazy to thumb through it and check. ;)

At any rate, I'm aware of a handful of third party maps for other Sandpoint buildings, but I haven't located any official sources, for maps or layouts, of any other buildings yet.

IS there some sort of quasi-official d20pfsrd type resource for official maps / layouts??

I would like a skeletonized version which represents the layout.

Think engineering blueprint.

I am looking for an outline from Paizo (or..?) which represents the official floor layout of various buildings around Sandpoint.

I want to make my own floor maps in my own style, for digital VTT use, not steal their artwork.

Thanks so much if anybody can help!

P.S. Feel free to share any third party stuff, that is known to follow official layouts as well. :)

Belloque, you know that ther are literally like 8 million tavern/inn maps out there right? I'm not sure if Paizo sponsors any of the third party sellers though. You could try DMsGuild which is the DnD sponsored place for third party stuff.
