Jaek slowly lifts the lid of the barnacle encrusted waterlogged chest, his eyes sparkling in anticipation.

After Rosh returns with his belongings, Jaek storms off into the kitchen. A small cacophony of the jostling of cooking pans and trays can be heard for a minute.

Jaek returns munching on a roasted turkey leg and carrying a large sack loaded with pastries and other baked goods. He gives a tip of his hat and a smug grin to the three speechless innkeepers as he strides past them.
"You've been quite accommodating, ladies. Thank you for the treats for our long journey home. Ta-ta!"
He strides straight out the door and calls out to his companions without looking back.
"C'mon, mateys! Our ship awaits!"

Jaek relaxes a bit as he crosses his arms.
"I'm quite disappointed with you ladies. We could have had a very beneficial trade agreement between us. I was considering having Leon here stuff you in the cells below to think about it a bit longer, but, it appears you've learned your lesson."

Jaek gives a nod towards Rosh.
"Rosh, my lad, how's about coming with us and having a bright future for yourself? The Pathfinders are always looking for able bodies like you. If you're not interested in adventurin' there's plenty of good paying work at the Grand Lodge. Stable keepin', blacksmithin', whatever you fancy, my boy. And, I may need a strappin' lad like you as part of me crew when I get my own ship in the future.
Whadda ye say, me boy? Just a nod will do."

Jaek smiles and holds out a friendly hand to Rosh.

Jaek puts a finger to his lips in thought as he listens to Addas' confession.

He glares at the woman.
"You, madame, are a liar and are in cahoots with those Razmirans."
Jaek declares as he grips the handles of his blades in a threatening gesture.

Jaek steps forward waving his arms for his companions to lower their weapons.
"Wait, wait, wait! Lower your weapons. These ladies were very hospitable to us. Let's not jump to conclusions."
He says, adopting a more sympathetic demeanor in the good cop/bad cop tactic.
He turns to the innkeepers.
"Ladies, we don't want any trouble. Just tell us what you know. Those Razmiri cultists are nothing but oppressive fanatics bringing chaos and fear to this land. Surely, you don't wish to live in fear for the rest of your lives, now, do you?”
Thinking about how his team found the carving of Rosh's name written on the table in the jailor's room and that it was also Rosh that snuck food down to the dwarves, he nods towards the boy.
"I know Rosh here, doesn't want to live under the iron fist of the Razmirans, either."
He winks at the boy then turns back to the ladies.
"You all have been so kind. Just tell us what you know about the dwarven emissaries being captured."

Jaek sheathes his blades and congratulates his companions.
"Nicely done, mateys! Let's dispose of these bodies, quick. We'll dump them down that trap door in the stable."
Jaek looks over at the onlookers in the window.
"I'd like to know what those ladies have to say about all of this."

He lets out a hearty laugh.

"Good point, Leon. This trap door could lead to a main temple of Razmir. Maybe the dwarves want some of their clothes back, though. Let them gather what they need."

"Ah-ha."
Jaek says in pleasant surprise.
"Looky there. Another way out. Before we head up, I want to take a quick look through these crates."
Jaek digs through a few crates and tosses clothing and accessories out onto the floor.

"Arr. Shiver me timbers. No decent treasure."
He mumbles to himself in disappointment as he gets to the bottom of a crate.

"Look at all this here clothing! They must've stolen this from all the captives they brought down here."

He looks at the dwarves as he points to a pile of clothing on the floor.
"Any of this yours?"

A lantern suddenly lights up in his head.
"Heyyy. We can disguise ourselves and make a clean getaway outta here."
He says with a grin as he unfurls and holds up a pair of garish pink bloomers made for a very large woman.

Jaek helps all the dwarves gather in one cell with his companions. As the group helps to take care of the dwarves wounds and malnourishment, Jaek speaks quietly to them and tries to figure out who's behind all of this.
"The wet mopping sounds may have been those blobby demons we just sent back to hell. Good to know that mute lad was helpin' you out. I wonder if he's in cahoots with whoever brought you down here. It must not have been the innkeeper ladies since you say you only saw them for a moment before coming down here."
Jaek rubs his chin in thought.
"The gurgling voice you heard. Got any more details? Man or woman? Strange accent or speakin' a language other than Taldane?"

Jaek gives an embarrassed smile as the cell door creaks open loudly.
"Sorry... Hey. Any of you gots some lantern oil to put on these hinges?"

"Interesting. Good find, Merida. Now let's find these dwarves."
Jaek searches each cell door for a trap before unlocking it with a key.

Suddenly the name in the carving hits him.
"Of course! The stable boy. So that little S.o.B. is in on this."
He thinks to himself. He jingles the keys to Leon and gives a wink.

When the others in the party assemble around, Jaek shows them the keys.
"Let's find out which cell our dwarves are in and get the hells outta here. I think that mute boy, Rosh, is one of the captors. His name be carved in the desk over there."
He points towards the desk at the end of the hall.

Jaek grabs the keys. He notices the name in the carving but nothing clicks... yet.

With nobody in the hall, he calls quietly to his companions.
"C'mon. The coast is clear."
He waves a hand, motioning them to come down the hall.

Jaek whispers to the group as he peers down the passage.
"Cold stone floor, iron doors, musty odor... Yep, looks like a cell block to me. I spent some time in places like this before becoming a Pathfinder. Let's look for our dwarves. I see a key on a table down there. I'll just..."
Without another word, Jaek slinks through the door and down the passage to the key on the desk.

On one knee and focused on the lock, Jaek squints while he works on the lock. Upon hearing the Barbarian's comment, he takes a moment to look over his shoulder to respond.
"These locks be a bit rusty. Might take me a bit o' time, mate. Luckily, I got me a lucky pick I like to call 'The Peacemaker'".

Jaek nods at Merida, then slowly closes the door.
"Okay. Well, the door's unlocked now. Let's go around through that open passage first and check what's down that way. Let's move quietly, though.

Jaek looks over his shoulder and addresses the group.
"It's locked."
He says quietly.
"Should I try to unlock it or should we head down that hallway over there?"
He points to the hall leading to the northeast.

If at least two members suggest opening the door, Jaek pulls out his tools and gets to work on the lock.

"Well, I reckon we found where our dwarves might be. I'll check out this door here."
Jaek moves to the door and runs his deft fingers along the seams around the door. He checks the handle for a lock or keyhole.

What's the lighting situation? If it's dim or dark, Jaek will ask a spellcaster to cast light.

As the group heads down the trap door, Jaek speaks quietly to the group.
"We may have a lot of explainin' to do to those ladies that run the inn when we return with those dwarves with us. I wonder if they even know that people are being held captive down here... Or if they're in on it."

Jaek winds up and punches the fake horse. His fist goes right through the image.
"See? Not real!"

He says as he hurries down the trap door behind Leon.

"Hey! What in Besmara's name...?"
Jaek looks at his companions, then back at the horse.
"Look! It's not even real! A figment. Illusory magicks."
He waves his arm through the illusion in an attempt to convince the others that the horse isn't real.
"Ha! We've been bamboozled, I tell ya'!"
He continues waving his arm through the illusion.
"See? It be there, but it's not there."

I want to move the horse to a different stall so I can safely inspect the stall it was in.

"I'm trying to move the horse out of the stall and into another one, Leon. I found a hidden switch that deactivates a trap. I think there might be a secret passage leading to our dwarves in that stall."

Jaek flips the switch to deactivate the trap.

Which stall is the cranky horse in?

Jaek suggests opening the horse's stall gate and then opening the gate to an empty stall on the other side. Then have members of the group stand on both sides between gates, essentially creating a path so the horse can't escape but allow it to wander across into the empty stall. Once the horse is across in its new stall, Jaek or whoever will shut the gate.
"Sound like a good plan?"
Assuming the group agrees...
"There's gotta be a bucket and some feed or something we can use to coax the ol' girl across"

Jaek looks for any sort of food for the horse and attempts to coax the mare into it's new stall.

Towards the end of his watch, just before dawn, Jaek sneaks out of his room. He crosses the dining area and spies in on the kitchen.

After peeking in on the kitchen, he makes his way towards the sitting area with the large fireplace and takes a look around.

Maybe there's a cot stored under the bed for a third person. Or a Murphy bed that folds from the wall not depicted on the map.

After Jaek fills his belly with all the tasty food offered to him by the sisters, he thanks them profusely then retires for a nightcap at the fireplace, hopefully with other members of his crew..
When he is sure the group has a moment alone, Jaek whispers quietly.
"Those captives gotta be around here somewhere. I'll take final watch to sneak about to see if I can find any suspicious activity. If I'm caught, I'll just say I'm an early riser and lookin' for breakfast."

Jaek takes the last sip of his brandy and bids all a goodnight.
"I'll be retirin' now. See ya'll in the morn."

Jaek turns to Addas.
"Well, ma'am, we'll take two of the fine guest rooms to share. Three of us in each."
He pulls out his coin pouch and finds a few gold pieces.
"No, no, no, my fine crew of sailors. I'll take care of the cost."
He holds up his hand in protest when any of his companions make a fuss about the cost.
"I'm the captain, now. I want to take good care of my hard workin' crew."
He says with a wink.

He drops the coins into Addas' hand.
"I'm sure a few of us are quite famished, like meself, and could use a hearty meal before we turn in for the night.
In the morning, my crew and I would like to take a look at the storage cellar. Seeing that we will be using this as a waystation for our caravan, we will need to rent a corner for storage for some of our goods. We may have some perishable goods, so a cool cellar would be most ideal."

"And," He adds with a charming smile,
"We will pay any reasonable rental charges."

I don't mind whatsoever covering the cost for the rooms. 4th level and plenty of cash. ;)
