"Well guys, you can haul this up to the shop; I'll go relieve Jack and send him down. Libs and Greg are probably gonna crash so keep it down if you can."
"Dang. It's nice to know a doctor, by the way. What do make of this epidemic?"
Jack passes mike 5 full clips and shows him how to stack a clip fast, refilling the spent clip a few times. He gives him a few suggestions about where to keep the clips... "This gun has fired 5 or 6 thousands rounds and I've worked the reload for a good hundred hour. She's smooth. She drops clips like soap in the shower...." He shows Mike some of his tricks. "So, was that the first time you shot a gun?"
"I wonder what L.A. looks like."
"Awesome. Things are looking up."
"Karl raised me after my parents died. I lived on bases with him growing up and he retired a few years ago and moved out here to start this company with a buddy from the service. And f$!&... what now? I'm sure glad I work in a gun shop." Jack lights a smoke and takes a deep drag. He holds the pack out to Sam and then Johnny, Mike and Patrick. "Mortality looks different tonight, eh?" Gunfire from downtown again. "I think you guys came just at the right time. Pretty soon we're gonna be too scared to let anybody in."
Johnnie starts handing out pastries from his bag. "Thanks. Can I have a grande Columbian with that?"
"You gotta backdoor to this place?" "There is a heavy steel door in the back of the gun shop. The real estate building also has a back door, but it isn't as secure." "So what kind of work do you folks do?"
Jack looks Mike over feet to head and draws the pistol from his hip holster. It looks to Mike for a second like he's about to get shot, until he sees the skinny kid is tossing him the gun handle first.
"Safety is on." Skinny looks back down at the zombies and loads something into a large tube under the barrel of his assault rifle.
"F@g." <Jack lights a smoke and them sits it on the crenelation beside his rifle. Then he chambers a round.>
"Looks like 20 or more. Moving fast."
"Contact. Schoolground. Drugstore cowboy is in trouble, boss."
From the other side of the building, whispered loudly: "The little guy is checking out the pharmacy."
