Hey guys.
As much as it pains me to say so, it’s been some time now that I’m struggling to contribute to my games in the way they’d deserve, in both quantity and quality. Spending most of the week working and then leaving for the weekend every opportunity I get, the time I manage to set aside for online gaming (of every sort) is getting scarcer and scarcer, and more often than not I log in only to realize a game has proceeded in my absence faster than I could keep track of it, and by the time I read everyone else’s posts and think of a reaction, I would end up postponing my posting of it to the next day – only for the action to have proceeded even further.
I think you all deserve more than the bunch of sparse, brief and uninspired posts I’ve been providing. It’s been a real pleasure playing with you all, but I’m probably going to spend the next few months away from the forums. In the meantime, I wish you all happy gaming; allow me to say I’m sorry if this causes you any inconvenience, or if I’ve ended up hogging a spot a more enthusiastic player would have deserved more than I did.
Thanks for all the fun we had!

As if in a well-rehearsed ballet, Ithilwen mirrors Alexa's movement almost symmetrically.
Female Half-drow Bard 1 | HP 9/9 {conditions: +1 to atk., saves} | AC 16 (Tch 13 FF 13) | F +2 R +6 W +3 | Init +3 | Perc +6, darkvision
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Ithilwen looks lost for barely a moment before Uriel's quick thinking helps her realize what the woman meant.
She solemnly raises the blasphemous symbol with deliberate slowness, but is secretly glad when she finally puts it back in the pocket where it was stashed.
Bluff (aid another): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
She listens intently to what the stern woman has to say while her mind races to find a way to turn things to their advantage. A trap. Good. We can turn the tables on them.

Female Half-drow Bard 1 | HP 9/9 {conditions: +1 to atk., saves} | AC 16 (Tch 13 FF 13) | F +2 R +6 W +3 | Init +3 | Perc +6, darkvision
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Ithilwen is walking stealthily right besides Alexa when she hears her friend groan. Spotting a trio of warped creatures guarding a barricade and now presently being hailed by Alexa, she thinks quickly and grasps her silver scale, letting its power turn her into one of the fake crusaders whose corpses they discovered earlier.
Bluff (aid another): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 +4 if they're evil
"We did wipe them out – no thanks to you weaklings. Now move aside and let us pass, if you don't want me to add your names to a long list of collateral damage" she growls, channelling an aura of condescending arrogance as only a drow could – and secretly hoping it to be a common feature among demonic cultists.
Sorry, was away for the weekend and then found a super-busy week waiting for me. Still, I should have warned everyone in advance, yet I didn't hoping to find the time to squeeze in a post sooner or later. Again, sorry!

Ithilwen bows courteously at the chief's offer. She's reminded of how in the Darklands, the most beautiful things can be the cruellest, while mercy can be found in the heart of misshapen men. She knows better than to voice her thought out loud, though.
Female Half-drow Bard 1 | HP 9/9 {conditions: +1 to atk., saves} | AC 16 (Tch 13 FF 13) | F +2 R +6 W +3 | Init +3 | Perc +6, darkvision
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Ithilwen walks through the door with little regard for the guards or the distrustful look on their faces, busy as she is contemplating the panorama beyond with squinted eyes. This looks very much like an impoverished version of Sekamina, which brings back memories the half-drow would rather repress.

Aberus Ocellio wrote: Yes, a 10' jump is a DC 10 check. Despite the endless argument on the forums that tries to convince the world otherwise. You could have also just taken 10 since we aren't in combat, which would have been an auto-success, too. ;)
I skimmed through that discussion, and wouldn't absolutely touch it with a 10-foot pole. I understand most of the confusion stems from getting stuck in a grid-only mentality. About taking 10, I've had various GMs interpret the "not in immediate danger" clause quite differently (the most common being as "not in combat", to which I adhere, but I've also had some forbidding it for checks pivotal to plot advancement – so wasn't quite sure :) ).
"Welcome Alexa" Ithilwen quips. "Now let's see about the others."
If one of the big guys can cross the chasm through a rope, we can then haul down and lift up the injured NPCs – it's just double one's maximum load. Probably even Alexa could do it, depending on Horgus' weight.
EDIT: or just what Aberus said :)
Female Half-drow Bard 1 | HP 9/9 {conditions: +1 to atk., saves} | AC 16 (Tch 13 FF 13) | F +2 R +6 W +3 | Init +3 | Perc +6, darkvision
Without really taking part to the conversation, Ithilwen grabs one end of the rope and, though less graciously than she would have liked, swiftly jumps across the fissure.
Acrobatics (long jump): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 Unless I'm missing something, a 10-foot chasm would take an Acrobatics DC 10 to jump across - with Ithilwen's +10 modifier, it should be an auto-success right?
Female Half-drow Bard 1 | HP 9/9 {conditions: +1 to atk., saves} | AC 16 (Tch 13 FF 13) | F +2 R +6 W +3 | Init +3 | Perc +6, darkvision
Alexa's and Arloric's scales can be used to cast levitate – probably at high CL too considering... you know... big dragon and everything...
Female Half-drow Bard 1 | HP 9/9 {conditions: +1 to atk., saves} | AC 16 (Tch 13 FF 13) | F +2 R +6 W +3 | Init +3 | Perc +6, darkvision
Shall we go for another try? I could roll an aid another check for Ithilwen, but as Aberus pointed out, it would be irrelevant at this point.
Female Half-drow Bard 1 | HP 9/9 {conditions: +1 to atk., saves} | AC 16 (Tch 13 FF 13) | F +2 R +6 W +3 | Init +3 | Perc +6, darkvision
At the misshapen humans' sight, Ithilwen feels her hand instinctively going for her crossbow. Then, she remembers Telerin's words.
"We mean you no harm" she tentatively hails. "We're lost and we're trying to find a way to the surface. Let us through and no harm will be done to either of us."
And let's hope it's not more deranged maniacs.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

A slope would be 0, pitons should decrease the DC by 5, so -5 cumulative? I don't think penalties for broken bones are listed anywhere in the Rulebooks, but using other skills' descriptions as a guideline "big disadvantages" usually raise a skill check's DC by 5 points or so.
Though the PRD does specify that anything sloping 60 degrees or more is considered a wall, so we're borderline here... In which case Ithilwen probably just fell down, and even takin 10 wouldn't be enough for her to get though the tunnel. (lol).
I also agree with the reasonability of the assumption that there should be plenty of communication going on 'behind the curtains'; feel free to assume you all know what Ithilwen's scale does (namely, cast alter self).
Female Half-drow Bard 1 | HP 9/9 {conditions: +1 to atk., saves} | AC 16 (Tch 13 FF 13) | F +2 R +6 W +3 | Init +3 | Perc +6, darkvision
Alexa's and Arloric's, I believe, though I'm hesitant to assume this knowledge is also shared in-game. Also, a 60 degree slope with handholds should be a Climb DC of, like, 0?
"I'll make way" Ithilwen offers as she slips into the tunnel. "I'll contact you should I find anything worth reporting" she says pointing at Aberus.
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Readying a Vanish spell should she be obviously spotted by hostiles.

Alexa Dorne wrote: Arloric wrote: "I...have never killed a man before. This felt...so different from a practice bout. Is this what crusaders have to do day in and day out?" Alexa gives Arloric a resigned nod. "Indeed. Some days are more difficult than others." "If you're lucky, it's mostly demons" Ithilwen says as she helps Arloric and Aberus with the cairn, as if such penitence could exorcize her previous bad thoughts.
"There are days when one's not so lucky."

Telerin Quenya wrote: Diplomacy and compassion are always needed, especially when evil seeks to prevail, Itilwen of the Myriad Stars. says the elf as she begins to cast a spell of her own. "It's not me who needs persuading" Ithilwen retorts as she closes the distance between her and the dwarf. She promptly bites her tongue, however, and immediately regrets her choice of words. Telerin's monition was meant in good faith, and her instinctive sarcastic reply instantly brought her mind back to darker times.

She shakes her head slightly at Aberus' offer. "I'm good. Thanks" As clumsy as we were, those... whatever they were... were kind enough to reciprocate the favour.
She listens briefly to Aravashniel and Arloric recounting the history of the surfacers' wars with the subtlest spark of interest in her eyes before nodding in agreement with Horgus. "We should move on" she somberly states.

"Greetings. We are travellers, lost in the dark and trying to make our way to the surface. We mean you no harm and only wish to be on our way."
And let's hope it's not just more bugs.
She repeats her salutation in both Common and Undercommon.

Ithilwen smiles as the shrine is restored to at least a modicum of its former glory – not being particularly versed in the divine arts, her jobs have been mostly menial tasks which quickly vexed her delicate constitution, but which she kept on performing to the best of her abilities nonetheless. Feeling a warm sensation rising through her limbs and towards her core just as Arloric, Aberus and Uriel finish their prayers, she just so slightly bows to the trio. "You did well, Warriors of the Light. I can feel the Forge-Father's satisfaction embracing me already."

The difference between night and day being moot down here, every shift would benefit equally from abilities such as darkvision... I suggest spreading those who have it (Ithilwen, Alexa, Uriel and Arloric) over the four slots; for simplicity's sake, let's say Ithilwen volunteers for Shift 2...

Sorry. Spent a couple a days bedridden with the flu. Still, I should have dropped a line – again, sorry!
"My tricks are just that – tricks. I can help, but as Aberus said, it's faith and prayer that can restore this shrine to its former glory" says Ithilwen waving a hand over the graffiti, slowly but surely making centuries of dust dissipate into thin air.
Casting prestidigitation.
She nods despondently at Arloric's reasoning. "As sad as it is to say, I believe the greatest contribution we can make to the Crusades right now... is staying alive" she claims, laying a jet-black, sympathetic hand on Alexa' shoulder.

Group initiative makes things proceed more smoothly, IME; yet 'regular' initiative encourages a more tactical approach to combat. Your 'bloc' initiative approach mixes a bit of both. Other than that, I second Aberus' sentiment wholeheartedly.

Not having been introduced yet, no retcon would be needed for it to fit in the narrative, so that's basically a mechanical issue about your build – as Telerin said, something that would only concern you and the GM. Ithilwen silently nods to Aberus. Though her irritation at the petulant merchant is such she would gladly defuse the situation by slapping some sense into him, her experience in the merciless drow society has taught her how to bite her tongue in such situations. The constant threat of being flayed alive for looking at a matriarch wrong works wonders, I suppose.
"There. It should be clean now" she says punctuating her words with a quick gesture of her wrist. Suddenly, the dust has all but dissolved and the bench's surface looks once again pristine as in the day of the shrine's former glory.
