Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Looks like this game has died...so I'll respectfully withdraw. Good luck if you guys decide to resume.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Inwe simply asks her goddess to see that this trouble soul, has the afterlife she deserves, and let's the others handle the ceremony, assisting as necessary.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Last minute business trip out of town. Feel free to DMPC me if needed. SHould be able to post, but sporadically.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Inwe assists in the removal of the gear, and the preparation of the body. She performs her own ceremonies of death over the poor woman, and tries to make sure she is properly prepared for the afterlife...whatever that might be.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Not paying any attention to the princess, Inwe rushes to Natasha's side to see if there is any hope to revive her, and doing if there is.

You are correct. I should not have said anything. I should worry about my character only, therefore I shall respectfully withdraw from this game, as I won't enjoy it otherwise. Have fun in the Realms guys :-)

BTW. I care about the long term success of the game is the only reason I spoke up. I've been in too many, and seen too many that broke up early because the party couldn't learn to work together and use all their resources, so leaving might be the best option. Nothing personal.

I said nothing about any of that, just said do not use the whole unless you knew the whole had a problem.

How old are you? Would me inserting the word "some" before other players have really made you have a different reaction. You are just being an a@* h#@$, and I'm now really glad I'm out of the game. I didn't have a problem with Balodek, and was only making a "friendly" suggestion. I do have a problem with you.

Please do not use other players unless you know all players have a problem with it until than use some. I am fine with it, he is playing his character. Vestilet was going to do pretty much the same thing but not running.

Ruhk "The Dandy" wrote:

Ruhks head slumps in defeat as Lockjaw storms off.

Or not...

Inwe turns and looks at the others as Lockjaw goes charging by her. "Well it has been a long time since he got us in trouble with his impulsive behavior". "Almost a full day". "Let's not be so hasty to join him in death this time". "I have a feeling he won't be with us long.

Inwe starts forward cautiously, though the chance of surprise is not gone.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Wringing the dampness from her hair after her moonlight bath, and prayer session, Inwe stops for a moment and listens. Hurrying to where she sees her sister and Ruhk talking by the fire, she leans in close.

"Get the others". "I heard a muffled scream from behind the wagon". , she nods her head in the direction of Natasha's wagon, and heads in that direction.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 perception

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good :-)

Inwe makes her preparations to enter the water at the height of the moon and say her prayers.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Inwe follows her sister at a distance, keeping an eye on her, but not being obvious. She looks for a place in the river that will have a clear view of the moon tonight, so that she might properly give thanks, and pray for wisdom from Sehanine.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 Perception

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

"It sounds to me as though Natasha needs to be convinced that their might be some doubt about the prisoners guilt". "Though it is beyond my power, there are spells available to determine the truth of her circumstances". "Perhaps some of her Bling could be sold off, to help pay for the cost of this spell".

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Inwe is still here. She wasn't actively involved in either in either the questioning of Natasha, nor Kathai's conversation, so I assumed she was resting in the camp...waiting for the moon to rise.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Inwe hangs back as the group explores the house. She is bone tired, and weary from almost dying, then channeling the power of Sehanine.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Inwe starts awake with a deep intake of breath. What happened? Where was she? where was her sister? Was she still alive? The last thing she remembered was the pain and fear as the flaming skeleton tore into her.

Then she blinked her eyes and looked around. She was laying on a field and heard her sisters voice nearby. Besides she hurt to badly for this to be the afterlife...at least if the tenants were true. She groggily propped herself up on her elbows almost fainting with the pain, then after a moment she rose shakily to her feet.

"What happened"? "Where are our opponents"?

Looking around at her battered comrades she quickly went to one knee and thanked the goddess for her delivery.

"Please friends gather around". I shall ask Sehanine to cast her healing power upon us all".

@ scranford - fair enough.

@ everyone - how do you feel about what went down? Should I have tried to extracate you in another way? Should I have let the TPK take place? Should I consider myself "on notice" with the rest of you with regards to future missteps?

I hope you didn't take my last post wrong. I think you're doing a great job with the game, and I'm enjoying myself, but I'm not good at letting things fester...so please don't take this as "notice". I don't plan on going anywhere...just giving my imput on what makes the game enjoyable. Love the story, and can't wait to get clued in on the mystery... :-).

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

I'm really enjoying this game and the players, but need to get this off my chest. I'm aware your new at this PbP thing, and certainly don't want to leave this game...but my major Pet Peeve in gaming is having NPC's be the star and swooping in to save the PC's. I'd almost rather have a TPK...

OK I got it off my chest. Not being critical, or telling you how to run your game, but thought I'd better put it out there, as I've had some GM's particularly in Real life that made this a common occurrence. I'm sure in this case it was just a one time thing...but just to let you know.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Just to clarify. Inwe was at -7, so without magical healing she would be unconscious for at least 3 more days (Assuming Heal check was performed successfully). So has she been healed back to 1? Just want to clarify before I start doing stuff

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

I don't think it was anybody's fault. We've not been together as a group long enough to know tactics, and tendencies we would all use. Cleric going down first is usually the first sign of a TPK. :-)

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Yep. Looks that way. Usually when I make an encounter for a tougher party, I up the number of enemies, not the power of the individuals...except maybe a few extra HP. A CR5 would be a challenge for a level one party by itself... having said that. We rushed in without planning, and therefore eliminated the chance of retreating, so we've nobody to blame but ourselves. Oh well...fun while it lasted

CON Check DC14

1d20 ⇒ 17

Some how a clod of dirt and grass, kicked up by the chaos of battle flies through the air and lands on the burnt and rent Cleric, sealing her vicious wound, and stopping the bleeding.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

That's what we get for charging in without healing or thinking. If I somehow survive, that won't happen again

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

1d20 ⇒ 2 Con Check (DC13)

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Inwe moves to I28 and holds a channel waiting for the minions to approach before loosing.

1d6 ⇒ 4 CPE

"Approach me if you dare minions of death". "Let the light of Selune end your miserable existence".

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Inwe moves to I34, staff in one hand, and holy symbol in the other.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Don't know if it's possible, but if you could link the current map in the campaign info tab, then we wouldn't have to search through the posts for the map link...which can be challenging when posting on phone.

Inwe rushes towards Ruhk and Prisoner B. "If we can make sure that none of the other savages are close by, we could all gather around this prisoner, and I could call for some of the divine light of my moonlit goddess to provide healing for us all". "Please if you are injured gather around for a healing prayer"!

1d6 ⇒ 5 CPE

Don't want to accidentaly heal someone who might jump up and kill us.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

"Lets leave at least one's head connected so we can get some answers".

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

"Stay back sister". "We have wounded companions".

Inwe moves to I23 to flank the brute, moving to avoid AoO.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Flanking Quarterstaff attack

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 damage

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Since I'm really confused where everyone is after the first actions, I'm just going to say throw her javelin at whoever is withing range (bad guys that is), moving as necessary to get a clear shot.

1d20 - 3 ⇒ (10) - 3 = 7 Javelin toss

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

E29

with Javelin at ready

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

"Ah." "Now I remember that symbol". "It sounds like the symbol of Garagos, the reaver, the former war god of Faerun". "He was defeated centuries ago by Tempus, who took his office as war god, and since then has degenerated into madness". "His followers includes berserkers, reavers, slayers of all sorts; brigands too".

I shall stay back with the ranged combatants, but shall be ready to rush to the aid of any wounded". "Please gather round for a quick prayer before we enter this just combat".

Inwe will gather around the others and cast bless just before they charge into combat.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 Knowledge Religion

"Wait that seems familiar to me". "I saw it on a scroll or somewhere". "Let me think".

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

I had assumed we were all sleeping while this caper was being pulled off.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

After basking in the glow of the moon, and praying for her divine help for the coming day, Inwe, returns to camp. As she does so she runs across Evenor, and Kathai returning to camp as well.

"Isn't it a glorious night"? "Selune has never show more lovely than she does this evening". "Surely this is a sign that our mission is to go smoothly". "I thought I heard some signs of...well...disquiet from the camp while I prayed". "Is everything OK there"? The lovely, pale, willowy elf falls into step with the pair, the moons radiance seems to stick with her as she walks.

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Inwë sits silently looking at the flames. Her hand firmly grasped by her sister. It seemed strange to be holding her hand, with a sideways glance she noticed certain looks or mannerisms that confirmed that she was that long lost sister, but then she didn't know her really, and at times felt the inclination to withdraw her hand from this strangers grip. The meeting had been a bit awkward in the beginning, and still was to a certain extent, but she still desired to know this beautiful stranger. Inwë had been a bit older when they were separated, and remembered a little about her sister, and even the older sister, and the babe...but they had been apart for so long. This was by all accounts a familiar stranger".

"I'm sorry we've not been more talkative". "It's been a long day, and there is so much to say, it is almost too overwhelming to begin". I am called Inwë, and am a priestess of Sehanine Moonbow". "And if you'll excuse me, I can see the moon has risen, and I must find a high spot to offer my prayers".

With that the lithe elven woman rises to her feet, and walks a short distance from the campsite, looking for a higher spot of ground, or an outcropping of rock that might offer her an clear glance at the Selune.

I'm here. Knew the game wasn't starting till the 31st, so hadn't really paid much attention. I'm traveling through Wednesday afternoon for work, but have time in the evenings "usually". Inwe is ready to roll, just waiting for something to roll in... :-).

Female Moon Elf Cleric of Sehanine Moonbow

Inwe has a pretty good charisma, but her sect comes across as more mysterious, and "out there", so I'm not sure how good she'd be speaking with people in a normal situation. With her god's gift for prophecy, and foretelling, she would probably just confuse whoever she was talking too. Still if a pretty smile, and whimsical attitude would help she would be the girl.

Since i wrote that Alendrethala had a general idea where to find Inwe while the sister was informed by the church it may simply be possible that the two sisters meet along the way, maybe working with different parties.

It may even be possible that they are initially enemies :S

If it's important to your character background that the sisters meet in advance of the beginning of the campaign (That's where I imagined them meeting), then let's have the DM come up with a previous meeting spot, and maybe do a little RP'ing Vignette. I think this role-playing of the first meeting is too priceless to not play out. Inwe could always decide not to reveal what she knows...according to how this all plays out.

While "enemy" might be a strong word, perhaps 'competitive' or even 'at odds' might be possible.

Hot Dog! Back to the Realms...Thanks

Brief history added :-)

I like the idea of the achievements system. As PbP tends to be slow leveling anyway, these additional perks would be a bonus.

DM

Spoiler:

Here is a little blurb of what Gandal's character and I might be working on. Still waiting for his input, but before we go too far, maybe you could scan for possibility?

I’d been throwing around a couple of ideas. As the Moon Elves are curious wanderers, I thought maybe they had been sent by their village to the Starspire Mountains to investigate some leads in an old trade journal, which spoke of an ancient agreement between the Moon elves, and a lost Dwarven outpost in the mountains there. Maybe vague references to some strange metal, or gemstone with unique properties that the Dwarves needed help identifying or classifying. This was the only reference to the metal that could be found, and the two sisters were sent to research this occurrence. Maybe they are from an enclave in the Forest of Mir…There’s an elven City there, I can’t remember the name right now… and they are just now beginning their investigation when the events of the adventure take place?

DM Locke wrote:

@ Scranford - Inwe is looking good - one thing I couldn't track down, in her list of attacks a moonshaft is listed - what is that? Also, don't forget that sleep in one of her 1st level domain spells (as noted above)

@ BoggBear - Ruhk is looking pretty good, just a few things to note:
- his stats seem to add up to 30 points (not including the +2 to dex, of course) - it needs to be 25, could you re-check and adjust his stats?
- I note that you've taken a feat called cosmopolitan; I'm guessing it's from the 3.5 players guide to faerun. You've modified the feat a bit to grant +2 to two skills (sense motive and perception) rather than the orignals three skills (bluff, gather information and sense motive). Now, if you're certain that's integral to your character, I'll let it stand, though it doesn't make perception and sense motive class skills in any case. Though you've noted your character is Illuskan, don't feel that you can only choose from the Illuskan regional feats - choose freely, if you want to change the feat.
- don't worry overmuch about human regional speech - common will be enough to communicate with everyone you need to who is human. With your intelligence and rank in linguistics, you might want to diversify and take some non-human languages. Just a thought!
- are you sure about the two weapon fighting feat? With spell combat, your sword and spells can be wielded simultaneously; if you go longsword and short sword, you won't be able to cast until one of your weapons is dropped or sheathed. Once again, not a game-breaker, just a tip to take into account.

@ DM Lock. The Moonshaft is simply the faiths version of the Quarterstaff. It functions just the same, probably just cosmetically different.I can't figure out how to add spells to the Domain in Hero Lab just yet, but if I decided to take it instead of Featherfall. I'd just add it in..

@ Gandal. Sure sounds like fun. my email is scranford at earthlink dot net if you'd like to communicate offline.

Here are the basics of my Moon Elf Cleric. Still need to write background, and pick remainder of equipment, but will give you an idea.
