Hmmm - yeah, possible. Ignavius speaks Azlanti, but he'd have needed a teacher at some point. What is your window for Gara's arrival? Possibly they met up somewhere else?

Hmmm - given we're pushing the sins connection, how about if we have two connections.

First, the original research group, which could have a number of names. I like the idea of calling it a University or Academy, but I'm flexible on the full name. This would be a public group that in theory anyone could join.

Secondly, the university spawned a secret Lissalan cult. Originally founded to try to steal secrets from Thassilon, it can be the reason why we start recruiting specialists from outside our normal circle.

@Gara: best I've got is that Ignavius needed someone who spoke Tian or Tengu in order to decode his book, and tracked you down.

Happy to make ties with Ignavius.
He's been hanging around Magnimar for a few years, and he's been taking shortcuts (burning through scrolls and secrets) trying to look more competent than he actually is. He's trying to keep his Hermean heritage secret though.
He's got a huge interest in ancient human civilisations, with a focus on Thassilon.
Is anyone else interested in forming a research group? Trading knowledge? @Angleus and @Magnus: you are both wizards? We might well use the same component shop or something. @Geneviva: perhaps you as well?
