Ignacio rambles up to the Earther and the Belter, an easy smile on his face, "Afternoon, amigos." He takes stock of the situation, deciding to find what this argument's about, "What does this disagreement seem to be about? I am happy to mediate, if you two might want it."
Comm, Persuasion: 3d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3, 5, 2) + 3 + 2 = 15
Didn't see a description of the situation with the Earther.
"Suppose we split up then. I'll take the Earther."
We could also see about recruiting a few more folks to replace anyone who might've dropped out.
I’ve been enjoying it so far and would be willing to continue. Having made similar spirals with an early-game open investigation, I definitely understand that frustration.
Tristan Seong wrote: Things have slowed down a lot on this game, but: are we in agreement that looping in Fred Johnson is our play? It seems much easier than trying to do an end-run around him, given his resources. Yep. Supporting Fred Johnson and the OPA is right up Ignacio's alley.
Ignacio nods, "Some more, ah, temporal authority could be useful here on Tycho. If we can get Mr. Johnson in our corner, that's all the better."
Comm, Persuasion: 3d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2, 1, 1) + 3 + 2 = 9
Ignacio writes up a polite request to Vesta and reports his findings to the team.
Ignacio felt some kinship towards the OPA, Fred Johnson especially. Repentance for one's sins by fighting alongside those you'd wronged was right up his alley, and the fight for liberation was one he would always support.
He extends a hand to the Fred Johnson, "I will do what I can to help you, you've got my word on it. If you'll keep yours, we'll have a deal."
Int: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1) = 7
Comms, Persuasion: 3d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4, 5) + 3 + 2 = 18
Ignacio nods to Fred Johnson, "What my friend here says is true, though from the looks of it, and the fact that you're here, my guess is we've poked somewhere we don't belong. I am sure we can come to some sort of arrangement, though."
I've got 3 comm, and Tristan does too. We should be just fine.
"If it's Mormons that come running, I am sure I can find common ground and common purpose with them."
He narrows his eyes and shrugs, "Or, as much as anyone can manage with them, that is."
Communication: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1, 3) + 3 = 9
”If you can tell us anything, we would appreciate it greatly.”
Let's see what we can learn about Cerri. Best to get at least something on both our missing persons."
Ignacio nods to Fiona, "Thank you for your time ma'am. God willing, if we find anything new about your husband, I will make certain to let you know if I can."
Ignacio gives a slight nod, ” I am with a church, just not the one that employs us. I’ve taken the seal of confession many times, and I have never broken it. Whatever you might know is safe with us.”
Communcation (Persuasion): 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2, 6) + 3 = 12
"Well, the Good Shepherd expects us to be honest, but the Mormons do deviate from the tenets of the church." He shakes his head slightly as he says, "Dispensing with the scripture, their bureaucracy is a slippery thing. It's hard to say, really. For now, I say we do what we can to find those scientists. Prepare for the worst, and God willing, hope for the best."
Ignacio stands up, saying to the apostle, ”Then may the Lord walk by your side. Good day.”
As they get outside, Ignacio offers his hand to Tristan for a shake, ”Good to see you again, Tristan. It’s been too long.”
”Did Bragenholm and Cerri have any enemies you know of besides the OPA? Best to know all the angles.”
Ignacio comes in slightly late. He had little love for the Mormon church, but money was tight and recent tensions with his bishop back on Mars had done nothing to improve the situation.
He quietly enters, giving Yuri a firm handshake and a warm smile before taking a seat next to Tristan, briefly laying a hand on the man’s shoulder and saying softly, ”Been quite some time. Catch up once we’ve finished here?”
He then turns to the man at the desk, catching the end of the briefing.
I like the idea for a connection between Yuri's parents and Ignacio. Maybe they attended the church Ignacio preached at, and got to know Yuri through that?
Hey folks, looking forward to spacefaring with you all!
I think that Tristan and Ignacio would naturally have some sort of connection, as both of them are Martians looking to change things for the better.
With both Ignacio and Yuri both in the Mariner Valley, especially in the lower class section together, I imagine they'd have some connection there.
