Personality Traits
I am incredibly slow to trust. Those who seem the fairest often have the most to hide.
The first thing I do in a new place is note the locations of everything valuable-or where such things could be hidden.

Ideal
People: I’m loyal to my friends, not to any ideals, and everyone else can take a trip down the Styx for all I care. (Neutral)

Flaw
When I see something valuable, I can’t think about anything but how to steal it.

Bond:
My ill-gotten gains go to support my family.

Criminal Speciality:
Burglar

Backstory:
1) Where were they born?
Himo was born in the Trade Ward of Waterdeep.

2) Who are their parents?
Himo's father was Laucian Liadon. Laucian was an elven scholar and adventurer who only intended to visit Waterdeep briefly. Laucian did not expect to fall in love, especially not with a human. Himo's mother, Tessele Dundragon, was a merchant's daughter. The bookish Laucian and the joyous Tessele made an unusual pair, but her parents were willing to accept the relationship so long as Laucian did not treat her poorly. In order to allay their fears, Laucian took the step of marrying Tessele even without a decades-long courtship. Laucian began to trade his scholarly services to patrons in Waterdeep while Tessele assisted him with winning over custom. When the pair found that Tessele was expecting, their joy seemed complete.

2a) Are they still alive? Are there any other guardians/close family members?
Unfortunately, an old -and unknown- enemy of Laucian's found the relationship most useful. One night, it came for the elf in his home in the Trades Ward. Events moved too quickly for Tessele to do much more than overhear the last words of both the enemy and her husband:

Enemy, in archaic dialect of common wrote:
"...now you pay the price for wandering where you should not!"
Laucian, with laboured breathing, in common wrote:
"NO. I am finished but so too are you, creature of darkness!"

Before Tessele could force the jammed door open, a blast of radiance from within cracked it! When the dazed Tessele entered, she saw her husband lying dead, his body pierced in a dozen places, and a vaguely humanoid shadow burned into the wall, as if an afterimage of someone - or something.

She did never did find out what her husband's enemy was, or exactly why it had sought out her husband with murderous intent. She found life increasingly difficult, as the strange events drew unwanted attention and whispers in the Ward. She eventually giving birth to a son. Naming him Himo after his never-seen elven grandfather, Tessele raised the boy as best she could. Bekron and Jasrun Dundragon did their best to assist their daughter, remaining moderately prosperous. Tessele eventually remarried, an Illuskan trader named Stor Helder. Three human half-siblings followed, namely Amafrey, Jasrun, and Frath.

3) What were they doing before now?
Himo slowly grew to adulthood, and had opportunities in Waterdeep that a half-elf elsewhere may not have had. He nontheless felt cheated and hurt that his father had been taken away from him before he was even born, that his mother had been denied the life that she had chosen. This frustration led Himo to find a way to "even the score". He drifted between circles, eventually finding himself seeking out the secrecy and freedom of a sort offered by Mask. Himo's quick wits and determination saw him push past being a thrillseeking son of a trader, into being an acolyte.

3a) Why leave it all?
Himo thought that staying in a rut would doom his efforts and plans. So he struck out, seeking danger and coin to match.

3b) What did they leave behind?
Himo's family remains in their lives in the Trade Ward. Himo does visit.

4) What does your character want?

Himo wants to "even the score". He is fiercely loyal to his loved ones but believes that the best thing he can do for them is to work on their behalf away from them, at least most of the time. Through shared dangers, he has accepted the party as near-family in his level of loyalty and will back them up.
