![]() The barman pours you all some sake and sits down besides you, taking a cup for himself. "Kanpai!" He drinks it down in one shot. "Goju is a scoundrel. A weasel of a man indeed. He prays on defenseless merchants and flees whenever a real threat presents itself. We haven't found his hideout in the forest but we haven't gone so far inside." ![]()

![]() The hustle and bustle is strong within the local tavern. There's a dozen or so villagers, all men of varying ages. From farmers to crafters, everyone seems to be here to catch some well deserved rest. Of particular note however is the note pinned to the back of the tavern which promises a reward of 50 gold for the defeat of a local bandit who's been hiding out in the nearby bamboo forest. The barman greets you with a hearty smile as you walk in. ![]()

![]() Jiang easily finds a cooking pots and etc while searching the Maru house, meaning no money needed to be spent on it. --- The day passes and nightfall is slowly coming around. The sounds of loud chatter comes from the tavern, only a street down and besides the clucking of a few chickens and a the soft gliding of a boat on the river, the town is relatively quiet. ![]()

![]() The pool has been cleaned and the statuette has been set up in a fine manner. You now have +0.5 to Village Event Rolls As you visit your garden, a knock on the door sounds through the house. "Konichiwa neighbors." Standing at the front door is a young man dressed in village clothing. A wide brimmed straw hat rests on his head. He seems quite pleasant and friendly. "I was just passing by and saw that the Old Maru House has new tenants. Why don't you all come grab a drink at the village tavern tonight? I'm sure everyone would love to meet you!" With that he's off again, walking down the road. ![]()

![]() Jiang easily takes care of finding simple foodstuffs. Rice, beans, some assorted vegetables and a small amount of dried meat, perfect for simmering in soup is all obtained for just 1 sp. This could easily last two or three days. Searching around the cellar, Gideon finds a small bronze statuette. You recognize it as a small figure commonly displayed in a household to bring good fortune. This item grants a 0.25 bonus to Village Event Rolls. To explain briefly, I have a long list of events, with the best being in the high numbers. I roll a d100 on this table, and the events actually go higher than 100 so getting the most Lucky Curious and effects is worthwhile. ![]()

![]() Indeed, as you follow the river you come across what can only be the Old Maru House. A two story wooden mess more accurately describes the building. Hidden behind a vine cloaked stone wall, the house is slightly hidden from view from all the overgrowth and a rather large willow in the front yard. Entering the house, you stand in the central room, which branches off into three smaller rooms: to the north, east and west. A rotting staircase makes its way up to the second floor which consists of two large rooms. The backyard consists of a murky, algae covered pool of water, a weathered stone bench and a small stone trapdoor on the side of the house. Opening it up takes you into a stone cellar, which is still quite sound. ![]()

![]() Haru slowly fades from view, a simple dust trail the only sign of his passing. Kikowa stands before you, the pouch in your hand and a message with it. What shall you do? As mentioned, Days in Kikowa is a story based campaign. Make friends with the villagers, build up a business, explore the countryside, meet spirits and enjoy the region. Days will pass, seasons too... there is no current end in sight. ![]()
![]() I'm starting with two characters because I don't want an army of characters running around. With two main characters, perhaps three maximum so that I can easily keep track of where/what players are doing. And honestly, the idea of just having a couple players exploring life in a rural asian village seemed interesting. Also, there's a Tanuki as their main ally. There is still some combat but it's very story based. ![]()
![]() The dust settles as your small canvas covered wagon comes to a rest at the top of a small hill. Below you lies Kikowa, a quiet rural village in the middle of nowhere... which is actually quite the metaphor for your current situation. Homeless, Jobless, Penniless... not a fine way to live your life you might say. In fact, if you hadn't met Haru of the Tanuki you'd probably be dead by now. The little guy took pity on you and offered you a ride to his hometown. Surprised, more so by the fact that a drunken Tanuki was offering you a wagon ride than by this opportunity, you decided to join in. "I can't say it's much, but anyone can start from scratch here."The Tanuki waves you off his wagon. "I need to make it to the Shrine by nightfall so I best be going. Before I forget though, here's a little something to help you." Haru hands you a small sack. "Don't open it in front of me. It'd be quite rude. Now, I must be off but come stop by the Shrine when you have the time. Sayonara my friends." And with that, the Tanuki is off. === This Campaign is much more Roleplay oriented than my other recruitment. I am only looking for 2 players interested in spending time exploring and making a living in the rural town of Kikowa. You can develop your character as you want, meet the people and start a business. Perhaps you'll become a famous blacksmith? Marry the beautiful daughter of the village chieftain? Who knows. ===
